Chapter 7 - The Training Session

Meanwhile, in the tiny room in the Gu mansion basement. Li Chen was having a conversation with God of war, making plans about how they would get food and some fresh air.

"I told you we are going to get out using that window"

"But that window seems too small for my body"

"Just let me take over and you will know how easy it is"

"Fine!"

Li Chen gave in and allowed God of War to completely take over. He moved closer to the window and just like God of War had said, his body fitted perfectly in the window and before he knew it, he was standing outside in the garden.

"See I told you it would work" God of War gloated.

"Let head to the kitchen before we get caught" Li Chen was worried that they might get caught and he feared the consequences which were losing his only shelter.

"How come you never tried anything to make money. You said that there is a way for you to make money using something… what did you call it?"

"Stock Markets"

"Yess! That… How are you still so poor and depended on a woman?"

"I need to have a lot of money to start trading the stock market"

"Oh I get it… You need money to make money"

"Yes!"

"That means we have a lot of work to do… I can't leave like this… This is embarrassing. What would my troops say if they knew that I was given a body that is so poor I have to depend on a woman"

"Obviously your troops are all long dead… Ans right now you are not God of War… You are a poor orphan named Li Chen. So live with it"

"Whatever"

As they had their internal conversation, They quickly reached the kitchen. As they made their way inside, Li Chen spotted Auntie Lui packing the dishes.

"What are you doing here, I was going to bring you some food… and how did you get out because the door was locked?" the old lady asked with confusion and worry clearly written on her face.

"Sorry Auntie Lui, I got too hungry. I couldn't take it anymore"

"You haven't answered the question of how you got out"

"The window"

"The window? Don't fool me, that window is too small"

"I am serious Auntie Lui… Anyways let's forget that, can I have some food. I am starving. Haven't eaten the whole day"

"Sure, the food is in the microwave. Help yourself, I am off to bed."

"Thank you Auntie Lui, you are the best"

"Just don't get caught okay"

"Don't worry about me, get some rest Auntie Lui"

The old lady smiled and walked out the kitchen.

Li Chen opened started the microwave and heated his food.

"What is that?"

"It's called a microwave"

"And what does it do?"

"Gosh, I forgot you come from a backward era… It heats the food up. It gets warm like it had just got out the pot"

"What? That sounds fantastic. This era of yours has smart but lazy people. We had to start a fire if we wanted to warm the soup"

"Well this is how it is now… We have a lot of other devices that make life much easier. Let me show you"

"Please, I want to see it all"

Li Chen started introducing all the kitchen appliances to God of War. From another person's perspective, he looked like a mad man touching and starting all the kitchen appliances and staring at them.

Li Chen, eager to avoid any unwanted attention, moved swiftly in the luxurious kitchen. After showcasing the impressive array of kitchen appliances to God of War, he made his way to the microwave. There, he retrieved a plate of food that had been heating, and without wasting a moment, he seated himself and began to eat with haste.

Time was of the essence for Li Chen. He had already spent a considerable amount of time in the kitchen, and the last thing he wanted was to get caught in his clandestine meal. As he savoured each bite, his thoughts raced, knowing that he needed to finish his impromptu meal quickly and make a discreet exit, preserving the secrecy of his indulgence in this world of opulence and privilege.

Li Chen made his way back to the tiny room using the same window.

"That was a great meal… The food is different from what I know"

"I guess… But there are types of food that taste far greater than what we just ate… It just that you need to have a lot of money to eat those"

"We should get it… I want to taste it all… I want to savour all the different meals of this era"

"If we can get a lot of money, it is possible"

"So what are we going to do after your marriage comes to an end?"

"Honestly I don't know."

"You can't say that, we will be homeless"

"Yep we will be homeless"

"What did I ever do to deserve such a vessel!?" God of War lamented.

"I don't know. Maybe it is because of all the people you killed"

"I never killed without reason"

"What would be the reason for you to kill someone"

"Are you asking because you can never kill someone?"

"I don't think I have it in me"

"You are not man enough if you think you don't have guts to kill someone"

"So be it"

"We will see, maybe one day you will change that mindset"

Li Chen started thinking deeply about the words from God of War.

"You do know that I can hear your every single thought… It is like you are sharing them with me"

"Damn.. I no longer have any privacy?"

"No you don't"

"You know what we need to start training this weak body of yours. Are all men in your era this weak or is it just my bad luck?"

"I don't know, what do you think?"

"Do you know that in my era even a ten year old could punch you dead"

"Than I am glad I am not in your era"

"We need to start training I can not take how weak your body is"

"And how do you plan to do that?"

"We will start training here in this room, when we get the chance and bigger space, our training will get more intense"

Li Chen couldn't contain his excitement, he loved martial arts but didn't have funds to pay a master to train him.

Li Chen followed God of War's instructions and moved the bed to the side, opening some little space in the already small room.

As the God of War assumed control of Li Chen's body, a transformation unfolded within the confines of that modest room. It was as though the very essence of martial prowess had come to life, animating Li Chen's form. With purpose and determination, the God of War commenced a series of warm-up exercises to prepare the body for the rigorous training that lay ahead.

Each movement was a testament to the God of War's expertise—a fluid, precise dance that gradually awakened the dormant physical faculties within Li Chen's vessel. The warm-ups were not merely routine; they were a symphony of controlled motion and purposeful stretches, designed to enhance flexibility, strength, and agility.

The God of War guided Li Chen's body through a series of deep stretches, ensuring that every muscle and joint was adequately primed for action. There was a palpable sense of intention in each gesture, a commitment to achieving physical readiness. The room bore witness to this transformation as Li Chen's body, under the martial mastery of the God of War, became a vessel of potential and power.

With every controlled breath and deliberate movement, the body gradually shed its stiffness, making way for the fluidity of martial arts. The warm-up was not a mere formality; it was a sacred ritual, a passage from the ordinary to the extraordinary.

As Li Chen's body responded to the God of War's guidance, it was as though the very essence of martial arts had come alive. The room, once confined and unassuming, now reverberated with the energy of readiness—a testament to the indomitable spirit that resided within, eager to embrace the challenges of training and the path to martial excellence.

After the thorough warm-up, the real training began—the fundamentals of martial arts. It started with the most basic of techniques, the fundamental punches that were the building blocks of combat. As the God of War assumed control of Li Chen's body, an astonishing revelation unfolded before him.

Li Chen's body seemed to effortlessly adapt to the God of War's movements. It was as if this vessel had been specifically crafted for the art of martial combat. The punches flowed with an innate grace, and the precision with which they were executed was nothing short of astounding.

With each punch, the God of War marveled at the seamless fusion of his expertise and Li Chen's newfound physical prowess. It was as though the body had been dormant, waiting for this very moment to awaken its latent potential. The room, once confined and unremarkable, now resonated with the energy of transformation—a testament to the incredible journey of self-discovery that was unfolding.

The basics continued, each movement a revelation of the body's natural aptitude for martial arts. The God of War guided Li Chen's body through stances, strikes, and blocks with a sense of awe and purpose. It was a harmonious union, a partnership that transcended the boundaries of time and existence.

In that modest room, a profound metamorphosis was taking place. Li Chen's body, under the guidance of the God of War, was not just learning martial arts; it was remembering it, as if the very essence of combat had been imprinted in its very core. The room bore witness to this extraordinary journey—a journey of rediscovery and mastery that defied explanation.
