Chapter 373 - 373 Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor's Decree, Training with the Furious Five, Tigress' Revenge and Tai Lung Breaks Free.

(Dragon Ball Universe)

Beerus folded his arms without commenting in the Chat despite it being a martial arts-related world. Whis, for his part, was also silent but glanced at Beerus out of the corner of his eye.

The Dragon Ball universe is amazing in many ways, yet a lot of things stay simple for them, never going too deep. Maybe they don't need to, but it doesn't change the fact that sometimes beings like the Kaioshin or the Gods of Destruction display simplistic, vulgar, even childish behavior. Take Beerus and Champa, for example, who argue over trivial things like food.

They've lived long enough for that tortoise to die and reincarnate thousands of times, yet they can't teach the same lessons it does. In that sense, Beerus, who once considered Allen a candidate for a disciple, felt lacking for the first time. No matter how powerful he was, he couldn't possess what that tortoise had.

Whis smiled slightly. "You're never too old to learn, Beerus-sama…"

Normally, Beerus would've gotten angry at that comment, but this time he didn't respond.

"What a know-it-all tortoise, we should destroy him!"

Vados, Whis' sister, sighed in disappointment; it seemed Beerus' brother had learned nothing. Champa shivered under Vados' gaze and went back to eating in silence. She walked up to stand beside her brother, Whis. Together, they looked at Allen, who was sitting by the edge of the pond.

"Brother, do you think he has what it takes to learn from an angel?"

Whis smiled. "Who knows… depending on how long it takes him to reach our world, maybe… by then, he might not need it."

The Emperor took a deep breath; he'd indeed made difficult and ruthless decisions for humanity. With not a shred of regret, because it was the right path. If necessary, the Emperor would use his own sons for humanity's sake…Yet everything comes at a price.

In surviving a brutal and cruel world, many things must be sacrificed, and humanity must suffer, suffer greatly and constantly, just to breathe one more day. But The Emperor will not abandon humanity. For every scream, he would suffer with them; for every death, he would bleed; for every tear, he would rend his soul a little more. All that suffering would be one more breath for his beloved humanity…

The Emperor picked up a quill and paper and began to write… his words were filled with the echo of his deepest desires and orders to his descendants.

"…"

It was a manifestation of his psychic power so immense that even the Chaos gods couldn't see what he'd written.

When he finished, the Emperor rose and left the room… before the golden throne… he would hide a secret… and a gift or a curse…

(Kung Fu Panda Universe)

The next day, the sun rose early, and life at the Jade Palace began quickly. Allen returned, opening a portal in his room (he had gone back to his apartment to sleep with Gwen).

"Come on, Monkey! Hurry up, or Shifu will scold us again!" Mantis shouted from Crane's head.

Monkey grumbled, his silhouette yawning behind the paper wall as he followed, "It's easy for you. You don't have to walk on your own"

"Looks like life starts early here…" Allen smiled

Natasha – In those times, before electricity existed, life started with the first rays of dawn. This was true for everyone, from those in high positions to farmers.

Emma Frost – Hmm... it's hard for modern people to live like that with the dependency on electricity and the comforts of technology.

Hestia – Especially without magic, divine powers, or any tricks to create decent light at night.

Allen walked down the hall and caught the sound of Po's snores. That panda knew no fear if he could sleep knowing he'd get scolded.

Opening Po's door and seeing him sprawled like a Snorlax, Allen narrowed his eyes.

"Hey… what happened to all that motivation from yesterday?"

Po woke up with a start, leaping from his bed and attempting to mimic moves he'd seen the Furious Five do, albeit in jelly-like panda form.

"Who dares challenge the Dragon Warrior?! Shao! Hyah!"

Po rubbed his eyes and found Allen standing nearby.

"Oh! Crap, what time is it?!" Po tried to run but stumbled. "Ahhh! Shifu's gonna kill me!"

Allen sighed, grabbed Po by the scruff of his neck, and jumped out of the dorms.

...

"Whoa! Ahhhh!! We are flying!! Or falling with style which is AMAZING!!!"

Allen landed with Po alongside the Furious Five, who were already lined up waiting for Shifu.

Tigress looked warily at Allen and scornfully at Po. To her, neither was particularly welcome. Viper glanced at Po with curiosity; the panda didn't give up, but her gaze toward Allen was still fearful.

