Chapter 255 - 255 A Fight to the Death, Infinity Stones, A God and A Human

Arriving at this point, there were no doubts about Allen's actions. In the past Allen let Loki go once, perhaps out of pity, perhaps because he wasn't simply someone perverted by ambition and power.

Deep down, it seemed Loki could redeem himself, but that decision led to this situation.

Allen managed to stop the invasion almost as soon as it began by sending all the Avengers, his dolls, his girls, and even bringing help from DC. Saying it was a brilliant move falls short, but nothing is perfect, and avoiding losses in a large-scale invasion using the power of two Infinity Stones is impossible.

Tokyo suffered the worst; unfortunately, even if Carol stopped the energy pillar, it managed to vaporize a couple of buildings, and being a densely populated city, the result is evident with the loss of thousands of lives.

...

(With Allen in New York.)

Allen didn't stream it to his viewers; he had the system streaming invasions from other places but not his confrontation with Loki.

At this moment, Allen wasn't in the mindset to entertain anyone. Indeed, it's not the first time Allen has had a fight where he can't be distracted by Chat.

It was like that with Superman, it was like that with Sentry, it was like that with the Boggart... even when the last thing on Allen's mind is entertainment, he allowed everyone to watch his fights...

But this time, no, this time Allen doesn't want them to see him, he doesn't want to show them an unpleasant image.

With a shockwave that turned the sky purple, Allen's anger was unleashed worldwide.

If possible, Allen would have destroyed all the portals; unfortunately, his control over his Ki is not precise enough to do something so delicate, so Allen limited himself to destroying the portal behind him.

"All right, after Loki, I'll destroy the portals," Allen said as he looked at New York; there are still Chitauri left, but the girls and Shield agents should be able to stop them.

[Of course, if Loki's fall closes the portals, that's even better.]

'Yeah...'

After setting everything else aside, Allen focused on Loki.

Loki held his nose as he sweated; half of that sweat was because of Allen, the other half because of the burden generated by the stones.

Loki tried to focus his thoughts. 'There are no second chances... one blow and I'm dead... it was to be expected, that brat destroyed the Destroyer's armor... that brat plans to finish me off, if I'm not careful... I guess I deserve it but this is necessary, no king ascends without difficulty... maybe this is my final obstacle...'

Loki smiled haughtily, condescendingly, and confidently. "Hahaha, all right mortal! I am Loki! The god of lies and deceit! I have fought against all kinds of creatures that exist only in tales for you for centuries!!"

Whether it's a lie or the truth, nothing can be trusted coming out of Loki's mouth.

"I see..." Allen's response came with indifference.

....

Loki's eyes sharpened. 'I don't understand it, the world around me stops every time I use the Mind Stone,' Loki blinked. 'I don't understand it, even with my mind being able to perceive all things, I can see my brother's lightning in the sky stopped, I can perceive the movement of the planet, I can calculate the speed at which the universe expands, that is the power of the Mind Stone... and yet I am unable to understand why you are here, Allen Walker!'

Allen was about to hit Loki, he had a thin layer of divine Ki and the power of destruction enveloped him. He was serious!

Loki teleported to another position. Allen squinted. Loki extended his hand, and several space portals appeared over Allen, dropping several buildings onto him.

Since there were no people, Allen destroyed it by expanding his Ki, then pointed at Loki and fired a Ki beam.

Loki dodged it by teleporting, but apparently, another Ki blast was about to hit him. Loki teleported again, even faster and multiple times, and Allen attacked him while his hand moved blurrily.

This continued hundreds of times until Allen managed to predict where Loki would go and fired a thin, faster burst of concentrated energy.

Loki opened his eyes as he was pierced, but his look of astonishment turned into a smile.

"An illusion?"

Allen took a step to the right, and a lance pierced the floor of the building; focusing on the origin, Allen saw a green portal with a Loki coming out of it.

A hundred more portals opened around Allen with Loki clones, all of them holding green spears.

'This is...'

Allen grabbed one of the spears and destroyed it; they were not illusions but magical bodies. Loki's magic had reached an enormous level with the Mind Stone.

It was very problematic for Allen to deal with a bearer of two Infinity Stones. But how is something like this possible?

Allen observed closely as Loki's spears pierced the building in all directions, destroying it; there were no people nearby, so collateral damage was irrelevant.

Floating in the sky, Allen expanded his Ki in all directions to destroy space itself to harm Loki.

This worked, and Loki appeared with a wound in his chest, but he immediately healed it with a healing spell.

Something like that shouldn't be possible for Loki.

At that moment, Allen noticed a residual image superimposed on Loki for a moment; that was very strange as if two Lokis were in the same position and place.

At that moment, Allen opened his eyes and understood; it was true that no one can handle more than one Infinity Stone at the same time without suffering the consequences, but Loki not only achieved it but was also fighting Allen like this.

Loki smiled tiredly, then his hands lit up in blue and green, it was his magic and the power of the Tesseract. A portal opened next to Allen, and immediately a terrible gravity began to affect the city. Allen immediately blocked this with a shield of Ki.

Loki didn't give up and laughed with a trace of madness, "All right, how about this?!" More massive portals appeared, one led to a supernova, another to a black hole, another to emptiness, another to a dimension where everything was burning, and one led to an illogical place with strange creatures.

