Chapter 4 - Unknown Grudges

From this experience alone, Tian Yongheng had a bad impression of the Wang Family. The Wang Family's daughter was supposed to be his fiancée. He couldn't help but feel glad that he pushed the matter a few years forward.

Putting all matters aside, Tian Yongheng, Hong Wen, and the others began to eat after their order arrived, chatting and laughing.

...

*Ring!* *Ring!*

Half an hour later, as soon as they had finished eating, Tian Yongheng's phone suddenly rang.

Excusing himself, he picked up the call, and the expression on his face changed drastically.

"Brother Hong, I have to go now, it's an emergency. Please forgive me."

Tian Yongheng said as he quickly picked up his stuff and paid for the food, rushing out from the restaurant.

"Wait - Brother Tian!"

Hong Wen called out to ask if he needed any help, but Tian Yongheng had already exited the restaurant by then, not hearing his voice.

...

On Tian Yongheng's side, the reason why he rushed out was because he had recieved his mother's call.

His father had gotten into an accident and was injured really badly, and he was rushing to the hospital right now.

He didn't bring his car to school today because he was deeply disturbed by his dream last night and wanted a breath of fresh air. So, he had no choice but to run to the hospital, which was several miles away from his current location.

No public transportations were available till a couple of miles from here, as this restaurant was situated in a secluded area but was famous among rich folks for its delicacies, the reason why both Tian Yongheng and the second young master of the Wang Family came here.

Just as he was going through a rural and barren construction site which had been abandoned over a year ago, he sensed something wrong and instinctively looked to his left.

But before he could even react, he suddenly felt a crushing force hit his left arm.

*Wham!*

He instinctively tried to block the unexpected strike, his eyes turning to see what hit me, but the force was simply too strong; he could not resist it at all and was sent a few meters flying, his shoes crushing the concrete underneath his feet, clearly indicating that the force that hit him was ridiculously powerful.

*Bang!*

With a loud bang, he collided against a wall of the construction site, raising dust and wind mixed with droplets of blood into the air.

As the dust slowly settled, Tian Yongheng's figure was revealed, almost kneeling on the ground with his back supported by the half destroyed wall. The impact of his crash wasn't small.

His clothes were torn, his back covered in bruises and his left arm hanging limply with blood leaking out of it, a huge red bruise visible on his elbow, spreading to the shoulder and forearm as well. It wasn't difficult to discern that he was hit by an object around the size of a human fist, perhaps slightly bigger.

He tried to open his half lidded, blood laden eyes, his crimson pupils slightly dimmed as he turned his head to the left. Groaning in pain, he inspected the condition of his left arm.

The skin around the elbow has been torn apart, even the muscles, leading to continuous blood loss...some bones around both the upper arm and forearm are broken, and I also don't feel my shoulder at all...

He speculated inwardly, looking down to see if he had any injuries on his sides.

Fortunately, I put all my strength into my left arm to try and resist that blow...otherwise, the impact would have probably damaged my internal organs as well.

Finally, he turned to face forward, feeling excruciating pain each second, but he didn't have the time to care about that at the moment. Just a split second before the blow landed on his arm, he saw a vague silhouette stretching out an arm towards him, he was confident that it was a person who hit him.

The hand that punched him didn't seem that big and muscular, but the strength it contained far exceeded his imagination.

Even though he had already almost blocked the punch with his arm in panic, it still dealt critical damage to him.

It was so powerful that he was sent flying more than 10 meters away and crashed into the wall, even shattering half of it with his collision.

When the dust fully dissipated, the continous blood loss and the heavy injuries had already put him into a very bad condition. He could barely keep his eyes open at the moment.

The person who attacked me can't possibly be human...is he some sort of superhuman?

However, when Tian Yongheng finally saw the figure who attacked him closing in from the distance, his eyes widened in shock, then disbelief, and soon enough, the look inside of his eyes turned fierce.

"Ye Fan!"

He shouted indignantly, his tone of voice contained a hint of suppressed anger.

Ye Fan was the name of the ordinary looking student who had accidentally bumped into Tian Yongheng yesterday at school. He told the latter his name after thanking him for restraining his people.

Ye Fan didn't reply, just coldly staring at him as he closed in the distance and stopped a few meters away from Tian Yongheng.

At that moment, Tian Yongheng saw another figure appearing from behind Ye Fan.

This time, he was genuinely bewildered.

"Wang Xiaomei!?"

He called out in a loud voice, his tone filled with confusion and a sense of disbelief.

Wang Xiaomei is the name of the eldest young lady of the Wang Family, and someone he was supposed to get engaged to previously.

Even though Wang Xiaomei and Tian Yongheng had never really met each other, he had seen her photos, so he knew how she looked like.

But that was not what was important right now, what was important was why had Ye Fan attacked Tian Yongheng, and why was Wang Xiaomei with him, seemingly acting alongside him?

As if she had seen through his thoughts, Wang Xiaomei slowly spoke up in a icy, arrogant voice.

"Tian Yongheng...the esteemed eldest young master of the prestigious Tian Family, a prodigy revered by all his peers, and a rising star among the younger generation of this city's ancient families that have existed for over half a century. So many titles and epithets were handed to you at your mere birth, and yet, what would people think when they see you like this, utterly helpless, at the feet of two people both lower in status than you?"

She said those venomous words with a mocking gaze, her lips curving upwards into a small smile as she looked down at him. Right now, she didn't look like a mere eighteen year old eldest young lady of a prestigious family at all.

"What...do you m—"

Tian Yongheng's words were cut short as a sharp, almost unbearable pain spread throughout his body, coursing through his veins, making him groan in frustration.

He spat out a mouthful of blood, his eyes becoming slightly bloodshot and his vision turning blurry. Due to excessive blood loss, even moving an inch was a hard task for him, and in addition to that, he didn't notice due to a surge of adrenaline that his initial collision with the wall had caused his spine to crack, damaging even more of his body's internal state.

"Ahahaha, you're truly ignorant, even now! I guess some things cannot change no matter what."

Wang Xiaomei laughed softly as she began to walk towards Tian Yongheng. Standing before him, she leaned down and grabbed a fistful of his hair, forcefully pulling his head upwards, his eyes landing on her beautiful face.

"Listen here, you arrogant little mutt. The Tian Family is going to fall. Your parents are going to die. And if I'm feeling generous, I'll just keep your lovely little sister whom you adore so much around to slowly torture her to death, each second will be a living hell for her, but I'll let her live, until I'm either bored or feeling merciful enough to grant her freedom from her suffering, by death, that is. And you...you will be buried right here, in this place, like the insignificant creature you are, a mere ant waiting to be trampled upon."

Wang Xiaomei's voice was laced with coldness, no hint of compassion or hesitation on her face as she said those words.

Tian Yongheng's crimson gaze intensified on her face, his lips twitching and his right arm trembling slightly, as if he wanted to grab her neck and snap it right this instant, not caring about being labeled a murderer.

It's cruel...but I must do this if I wish to survive. Don't blame me in the afterlife, Tian Yongheng.

Seeing his reaction, Wang Xiaomei was satisfied and leaned back with her thoughts hidden, walking to Ye Fan's side and standing beside him, nodding at him.

Ye Fan nodded back at her, clenching his fist, a strange whirlwind of invisible energy gathering around it as he prepared to deal the last blow and finish Tian Yongheng off.