Monkey, Mantis, and Crane were less afraid of Allen since they had spoken to him the day before, and he hadn't seemed bloodthirsty or terrifying. Well, they were still alive, which showed he at least wasn't going to eat them. Why was this the first thought the three had upon seeing a human? Who knows?

The large doors before the Furious Five opened, and Shifu entered.

[I.M.] "Looks like Shifu didn't make a dramatic entrance this time…"

Kara – I thought it was strange he always dropped from the sky; I thought it was a habit or a trait of his species.

Kimiko – What kind of animal is Shifu?

Barbara – He's a red panda…

Starfire – Hmm? But he doesn't look anything like Po, even though he's a panda too.

Gwen – Giant pandas like Po are one of eight bear species worldwide. But red pandas belong to a different family. They're said to be like living fossils.

Starfire – "…"

Nikky – They're cousins :D

Gwen – Yeah… cousins -_-

Starfire – Oh, I see!~

...

Shifu looked over the Furious Five with a simple gaze. Unless something unusual happened, his students didn't normally fail to show up in the morning. But seeing the panda was a slight surprise; he hadn't expected him so early, especially given the outcome of yesterday's training.

This time, Shifu didn't wait for Oogway to pass on before trying to train Po. But, as expected, Po couldn't keep up with the training regimen. It made sense since Po hadn't been a warrior before he was chosen as the Dragon Warrior.

"Panda…" Shifu nodded, and Po felt happy, wanting to celebrate. But Allen, watching from the side, warned him not to mess it up. Po covered his mouth and greeted Shifu.

"Honorable guest… would you like to join us in training?"

Once he accepted Allen's presence as a guest of Oogway, Shifu's attitude was respectful, as if he were hosting a guest of good social standing. After all, the Valley of Peace is only one part of this world's China.

"Master Shifu, I'd like to join your training…" Allen, unused to it, attempted a respectful gesture by covering his fist with his hand.

Shifu could tell Allen wasn't accustomed to it, but he tried anyway, putting him in a good mood and confusing the Furious Five, who didn't understand their master's change in attitude toward Allen.

...

Everyone cleared the center of the courtyard, where a drawing on the ground resembled a ring for regulated combat.

"This is gonna be awesome!" Po bounced as he watched with amazement.

"Po, haven't you done it before?"

Allen and many onlookers recalled that Shifu had shown no mercy when he tried to get rid of Po.

"Yes, I did! They beat me up, and Shifu kicked me down the stairs, hahaha."

"…"

Tony – Well, staying positive always helps…

McDragon – Maybe I could learn some optimism from that panda.

PercyJ – I like that panda. Sometimes life is rough, and his 'everything's gonna be alright' attitude is contagious."

Po went first, facing Monkey, who wielded a staff.

[I.M] "I suppose it's a reference."

Captain America – I know! That's a reference to Sun Wukong!

Tony – Hey, who taught Rogers how to use Chat?

Kratos – What is this?

[Notice: All viewers are reminded they don't need to type in Chat to comment. If they activate the feature now called 'smart assistance,' they can comment by speaking or thinking.]

Muhammad Ali – Are you telling me I spent a month teaching a bear to use a keyboard for nothing?

Yuri – Thanks anyway, Ali~

Muhammad Ali – "…"

Hulk – Hulk can now comment without Banner's help!

Kratos – Who are you people?... and what curse have you put on me this time?...

Rias – It looks like there are more new guests~

Akeno – This strange aura in Chat feels like they're from another world, just like us~

Doomslayer – *Furious tremors on detecting demons*.

Rias – Akeno, did you feel a chill for no reason?

Akeno – … yes.

[Notice: Real conflict between Chat users is prohibited. If anyone threatens another's safety, they will be permanently banned, and their world will be restricted.]

Doomslayer – *Depressive, non-furious tremor*

Rias – Thanks, moderator; I don't know why, but thank you…

Akeno – Yes, thanks~

(Allen: Easy Doom I know you hate demons but don't touch the waifus🍷🗿)

...

The fight between Monkey and Po began if one could call it a fight, with Monkey hitting Po unilaterally with his staff. Luckily for Po, being a big panda, he had a natural shield of fat, so he barely felt many of the blows.

