"Mmm~ I'm glad you invited me on this date, Zephiel~ What is this our sixth date now?~" My date giggled softly as she held my hands across the table.

I smiled at my date, holding her hands as well. "Yeah, and each date progressively gets better every time..~"

My day giggled softly and blushed. "Well~ Maybe I'll reward you for all your hard work..~"

Every person has an event in their life that changes them for better or for worse, but I felt like with the way my life was going right now, my life had changed for the better. I had a stunning girlfriend who I loved spending my time with, a nice job, a nice home, and even a nice car. Nothing could bring me down in this very moment and I made sure of it.

My girlfriend and I continued out dates as normal. We laughed and talked about our future together and everything was just wonderful. I felt like I could really spend the rest of my life with this woman...she was absolutely perfect for me. We finished up our dinner and the two of us left the restaurant.

"Ahh~ I'm pretty full~" My girlfriend said and giggled softly.

"Me too, that was a pretty big meal too." I chuckled.

My girlfriend hurried in front of me and smiled at me. "Let's go somewhere more private now..~ I don't think I can make it to your apartment~"

"C'mon, babe...it's literally just down the street." I chuckled.

"I know...but...I want you now..~" She said.

I decided to just give in and follow her. She led me into an alleyway and giggled softly. Suddenly my gut turned and I didn't feel okay anymore. The air felt colder and I stared at my girlfriend as her energy felt off.

"What's wrong babe?~ You're all sweaty all of a sudden, we haven't even started yet~" She said and looked back at me.

"You know...just worried if I can please you is all." I said with a nervous laugh.

"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll satisfy me just fine..~" She said.

I couldn't help but get cold feet and although I wanted to run, my gut told me to keep following as I was already in too deep. We ended up reaching a place that looked abandoned.

My girlfriend turned around to look at me then smiled at me sweetly. "Babe..~ I love you a lot and you know that right?~"

"I-I love you too.." I said.

She smiled at me and walked toward me then hugged me. "You don't have to be nervous..~ Everything is going to be just fine..~"

My heart began beating faster. I looked down and noticed her demonic tail and before I could react, it was too late. She stabbed me on the back with her tail, piercing my heart. She began to kiss me, sucking out my life force then let me fall to the ground.

She looked down at me and revealed her true form to me in my final moments. "Out of all the men I've dated...you by far were my favorite one..~ If only thinks could have been different, I would've spent my life with you...but as they always say, the Devil is a lie. Also if you're wondering, my name is.."

I couldn't hear her anymore. I had lost all my hearing before she said her name. I only knew her by her fake name, Lilac. If only I knew she was a demon, I would've avoided her...if only I knew her intentions...

I was losing life quickly and with only 5 minutes left of brain activity, I couldn't do much. I could barely breathe, I couldn't move...all I could do was lie on the ground and stare at the night sky. Suddenly I heard ringing in my ear then a voice.

"Do you wish to live?"

I heard the voices loud and clear and all I could do was think. 'Who are you..?'

"That doesn't matter right now. Answer my question, do you wish to live?"

I slowly closed my eyes. 'I want to live...'

"Alright...just close your eyes and by the next day, you will be alright..."

I closed my eyes and just like that I was dead on the cold ground.

"I-Is he even alive..?" One voice said.

"Don't be dumb! Of course he's alive, he's still breathing isn't he?" Another said.

"Tell me again why we brought him to our city?" A third voice asked.

"We couldn't just leave him there while those demons are rampaging, plus it wasn't up to us. It was up to our Superior to take him in. She said it was something about his undying soul and inner will... something about humans having the strongest wills or something." A fourth said.

"Oh look he's waking up!"

I grunted softly and sat up slowly, seeing four women in front of me. I paused and stared at them. They stared back at me. It was extremely awkward because none of us knew what to say.

"Uhm...hi?" I said.

"Hi." One of the four said. "My name is Sunakami."

Sunakami was an attractive woman with fair skin, light medium length hair, stretching towards her shoulder, light blue eyes, and a slender figure with a medium bust. She wore a white T-shirt tucked into her dark and grey patterned skirt, along with a navy blue blazer and blue running shoes.

I noticed a magic like interface appear in front of me as I looked at Sunakami.

The more gentle soul of the group was also a beautiful woman with fair skin, pale blonde, long hair reaching to her waist with side bun on her right side, emerald green eyes, and a more curvaceous figure with a large bust. She wore the same uniform as Sunakami but instead of a blazer she wore a beige cardigan with black outlines loosely off her shoulders.

This animated bundle of joy was a beautiful woman with fair skin, dark red hair tied in long twintails reaching to her legs with bright pink ribbons, blue eyes, and a rather thin figure with small breasts. She wore a standard uniform, including a buttoned navy blue blazer with an access badge around her neck, a white shirt and blue ribbon around her collar, and a pleated, plaid black skirt.

"So you're the human our leader told us about. Well you're real lucky that we took you in while we could because those demons are no joke! You know, fighting demons is stressful work and blah blah blah—"

The other three looked at their friend and Kuromi shook her head in disappointment as if this woman rambles all the time about random things.

