"Me? Rivals with her? No. I was never competing with her so she's not my rival."
Loreen wasn't competing with anyone when she was studying.
She was simply doing her best because her goal back then was to ease her grandparent's exhaustion by at least giving them good results.
After all, they were ones who raised her.
They were also working hard every day for her sake instead of retiring.
Likewise, she wanted to graduate with flying colors so she could enter a job immediately. This way, her grandparents wouldn't work too hard anymore.
Loreen wanted to earn more than enough money for herself and her grandparents so they could stop working and retire.
With those goal in mind, she did her best in all her studies not because she was competing with someone.
"You truly never saw her as a rival?" Edric asked again.