Irritated, Monkey aimed a strike at Po's groin. The panda, expecting this, quickly closed his legs, trapping Monkey's staff.

This surprised everyone, including Allen and Shifu, but the astonishment didn't last long; when Po tried to counterattack, he stumbled under his own weight and fell.

Monkey looked at his opponent, feeling embarrassed to have even been put in danger.

Po raised a thumb. "I'm fine, don't worry about me!"

Shifu was about to shout at him but, seeing their "guest," took a deep breath and tried to keep his emotions in check.

"Next!"

The next matches went similarly. However, occasionally, Po managed to block an attack, dodge a move, or even counterattack (though without success, he tried).

Finally, Tigress stepped onto the ring with an aggressive look, and Po instinctively backed away, hiding behind Allen, unwilling to fight.

"I don't care about beating up the panda again. I need a rematch" Tigress bowed with her fist covered by her paw, "Honorable guest."

Tigress may have a strong personality, but she respects Shifu deeply, and since he treated Allen courteously, she wouldn't dishonor that. However, grudges are not forgotten—she sought to defeat Allen.

Which was impossible… unless…

Allen stepped forward, deliberately suppressing his power and abilities as much as he could. No advantages, no powers, no passive skills, no ki, no energy of any kind… he even minimized his resilience. Yet even with all that, he was still too strong.

Shifu didn't interrupt the scene, as he was curious about their guest's abilities as well. The rest of the Furious Five exchanged anxious glances. Po, unaware of the tension in the air, looked on in amazement, resembling an overly enthusiastic fan watching Allen. Po was, quite literally, half the Chat at this moment.

As the last guest in person, a soft gust of wind blew, accompanied by peach blossoms, and Oogway appeared on the rooftop.

Aphrodite – Ah~ even holding back, he's still too attractive ❤️~

Annie – Are you okay?~

Raven – Ignore that goddess... she's always like that…

Cate – Looks like Allen has quite a few admirers…

Emma W. – It's inevitable; he's a celebrity among celebrities in our world…

Megan – That's right… there are women so obsessed they've done crazy things… isn't that right, Hermione?~

Emma W. – Shut up!

...

Tigress scrutinized Allen closely, still feeling the lingering fear in his presence. Nevertheless, she didn't let the instinct to flee overpower her; she wouldn't waver or surrender.

Both Shifu and Oogway showed their approval of Tigress's courage, and Allen smiled slightly, impressed by her bravery. Not that Allen considered himself invincible, but he'd be foolish not to understand the kind of monster he appears to his opponents. Plus, he had firsthand experience in facing absurdly powerful creatures.

Tigress took her stance. Allen didn't—he wasn't underestimating Tigress; he simply didn't have a defined fighting stance.

...

*Shifu's POV*

Allen Walker… what an unusual name; it doesn't seem Chinese, yet the Valley of Peace lies deep within China. Did he come solely for my master, or is he on some sort of journey?

The panda remains an embarrassment, but at times... no, he's still an embarrassment. However, right now, it doesn't matter.

Tigress appeared uneasy, even insulted that Allen didn't take a stance. You're young, Tigress; even without a guard, he has no exposed weak points or openings.

Tigress attacked fiercely; amazingly, she managed it, Monkey and Crane would have hesitated, and Mantis and Viper wouldn't have attacked directly.

"...!"

Allen tilted his head to dodge, grazing Tigress's strike, which she quickly followed up with a forward step. In response, Allen stepped into her path, causing her to lose her footing, then lightly tapped her abdomen, forcing her to step back almost to the ring's edge. Not that the fight would end if she crossed the line, but it would be humiliating for a warrior of her caliber, a clear sign she couldn't win.

To avoid that, Tigress dug her claws into the ground to halt her momentum... impressive... but what?!

WHAT?!

The human's movements are extremely fluid!... he only makes the smallest adjustments to evade, almost imperceptibly! He has no form or rhythm.. he adapts his footwork to his opponent!

An adaptive style with no form?! No… he has no combat style!... It's simply experienced... an overwhelming amount of combat experience… but even masters who have spent their entire lives training wouldn't fight like this?!

Why?!

