Chapter 253 - 253 Massive backlash, Return of the King, and DC invades Marvel

(Tokyo, Japan)

With an incandescent flash, the sky of Japan went from being tinged green by Loki's magic to red by the Chitauri weapon.

A catastrophic event occurred when the deadly energy pillar fell. Everyone expected the city to vanish, but unexpectedly, the energy within the pillar began to diminish.

The Chitauri high command was confused: what was happening?

Amidst the energy pillar, a figure enveloped in light absorbed the attack into their own body.

"Damn it, you'll pay for this!"

She had a bracelet that allowed the system to teleport her anywhere in the world instantly.

The reason Captain Marvel was angry was because she was taking a bath when she was forced to teleport, so she was dragged naked from her apartment and cast into an energy stream without warning.

"Allen Walker, this was not part of the deal!"

...

Hulk went through the same as Carol and was teleported by the system to the skies of Moscow.

The invasion in Moscow consisted of only Chitauri Leviathan which are the prehistoric-looking monsters that fly, there were almost fifty in the sky.

Hulk was immediately devoured while he slept.

"AHHHHH!!!"

The monster that ate him exploded shortly after as an enraged Hulk appeared in the sky with veins bulging with gamma radiation. Hulk fell to the ground, creating a crater. He was furious and didn't know who or why they had attacked him while he was sleeping, but they put him in a bad mood.

Looking up, he saw a swarm of creatures resembling prehistoric flying fish.

"Hulk did not know who they were, but HULK SMASH!"

Hulk leaped into the sky, smashing a Chitauri Leviathan, then landed blows on another, and with clenched fists, struck two more in mid-air, crashing into a building.

Unfortunately, preventing city damage was impossible, but it could be minimized with immediate superhero intervention.

...

Thor wanted to stay in New York but understood Loki had opened several portals and needed to be where it was most dangerous. He found himself in Delhi, India, a city with a population of thirty million.

Loki not only chose the most populous cities, but the most important, whether for economic, cultural, or historical significance.

He chose Hong Kong, and Moscow to strike at world powers, and chose New York for its economic value. He chose Paris and London for their iconic status. He chose Mexico City, Tokyo, Japan, and Sao Paulo, Brazil for their size and population.

He had to prove he meant business and would hit where it hurt the world.

"Brother, I hope you're ready for the consequences!"

In the sky above Thor, a massive army of Chitauri descended like a plague: thousands of them.

Thor was furious. Because of Loki, there was no way to hold his head high. His father swore to defend the nine realms, but one of his sons was doing this!

The cloudy sky roared with a thunderous sound as electrical discharges ran through it. Thor's eyes lit up, his body seeming to charge with static electricity.

"LOKI!!!"

With Thor's roar, the sky exploded, electrocuting the flying Chitauri, yet many more emerged from the portal.

Thousands of Chitauri warriors fell to Thor's fury, but many more came out of the portal in flying vehicles and ships. They were like an endless wave.

This is madness Loki.... even if you won you could not rule, they are using you!". Thor gritted his teeth in annoyance.

...

Tony went to Sao Paulo: or rather, appeared there against his will. He still had his cup of coffee and didn't quite understand why he was there, but seeing the sky as a gigantic ship entered through a portal, he understood.

"It's like Independence Day."

Tony lamented; he liked that cup, but he threw it into a trash can and called for the Prime armor.

The pieces of the armor seemed to materialize out of thin air around him.

"Jarvis, do you hear me?"

"Yes, Mr. Stark. I must say, I was taken by surprise when we moved four thousand seven hundred miles out of nowhere."

"Tell me about it. I couldn't even finish my coffee." Tony became serious as he flew into the sky. "Jarvis, what can you tell me?"

"Mr. Stark, Earth is suffering a large-scale invasion. I detect ten spatial anomalies in ten different locations."

"I see. Can you tell me where everyone is?"

...

In New York, Captain Rogers also appeared. He was commanding several squads of well-armed S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, and the helicarrier was ready for action.

