Chapter 73: Admitting Their Faults
"Are you saying you truly loved me all these years and still have some of those feelings?" she asked in a low voice as she tried to dry her tears.
"Yes," Edric took a deep breath. This question which was once so easy to answer had become difficult.
He did not want to admit it even to himself, but he felt that he had to tell her right now.
He could choose to simply not answer, but he had an inkling that he had to let her know.
"As I have said earlier, I loved you all these years Loreen."
Somehow, his reply made her cry even more.
Why is she crying now when she took off her ring so easily?
Did she really love him then?
No matter how much he told himself not to be shaken by Loreen's tears ever again, it was so hard when he was used to always comforting her when she cried.
Before he knew it, Edric leaned closer to her and cupped her face. He dried her tears with his thumbs.