This yap queen was insanely beautiful with fair skin, pink hair reaching to her legs with an ahoge, heterochromia of blue and orange eyes, and a very appealing figure with a large bust. She wore the same outfit as the other three but hers was seemingly more lazy and chill than the others.

"What's your name?" Blair asked.

I looked at Blair. "My name is Zephiel. I'm...well I used to be a manager at a big time store, but with what she's been rambling about for the last minute, it seems that demons have taken over Earth huh.."

"Correct." Sunakami said and crossed her arms. "As you can probably remember, you were killed by a demon. Her name is Zinnun and she's highly dangerous as she feeds off the life force of men."

"I mean I know that now.." I said then looked down.

"There's no need to beat yourself up about it.." Blair said and looked at me with a reassuring smile. "Demons are tricky beings and will always find ways to deceive humans. You're safe here in Seraph City with us."

I looked at the four women and all of them gave me a reassuring smile. I smiled back and nodded. "Right..."

Sunakami led us down the hallway of the academy we were in. I looked around and noticed all the empty classes. It seemed depressing and gloomy.

"What happened here?" I asked.

"Well to start, we are in Valkyrie Academy one of the many Academies around the entirety of Seraph City. Academies are used for training future Seraphs for fighting demons and other evil entities that plauge Earth and our own city." Sunakami explained.

"How big is Seraph City?" I asked.

"Roughly the size of North America combined." Blair answered.

"Damn." I said.

"That's the same thing I said." Kuromi said.

"Anyway, recently there was an attack on the the entire city. A full on Total War between us and the Demons and Fallen Angels. They were after our Records, ancient relics and information of the old world. One of those Records are the Divine Verses, and another very important Record would be the Reverence Core. After the large scale war, the Seraph Academy District was left better off for worse. While other Academies have been seeing recovery, our Academy has been left for the worst." Sunakami said.

"That's why I've been working so many stupid fucking jobs! To pay off this Academy's debt as we are trying to get it rebuilt. What Suna doesn't tell you is each academy has their own power source and as of right now, our source of power is limited and if we run out of power, we lose our halos thus making us Human again!" Kuromi yelled.

"Why are you yelling at me like it's my fault?" I asked.

Kuromi scoffed and turned her head, crossing her arms.

"I've been saying this for the longest time, after those demons destroyed the Garden of Beginnings, our entire universe has been going awry. Without the Garden, the angels have no true security anymore. These damn demons have gone too far and that's barely the surface! Luckily, all the old heroes of Earth left behind a lot of material for us to work with." Yofiel said.

"I see.." I said.

"We're here. The student council room." Sunakami said then walked inside.

Inside was a beautiful woman sitting at a computer, working on something. She had fair skin, black bob cut hair with bangs and a French-braid styled headband that matched her hair color. She wore red glasses, white star hairpin with red stud and a speaker earpiece. She had elven ears and amber eyes. She wore the same uniform as the other four women but wore an armband signifying that she was the President of the Academy.

"Ayane, we brought him." Sunakami said.

Ayane looked over at us then smiled and stood up. "Welcome!~ Welcome!~ Come in!"

I walked inside with the others and we sat down at the meeting table then Ayane gathered herself then calmed her nerves. I could tell she was nervous, but only for the reason that she wanted to make a good first impression.

"My name is Ayane Akasame, President of the Valkyrie Academy Student Council." Ayane said and held her hand out.

I took her hand on mine then smiled at her. "I'm Zephiel...Thank you for taking me in.."

"It's no issue!~ I didn't want to leave you down there while the demons were rampaging and I could tell you were still alive. It's too dangerous down there now. We aren't even currently strong enough to even save our school, but we still try. Truthfully, we need help. A leader..." Ayane said.

I stared at Ayane then closed my eyes. "I don't really qualify as such...I am but a normal human. I can't fight demons or anything."

"I-I am willing to teach you, if you want..." Ayane said.

I gave it some thought and especially thought about how Zinnun betrayed me and killed me. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath then exhaled. "Alright...but mainly for the fact that I want revenge."

Ayane smiled at me and her elven ears wiggled happily. "I'll do my very best teaching you, but for now I think you should explore our district for a bit and get used to the area. I'm sure Kuromi could show you around since it's nearly time for her to go to work."

"What?! You're just gonna volunteer me?! Look I will only tolerate this clown because you wanted him alive, but spending alone time with this guy? HA!" Kuromi said.

My left eye twitched from annoyance.

"Come on, you act like it's the end of the world...just show him around and get it over with." Sunakami said.

"Rrrnngh...Fine!" Kuromi barked.

"Alright, oh yeah and after you explore a bit, I would like for you to come back here so I can get you registered for this academy okay?" Ayane said.

"Gotcha." I said and stood up.

"Hurry up, Human! I don't have all fucking day." Kuromi said as she walked off.

I watched Kuromi walk off and looked at the others. They all shrugged and wished me luck. I sighed and followed Kuromi, only expecting the absolute worse.
