Chapter 8- Richard's POV

This period reminded me exactly of when my younger sister was kidnapped almost in the same way. I had a Deja Vu my parents went to rescue her and in the process, everything was a setup.

They said my parents had to come without anyone and my sister would be released but instead, they also killed my sister.

Lisa wanted me to ignore the fact that Blaire was missing but I just couldn't. My wolf was restless I couldn't sleep I was skipping meals too. I was so mean to Lisa throughout this encounter but I didn't mean to. My wolf was so aggressive to everyone, it longed for Blaire only atleast to know she was safe.

I had to reach out to my beta, Matt to help with a strategy to get her out of there. We had to be careful with whatever we decided to do it was already the fourth day and nothing yet.

I was beginning to feel helpless and useless just as I felt years back. History mustn't repeat itself and I'd make sure of that even if it meant going there on my own.

It's been six days since Blaire was taken by the nightshade pack and we just got a plan to help her. It's not been easy, definitely not something we could rush into to avoid putting more lives at stake.

Matt and the rest of the pack warriors came up with a plan to go in tonight, the full moon. The reason is that we would all be at our best and stronger too.

As much as I don't like Blaire, she didn't deserve any of these. To be taken by them she was just a weak person but now she is a prisoner of the war.

The other wolves and I took the longer but safer route to the nightshade pack we left early so we could get there by the full moon to rescue Blaire. That's if she was still alive, my heart dropped at the thought of the possibility that she could be dead.

On reaching there, I saw Blaire in the middle of the chamber, she looked so disheveled with her clothes askew, messy hair and from her facial expression you could see how scared she was.

I tried to rush for her but Matt stopped me, "you'll ruin our plans take a deep breathe. We will save her."

Not saying a word I freed my arm from his hand. I was growing impatient, the other guys went to set the fire, hopefully the fire will spread out in five minutes.

Then I saw him, Alpha Gideon the son of the late alpha of the night shade pack he just recently took over authority and was more ruthless than his father.

He just wanted to exert revenge not just on the moon stone pack but directly at me for what I had done to his family. I wouldn't have done anything if his pack didn't strike first.

I saw him talking to Blaire, I wondered what they talked about but she looked so frightened.

After the discussion Blaire was set up to be hanged with the rope around her neck I signaled Matt and Maxwell to follow me.

We went behind and slit the throats of Gideon's guards and the fire was starting to spread.

Trying to fight off the remaining wolves, Gideon escaped with his Luna. Anyway I just wanted to save Blaire but the smoke from the fire was becoming unbearable.

I looked around for a while, scared that something might have happened to her only to see her on the floor looking lifeless. I hurriedly carried her, she struggled to open her eyes, her face was timid and gentle making my protective side fight to get to the surface.

She looked shocked and also relieved when she saw me, I knew I had to hand her over to Maxwell I didn't want her to see how the situation affected me.

After we got to the pack, I felt so settled, my wolf was finally calm and I could finally get some good sleep. Atleast I thought I could, but instead I kept tossing I was still thinking about her, maybe I should just check on her I might feel better.

I got to her room and stood at the front door, away from eyesight, she was still asleep. Maxwell was in there already, it felt good to know that someone around here cared about her. Even though I already called for her friend Mira to come visit, I guess it would help her recover faster.

I just kept staring at her, Maxwell held her hands and jealousy seeped through me with the way he also looked at her but obviously I tried to wave it off I didn't even like her. My wolf was just drawn to her probably because she was our mate.

A lot was still going on in my mind, then she woke up, Maxwell rushed and hugged her like his life depended on it and that made my wolf so angry he growled. "Calm down boy" I said in a low tone.

She seemed genuinely happy to have someone by her side I wanted to rush too and hug her and tell her how happy I was that she was okay but that would send the wrong message. I didn't want her hurt not that I liked her, they were two different things.

I wanted to stay for a while and keep my eyes on her, I felt the need to protect her but then Maxwell stood up like he was leaving the room, I knew I had to bolt.
