All I remember was my head hitting the pillow the night I got my notice verifying that I was hired! I no longer had to worry about money cuz I got the third best job in the world, Cleaning up Cleared Rifts and grabbing anything useful that was left behind. I avoided becoming an Adventurer because of the personalities of most of them, even though my father was once the best of the best First SS Class Warriors who had set the standards of S Class Licenses.
He had been trapped in a rift ever since I was seven, because of some of the higher Guilds finally getting rid of him so they could do some shady things behind everyone's backs. Without him or my mother around, I was living off of his expenses he saved up under my name for fifteen years now and was becoming low on money.
I wasn't being a lazy daughter, ever since he was trapped, so I bought my own land in the mountains.
I paid to have my own house/mansion built with secret pathways, hidden bunkers and a large underground storage room enchanted with preservation magic, and a training room with regenerative materials. It was no small sum of money yet it didn't make a dent in my savings when I was ten years old.
Training diligently solo as taught by my father and gathering mana like my mother before she died, I realized I had a large mana pool and higher stamina due to years of training. My punches, defense, and mana manipulation: at the age of twenty-two: were strong enough to be considered S Class.
But I wanted nothing to do with adventurers because of how they trapped my father to his death. So the next best pay is Cleaning Rift Disturbances that have been cleared for items to help me advance in my bottleneck of mana & strength so I can pass the SS barrier.
I had studied my mothers notes on her power and other spells that could be useful in worst case scenarios. I read her note over and over again until my dark blond hair grew down to the middle of my back and my body became toned, plumped, and shapely from my balance of training and reading.
Subspace Control, allows for dimensional pockets to be formed and the larger the pocket the more skilled one is at manipulation of Space-Time.
I already tamed all other elements when I was twelve. Spirit Summoning helped me with cleaning my house and having conversations as my skills increased. As time went on I began to understand their language and after a year I could speak it as well. When I found out that speaking a spell in their language made the spells stronger, I made a vow that I would not show off this skill unless a Calamity Class Danger had occurred.
The tension of stress and hoping for a decent Low Grade that I could do to conceal my strengths in the testing got me an A Class Identification Card, as a Mage, finally hit me when I got approved to work Cleaning Detail.
Apparently not many apply for it, or if they do, not many survive or disappear which I chalked up to what they did to Daddy only on a smaller scale.
Exhaustedly I collapsed on my bed proudly, "Daddy! I did it!" I said loudly as I rolled on to my stomach as I drifted off to sleep. I could see my dads back in all his splendor looking back at me with a smile on his face. I hollard towards him as tears filled my eyes, "I'm coming to find you! I know you can't be put down that easily! I'll make them pay Daddy!"
Surprisingly Daddy who has only looked back at me with kindness, as a father should have, finally moved!
He turned around and embraced me with the warmest hug I longed for and missed his burly frame that felt like an Unshakeable Castle.
His voice reached my ears loud and clear which made me super relaxed, happy, sad, and confused. The tone of his voice seemed like he hadn't aged very much from his prime deep commanding soft tone he only used for me,
"Well Done Daughter! When you find where I'm at I have a present for you, to make up for all the birthdays I missed!"
"I just want you alive and well Papa!" I cried like a little child as he patted my head. "I've been so alone for so long!"
He tensed and quietly asked, "How long has it been for you?"
As four well built beings slowly approached from behind him so they could hear me as well.
Looking only at the man I missed who hasn't aged more than a few years with concern on his face, "Fifteen Years!" He became startled as the little girl he held slowly matched my real appearance, "I can do SS Magic and my strength is only at S Rank!" I Said proudly with tears in my eyes, "Sorry I'm not stronger."
As I hung my head defeated and cried like a child, it brought him back to right here and now and before he could reply I replied as I looked up and said with a sad smile and my eyes closed dripping with tears, "Even though this is a dream!"
Every single one of them flinched.
"I love you Papa! I hope I find you soon!" Tears fell from my eyes as I began to fade away as I started to wake up for my first day on the job.
Father shoved something small into my hands and with a clear loud voice, he'd use it for long distances. He shouted firmly, "Stay Safe! I'll Be The One To Find You! I Swear Sweetheart!"
The mist cleared and I woke up on my bed, pillow filled with tears, stretching my body so I wouldn't be exhausted on my first day of work. Getting out of bed something heavy hit the floor followed by the sound of a chain falling. Startled, I slowly looked down expecting to see a damaged floor by the sounds of it… only to see a small necklace chain with a small version of a green diamond shaped Rift Core attached to the end of it.
Picking it up one word filled my mind and tears re-flooded my eyes, Daddy! Then his oath hit me loud and clear as if he was right behind me, "I will find you! I swear sweetheart!"
He always kept his promises!
And he was going to come find me!
Putting the green jewel around my neck I stumbled as the presence of five people appeared around me as faint dark apparitions. They all seemed to be able to see me but I couldn't make them out except for one that was crouched behind me.
A whisper escaped my lips as the only one that was crouched slowly stood up to confirm,
"Daddy?"
His burly solid frame never had changed as the apparition nodded. Looking past him to the clock on the wall I startled all of them, "Crap! I'm Going To Be Late!" I dashed into one of them beside me as I passed through it. I felt nothing, grabbing my backpack with my stuff in it.
I ran out of the house and down the mountainside as I knew this mountain was like the back of my hand.
Making it to the bottom in record time, not even tired as it was more close to a warm up jog. Taking a quick look around I saw that the five apparitions hadn't moved from their earlier location around me, so I figured it might be in correlation to what their using to make contact, because I'm not that strong to continuously summon five SS Class Entities just yet … I can do three SS Class at most.
Running towards the city quickly yet easily dodging and maneuvering while leaving no trace on the ground so I couldn't be traced back to my home as I made my way to the tallest tower in the city. The Hunters Association!
Stopping about a block from the entrance, I looked around and saw that no one was bothered or couldn't see the apparitions, who were still watching me while glancing around. That then led me to confirm none could see them, so I entered the building with my ID Card in hand as normal as could be.
