Chapter 21 - 21. Reiga Harold

Arsen opened the door to his office with Arion in his arms. He stepped inside and went to his desk, but stopped when he saw a pile of paperwork on his desk.

Meanwhile, Arion was busy staring at the room that was his father's office. This was not what he had imagined. This room was quite spacious. There was even a sofa to relax on.

'So this is what a king's office looks like.'

Arion looked around the room in awe. He thought the king's office would be a bit dark and gloomy due to the amount of work a king had to do. Surprisingly, this room looks comfortable.

He tried to ignore the pile of paperwork on his father's desk.

Arsen exhaled deeply and decided to sit on the sofa. He stared at his desk full of paperwork with an unhappy look.

"I've only been gone a few minutes and the pile is already growing again? Are you kidding me?" He muttered sourly with a deep form on his forehead.

Arion, who was sitting on his father's lap, looked up to see his face, 'He looks in a bad mood, but he also sounds very tired.'

Arsen who realizing that Arion was staring at him, immediately changed his expression to a more relaxed one. There was even a small smile on his lips. His mood calmed down immediately.

"What should we do now, Arion?" He asked softly, ignoring the pile of paperwork waiting for him to finish. Spending time with his son was more important.

Arion looked at him nervously, 'I don't really want to do anything.'

Although his golden eyes were not as sharp as usual, nor was his aura as cold as usual, Arion was still not used to being alone with him.

Arion glanced at his father's desk, 'After all, you have a lot of work to do.'

The door to the room opened again to reveal a man carrying another pile of papers. He was wearing a knight's outfit that was slightly different from any other knight's uniform he had ever seen.

'Is he a high-ranking knight or something? His clothes are a bit different from other knights.' Arion thought confused. He still didn't know much about the organization of this world, so he didn't understand the difference.

The man noticed their presence and bowed slightly, "Your documents, Your Majesty."

Arion looked at the pile of papers dumbfounded, 'That's a lot.'

Arsen looked at him flatly, "You're ruining the atmosphere, Reiga." He said without emotion. He stared disgustedly at the pile of papers in the man's hand.

The name caught Arion's attention, 'So he's the one called Reiga.'

He remembered his mother saying that this Reiga was the one who usually dared to rebuke or protest his father. After being curious for a long time, he finally got to see the person who dared to challenge a king in person.

"I know you are looking forward to relaxing with the little prince, Your Majesty. But please don't neglect your work." Reiga said politely while placing the papers next to the other piles waiting on Arsen's desk.

"Say it more precisely," Arsen grunted boredly, knowing what he would say next.

"Please don't throw your paperwork at me," Reiga said with a smile. Despite the smile, he had a dark aura directed at Arsen.

Arion gave his father an accusing look, 'So you've always been like that.'

Now Arion knew how Arsen's job fared when he spent too much time with the twins or Natalie.

Arsen stared at him silently before turning to Arion, "He's an annoying person. Stay away from him when you grow up, Arion."

Arion glanced at the annoying person his father mentioned, 'He's quite attractive to me.'

Besides his attractive appearance, Arion got the feeling that this person was a strong person. At least just below his father. His calm aura reminded Arion of Arsen on a normal day. Calm yet deadly.

Reiga's forehead twitched along with the corners of his still-smiling lips, "Respectfully, Your Majesty. Please don't poison the little prince with your false opinion of me. You are ruining my reputation in the eyes of the little prince."

Reiga bowed before Arion with a gentle smile, "Hello, Your Highness. My name is Reiga, Reiga Harold. Your father's right-hand man and assistant. Nice to finally meet you."

His face shone brightly. His aura really felt warm to Arion. This was the first time they had met and he left a good impression on Arion.

"Even if it doesn't look like it, he is one of the royal commanders," Arsen added boredly, although he should have introduced him with a little pride. After all, Reiga was one of the strongest knights in his kingdom.

Arion blinked his eyes in amazement, 'Really? That means he's one of the strongest knights in this kingdom?'

Immediately, a dark aura appeared behind Reiga. His gentle smile turned into a dark laugh, "What do you mean, Your Majesty?"

Arsen didn't care about it. He chose to get up and go to his desk. While sitting in his chair, he adjusted Arion's position to make him comfortable and signaled to Reiga.

"Let's get started."

Reiga sighed patiently and began to serve his king. He handed him some urgent and important documents and put the non-urgent ones away for later.

'So I'm just going to accompany him to work? Seriously?' Arion thought boredly. Looking at the pile of paperwork, he wasn't sure if it would be finished soon.

"Your Majesty, it might be better to put the little prince in his cot for now. I will bring it here." Reiga hesitantly suggested. He looked at the baby on his king's lap with pity, thinking that he might get uncomfortable or bored at some point.

"No need," Arsen said flatly. His eyes didn't stop reading the document and his hands did not stop signing some documents quickly.

Arion rolled his eyes in boredom, 'Just like his wife.'

Reiga shrugged resignedly, "If you say so."

After that, the atmosphere calmed down. Arsen was busy reading and signing the documents. Reiga was busy checking some newly arrived documents before handing them over to Arsen. Seeing them so focused on their work, made Arion feel amazed.

'They look very different from a moment ago.'

Reiga couldn't help but glance at Arion as he took the documents his king had finished.

"Prince Arion is so calm." He said in surprise, even though this was the first time they met in person.

"He's still a baby," Arsen replied briefly without lifting his head.

Reiga frowned, "I remember Prince Eric whining a lot when he accompanied you to work."

He remembered baby Eric protesting a lot and rebelling when the king began to work on the document.

But when Eric returned to his mother, he cried loudly and reached for his father as if he wanted to stay with him. It kept Arsen from doing his work properly for several months.

"And Princess Hana is the most talkative baby I've ever seen." Reiga continued with an amused chuckle.

He remembered the baby Hana who used to fill this room with her chatter until her father couldn't concentrate on his work because he wanted to pay attention to his daughter.

"But for the Prince Arion, don't you think he's too quiet? I thought babies cried a lot." He asked curiously, although in truth he only had so much experience with the twins.

Arsen stopped his hand movements and thought deeply, "This is the first time he's only with me. He must not be used to it.

Reiga shrugged indifferently, "It's possible. You're too scary." He said bluntly without fear.

Arsen's forehead twitched in annoyance, "You're getting more and more fearless every day."

Now it was Arsen's turn who had a dark aura behind him. His eyes looked sharply at Reiga, who was busy moving some documents. His gaze seemed to want to make a hole in the back of his assistant head.

Arion looked at them fearfully, 'Please don't start the killing here. I don't want another trauma.'

To be honest, the atmosphere of the two made him uncomfortable. One felt dark, while the other felt cold.

"If you kill me, you should find someone else who has a lot of sense and patience to work with you," Reiga replied fearlessly, not even bothering to look at his king. He was more focused on tidying up some documents.

Arion wanted to let out a long groan, 'This guy!'

Arsen clucked his tongue but didn't say anything. He knew that what Reiga said was true.

Reiga was one of the few people Arsen could trust with his life, the one who was most loyal to him. He knew that because of their shared past. They would never betray each other's trust.

Arsen ignored him and looked at Arion, who looked as if he wanted to cry in Arsen's eyes. Even though Arion only felt uncomfortable with the atmosphere between them.

Seeing this, Arsen couldn't help but feel guilty. He tightened his hug on Arion while whispering into his tiny ear.

"Sorry, Dad scared you."

Arion was silent and gripped his father's shirt tightly. Just once he wanted to enjoy his father's warmth without the fear he usually had.

He wanted to enjoy this warmth a little longer.