Gwen, MJ, and Natasha were also there. Allen didn't try to talk them out of participating. This was their home and they wanted to protect it, so he granted his girls their wish and let them fight.

"I won't let them destroy my home again." Natasha wore her Black Widow suit as she watched the sky from a building. She had spider powers, curiously now she could live up to her nickname.

MJ and Gwen had grown accustomed to being superheroes, so they weren't nervous.

"Gwen, your parents?" MJ asked, knowing Gwen still had parents to worry about unlike her.

Gwen smiled. "Don't worry, they'll be fine."

They would be, Allen wasn't going to leave his in-laws unprotected.

With the Avengers deployed and busy, there were still unprotected cities, but one question remained: how could they respond so quickly to the problem?

...

The day before the invasion, Allen remained silent. He could shield the entire planet, and it wasn't really difficult for him at this point. But the problem is that they'll come through a space portal; there are spells capable of blocking teleports, like the one used at Hogwarts to prevent 'Apparition'. However, Allen couldn't ensure his magic could block the power of the Tesseract.

After contemplating his options for a while, Allen spoke calmly. "Fury... I have an idea."

Fury was surprised to be infected by Allen's calmness. He was bewildered that just a few casual words could lift so much weight off him. Of course, it had a lot to do with who said those words.

Allen wasn't going to be passive; this was his world. Allowing the apocalypse to happen and then fighting it was unpleasant. So, from the beginning, Allen left three things.

Nokotan climbed onto Allen's back, and once she reached the top of Allen's head, she wiped away the sweat and planted a flag with the image of a deer over his head, as if she had discovered a new continent.

"What are you doing?"

"It's one small step for a deer but a giant step for a man."

"I see." (He didn't understand)

...

The first thing Allen did was create a shield around the entire planet. It wasn't a big deal to start, Earth wasn't even a big planet, although this defense was of little use against a space portal.

The second thing was a detection spell that could detect changes in the fabric of space, and another spell to detect the use of magic for that he needed help from the system and had monitored everything at all times.

The third was simpler; he gave each of the Avengers a bracelet so the system could know where they were at all times.

With these three things, with just these three things, Allen could anticipate and minimize the damage Loki could cause and then worry about any madness Waller could do in DC.

...

Certainly, there were more cities, and unfortunately, the Avengers were not enough, so Allen deployed his dolls and sought help from some people from DC.

In London, it was a standard invasion, with thousands of Chitauri warriors and some Chitauri Leviathans.

Amidst the chaos, with people screaming and running, and the police struggling to shoot down flying vehicles, buying time until the army arrived, a person was walking down the streets in the opposite direction of everyone fleeing.

The sound of the metal of her armor was lost amidst the screams of tens of thousands of panicked people.

...

"Mom!"

A girl who had been separated from her mother in the confusion cried inconsolably while no one seemed to care about her. It's normal; most people have their survival instincts activated and have no headspace to think about anyone but themselves and perhaps their loved ones.

A hand clad in armor picked up a teddy bear and cleaned it before handing it to the girl.

"Are you okay?"

The girl stopped crying and looked at the woman who seemed to have stepped out of a fairy tale wearing armor in the street. Far from looking ridiculous, the girl was amazed, either by her bearing and presence or by the woman's beauty; she simply stopped moving.

Artoria looked at the girl and then scanned different directions until she saw a woman in a car a street away, shouting desperately. Unfortunately, her cries were drowned out by the crowd's hysteria.

Artoria took the girl's hand and appeared right next to the woman.

"ALICE!"

"MOM!"

The woman jumped out of the car and hugged her daughter while crying. The girl cried too, but she noticed that the armor-clad sister was already leaving.

"Wait!"

The woman also noticed the young woman was leaving and wanted to stop her but realized something and stopped her actions and kneeled.

"You don't need to do this..." Artoria said without changing her expression.

"I'm s-sorry." The woman had cold sweat on her back. "Th-thank you so much for saving my little one, Your Majesty."