What kind of monsters has he faced to become so formidable without even practicing a simple basic posture?!

"Master Oogway... what is him?!"

*End of POV*

While Shifu confirmed Allen's power, Oogway watched with both admiration and a little sadness.

"..."

...

The "fight" dragged on for an hour. Allen had no intention of hurting Tigress and just dodged, which made her frustrated and kept her attacking relentlessly without success.

'There is too much difference!!' Tigress knew her attacks couldn't harm Allen, and he knew it too. Yet, he chose to dodge her strikes to preserve her dignity. 'Tsk...There was no fight from beginning to end…'

Tigress stopped attacking, totally exhausted; there was no teasing from her comrades or disappointment in Shifu to make her feel worse.

"That was incredible! I could barely follow their movements; they were going back and forth, the jumps, the kicks, the dodges just inches from each hit, it was so cool!!" Po, being Po, broke the heavy atmosphere all at once.

"Shut up, panda!"

Tigress caught her breath and bowed to Allen, "Thank you for the lesson, master."

It was needless to say even if Tigress didn't like him, she now had to acknowledge Allen.

The other members of the Furious Five, being in a similar position, also bowed, and Po followed their example.

Allen, meanwhile, was unsure if he should accept such a title, he'd never trained in martial arts; all his skills came from life-or-death battles and his own understanding. If it were about the sword, it would be different, as he had received training from Antiope and Artoria.

Still, not wanting to be disrespectful, Allen returned the gesture to the Furious Five and Po.

Oogway smiled, both Allen not wanting to humiliate his opponent, Tigress acknowledging her defeat, and even Po bringing joy to such a heavy moment is a welcome sight for the old tortoise. However, Oogway's smile disappeared into the distance, 'When the time comes, all debts must be paid...'.

...

(Meanwhile, in the maximum-security prison designed exclusively for Tai Lung)

Several guards discussed the existence of the Dragon Warrior. Not realizing that someone was listening carefully.

"I see..." said Tai Lung.

Allen had noticed that there were certain differences from the original story, but he hadn't anticipated it would be this many.

The first clue was his encounter with Po outside the Valley of Peace, which shouldn't have happened. The second was Oogway's attitude and attire—he should've worn an old robe adorned with peach tree branches, not one with the eight trigrams of Yin and Yang. But the biggest difference from the original canon was in a place his eyes couldn't reach.

"So, my suspicion was right… the Dragon Warrior has appeared…"

Originally, Shifu was supposed to send Zeng to check the security in the prison, which would have led to Tai Lung's escape when one of Zeng's feathers fell, and Tai Lung used it to free himself.

This time, however, Tai Lung's containment device was different. The original shell wasn't there to restrain him; the darts had been replaced with swords designed to pierce his body if he moved.

Tai Lung's eyes gleamed. "It's time to get out…"

His body tensed, along with the chains that held him. The sound of metal echoed through the pit, alerting hundreds of rhino guards, armed and trained.

"What?" the prison warden muttered in disbelief before shouting, "Tai Lung is trying to escape!!"

With that shout, a smile spread across Tai Lung's face. "I'm not *trying* to escape… you never held me prisoner in the first place…"

The device's mechanism activated, driving the swords toward him, but something incredible happened—they couldn't pierce his skin. Then the shell began to crack.

"This is impossible… it's been twenty years! We rarely gave him food or water… he never moved from that spot! How could he not only maintain his strength but increase it?!"

The answer lay in the change to the device. The original was designed to contain Tai Lung, but this one was meant to kill him. Over twenty years, Tai Lung had done nothing but meditate in a state of semi-hibernation, slowly learning that if he activated the device gradually, it wouldn't kill him, but it would slightly puncture his skin each time.

Tai Lung had used this constant threat and slight injuries over time to temper his body. Repeating this over the years… Tai Lung stopped feeling pain… stopped bleeding… he could no longer be harmed…

Now he was no longer trapped, but even so, he didn't escape—he wasn't sure if his strength would be enough to defeat Oogway and his powerful chi. But the appearance of the Dragon Warrior had changed his mind.

Cracks spread across the shell until it finally shattered into pieces. Tai Lung was free… now even stronger and more terrifying, as he ripped the chains from the wall without hesitation.

"Now… anyone who stands in my way will die…"