"Loki!"

Everything behind those portals could destroy the Earth; Allen was upset, restraining himself from damaging the Earth, but Loki had no qualms about anything.

Allen raised his hand, and several Hakai spheres appeared and headed toward the portals to destroy them. Each portal exploded, closing; still, there were slight changes in Earth's orbit, which Allen must correct, but that's a problem for later.

Taking advantage of Allen's distraction, Loki appeared behind him with his scepter. Loki created dozens of magic circles around Allen; this was not Asgardian magic.

Annoyed, Allen launched a Ki blast that pierced the circles before they enclosed him and passed through Loki's arm.

"Ahhh!"

Loki summoned his Uru dagger and cut off his own arm as it was being destroyed by the Hakai. After cutting it off, Loki cursed; at that moment, Allen's arm pierced his magic and almost grabbed him by the neck.

Allen shot out at great speed; Loki just moved at great speed, escaping. There was no doubt Allen Walker wanted to kill him.

"What's with that mortal face?! Is this what you are now?!"

Loki used his words to try to disturb Allen's mentality; after all, the god of deceit used his words as weapons.

Allen, for his part, did not respond to Loki's provocations; his gaze was serious and his face serene. It was true he wasn't afraid to kill Loki. But in Allen's mind, there was more than just violence.

"Haven't you understood, Loki?" Allen looked at the god before becoming a blur and appearing; Loki teleported at the last moment.

*Allen's POV*

Every person in this world lives their life, has their problems, their dreams, their fears, their place, whether good or bad, whether cruel, sad, unjust, or on the contrary, born with a silver spoon, everyone has their story.

Loki...

I know you also have your story, I know you have problems with your father and brother, and I know you have your fears and ambitions.

Once I let you go, perhaps in part because my power was too great after obtaining the core of a destruction god, and I felt free to show mercy...

Mercy? No, the truth is, I was afraid of staining my hands with blood...

I was afraid...

Would I have nightmares?

Would I go insane?

Would I suffer from depression?

And worst of all, I was afraid that I would stop caring about life, that deep down I would be a monster. You might think I'm paranoid, but look at Han Pim, a recognized hero in his world; he admitted that even if he returned to being human, he couldn't forget the taste of human flesh and would become a cannibal by choice.

I thought... could Allen Walker be a potential psychopath? Would I lose myself in power and become a villain?

But I can't run forever, and I have changed, even if I don't like myself or even if I never wanted to change, the world forced me, or was it destiny?

No, no one forced me; I did it of my own free will because mercy is something beautiful, and compassion and kindness are too, but I am not powerful enough to afford them.

That's why I'm here, Loki...

But what about you?

You have no excuses or complaints, do you?

You knew from the beginning that this could happen, didn't you?

I refuse to believe that you could commit an act comparable to genocide in my home without being prepared to pay with your life!!

That's how the world is!!

That's life!!

You have your story, and I have mine; you want to be king, and I want to protect my world!!

I won't let you escape from your decisions!!!

Let's go, Loki...

Let our desires clash...

Let our wills clash...

Let our stories clash...

In the end, the one who remains standing will be right!!!

*End of POV*

...

"Haven't you understood?!" Allen exclaimed. "This isn't about you! Get your head out of your ego for a moment and see what you've done just to obtain a damn throne!!"

"..."

Loki paused his movements for a moment and looked at the city with Chitauri fighting humans everywhere.

"Suppose you win, will you rule over a bunch of corpses?"

Loki clenched his fist but didn't deny Allen's words because deep down, he thought the same. From the beginning, this plan had no real future.

However, it was too late; Loki drew his dagger and looked at Allen. "Mortal, I forged my entire life with a single goal, and if this is the result of my decisions, I accept it!"

Allen controlled his breathing and looked at Loki coldly. "Was it necessary to use my world for your purpose?"

"..." Loki didn't answer.

Loki was a slave to his purpose, a prisoner of his desires, a man who knew nothing but following his destiny.

Loki raised his scepter with his right hand and his Uru dagger with his left hand.

Allen said nothing more, but he could see the end of this confrontation; the reason Loki could use two Infinity Stones was an illusion.

That's right, Loki created an illusion of himself so strong that it practically emulated a second body superimposed on his original body. It's madness, but thanks to that madness, Loki achieved the unthinkable.

...

Allen stopped talking and crossed the sky towards Loki with a clenched fist; this time it was a bit more serious even though the world was affected a bit.

Allen's eyes appeared in Loki's line of sight; he defended himself with a shield, but Allen's fist was so strong that the space around him visibly affected it.

Upon striking Loki's shield, it collapsed, and the entire sky split across several continents.

Loki appeared elsewhere; with each passing second, death loomed over the god, and he knew it; it was a matter of one attack, and everything would end.

"Hahahaha!"

Allen narrowed his eyes as the god of lies laughed with delight; perhaps it was the end of his life, perhaps there was no redemption, but Loki wouldn't leave in tragedy.

"Crown Saber..."

In Allen's hand, his sword appeared; even before he was killed, his innocence assumed the heavy burden of taking lives so that Allen wouldn't have to.

The beautiful sword gleamed white, gray and gold shone in Allen's hands.

A/N: In the MCU they made the infinity stones to be like poison for everyone but in the comics they are not that hard to use.
