'That bastard! I must teach him a lesson or two,' Edric fumed.
"See? I never cheated on you, Edric," Loreen appealed.
"Yes, I'm sorry. I was misled. I shouldn't have believed it," Edric held her tight before he knew it.
Seeing her almost get assaulted made his blood boil.
It was so infuriating and yet likewise so scary. She could have gotten hurt from how roughly Roger grabbed her hand and pushed her against the door.
Edric was wide-eyed when he felt something warm against his shirt.
"Hick…"
Loreen was crying.
"I'm so sorry, I should have been there to protect you," Edric held her tighter and gently stroked her hair.
He realized Loreen must have been so terrified that day. She must have never forgotten about it for months for her to cry like this now.
"Did your head and back get hurt back then? Did your hands get injured?"