"Just take care of your daughter." Artoria looked at the girl and the mother, she smiled slightly and resumed walking.

At that moment, more people became aware of Artoria's existence. Of course, many wouldn't know her identity, but due to the fame generated by Allen, it was known that a female version of King Arthur existed in their world.

Obviously, King Arthur is a legend, and even if he were real, Artoria wasn't their King Arthur. But strangely, a feeling other than fear spread, and out of nowhere, many more people started kneeling.

Artoria wasn't going to convince them she wasn't their King, so she simply turned around to deal with the Chitauri.

Of course, this anomaly was detected by the Chitauri who were currently focused on attacking law enforcement. Unlike the canon, they didn't come crazily killing anyone they saw; they had a real strategy: first attack law enforcement and humans who could pose a threat, then take control of military installations, and finally governments.

Seeing Artoria walking calmly in the streets drew a lot of attention, including those who recorded it to upload it to social media, something unnecessary as the system was already broadcasting the invasion live.

Artoria calmly unsheathed her sword.

"It's ironic that I return to this land so many years later..." Artoria smiled slightly, almost imperceptibly. "I failed to protect my kingdom not once but twice..."

Artoria's sword gleamed as golden ashes began to appear around her. The Chitauri flew towards her in unison.

Still maintaining her composure and bearing, the legend stepped onto her native land once more.

"Excalibur!" The Chitauri were engulfed in light before they even realized they were facing a very dangerous enemy. The sky lit up with a golden light that outshone Loki's green.

...

In Mexico City, which held the title of the largest city in the world.

Colossal ships were entering one after another until one of them exploded.

A woman in red and blue flew through the ship; she was Kara and had come to this world to help.

"I think you don't need help." Raven floated, just watching, but she saw debris from the ship falling into the city and used her powers to stop the rubble. "Hey, remember you're a superheroine, and there are a lot of people below!"

Kara was embarrassed. "I'm sorry, I can't control myself when I see an invasion. Being an alien on Earth, but being treated very well, made me angry at these guys."

"I understand... still, we're in Allen's world..."

Raven was ashamed, remembering what happened that morning. The embarrassing situation of being seen in her underwear by Allen was something that still did not leave her at ease.

Kara was also embarrassed but for different reasons; she had frustration, and for some reason, she couldn't get out of her mind how Allen found her while she was disheveled.

She didn't want to accept that unpleasant feeling, but when Allen asked for help over the phone, she accepted with excitement, put on her superhero suit, fixed herself up, and put on makeup, and perfume, but was teleported to this world and never saw Allen.

"Damn!"

Kara flew and flew through another ship in the sky while Raven grumbled with frustration. It seemed she only came to clean up the mess of the Krypton girl.

...

In Paris, Starfire and Donna were fighting neck to neck while destroying vehicle after vehicle of the Chitauri.

Out of nowhere, a huge robot the size of a building appeared. They remained silent for a moment before reacting.

"Hey, that's cheating!" Starfire complained.

"Hehe, calm down; this is normal, honey~." Donna, who would normally have complained and cursed, now spoke delicately as if she were a refined girl.

Starfire didn't recognize this Donna; she had been acting out of character all day, almost like a different person.

Raven was originally supposed to come with them but ended up unable to stand Donna's annoying laughter and attitude.

"Wow, there are a lot of bad guys~." Donna covered her mouth and then put on a look of justice. "Starfire, we must strive to protect the innocent!~"

"...okay."

Starfire felt an urge to distance herself from Donna. She understood she was a superheroine and fought for good, but in this day and age, no one says those cheesy words of justice and love, etc.

...

Diana was in Hong Kong; she had removed her bracelets, so she didn't need any more help...

A Leviathan charged at her, but she used her hand to stop the giant monster without even moving from her spot.

"Allen..." Diana murmured as she looked in a certain direction.

...

In New York, a pitched battle was underway between S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and Chitauri with the help of Gwen, MJ, Natasha, and Rebecca.
