There was no prescribed order for completing them; while some might finish their outer covering first, others might tackle their inner covering first. Nonetheless, there were those who could accomplish both tasks back-to-back.
To ensure something that one is unsure of or needs to prove to others, a test must be undertaken. In the case of the outer covering, the process was remarkably simple, as its name implied.
The outer covering referred to the aura that enveloped people's bodies, something those at Level 3 and above could display at will. That's why it was never even a consideration when it came to proving oneself.
