Chapter 13 - When Immortals Fight, Mortals Suffer

3 Months Later.

Tian Yongheng sat in a restaurant located in the middle of the town as he ordered some food and glanced around.

He had already reached the 5th Level of Acupoint Opening Stage and was comparable to a Twelfth Acupoint Opening Stage Grandmaster, probably due to his Cultivation Technique and various talents.

There were many people in the restaurant, including both Martial Artists and Mortals.

Ordinary Martial Artists usually practiced Martial Arts and thus were not capable of much achievements, despite being in the Acupoint Opening Stage in terms of Immortal Cultivation, their strength was much inferior to that of people who cultivated Cultivation Techniques.

That was the difference between walking the Path of a Martial Artist and an Immortal Cultivator.

Martial Artists' limit was the Twelfth Level of Acupoint Opening Stage, thus they considered Immortal Cultivators as legendary existences mentioned only in legends and myths. After all, Cultivators normally didn't appear in Mortal Towns for hundreds of years. Even a Qi Condensation Realm Cultivator could live up to 400 years.

At this moment, he heard an interesting piece of news.

"Did you heard the recent rumors? It's said that multiple Immortals were seen passing by our town."

"Yeah, I've heard of the rumors too! Those Immortals were definitely heading towards a certain destination!"

"That must be the case. I just hope that it won't implicate our Willow Leaves Town."

"Indeed. As the ancient saying goes, 'When Immortals fight, Mortals suffer."

As soon as these words were spoken, the entire restaurant turned solemn.

Of course the "Immortals" they were talking about were not actual Immortals, they were just Cultivators who had yet to attain Immortality.

But in the eyes of Mortals and Martial Artists, Cultivators were all God-like figures who could live for thousands of years, split open mountains and dry up rivers.

Tian Yongheng also knew that Mortals often suffered because of the Conflicts of the Cultivation World.

Who knows how many millions of towns like this one had been flattened by Cultivators?

Tian Yongheng didn't say a word from the beginning to the end. After finishing his food, he returned to the Pavillion and continued Cultivating.

He would often go out for walks and to observe because cultivating right now was pretty boring to him, although his face remained as indifferent as ever. Always catching attention wherever he went.

After staying in the Willow Leaves Town for almost 6 Months, he broke through to the Ninth Level of the Acupoint Opening Stage.

He had just achieved his breakthrough and was in a pretty good mood even when his face showed no changes in expression.

He went out of his room to the main hall of the Pavillion, and just as he was about to go out, the Pavillion Owner stopped him from behind as he said with a somewhat troubled expression, "Young Master, you shouldn't go out right now for a few days. There are many Martial Artists and even some Immortals in the town. I'm afraid it has something to do with the incident that happened a few months ago where several Immortals flew by our town."

The owner of the Pavillion where Tian Yongheng was staying at currently was around 70 years old. He always called Tian Yongheng "Young Master" because of his peerless face and the fact that he could take out so many gold coins at once. Nevertheless, he was still a kind-hearted old man who always helped people.

Tian Yongheng understood the Old Man's worries as he knew the true nature of Cultivators growing up in a family full of powerful experts. But what puzzled him more was the fact that why did the old man stop him, since Mortals believes that "Immortals" are righteous and benevolent beings?

Shouldn't he be excited now that "Immortals" had appeared?

"Mr. Wan, aren't Immortals virtuous figures who helps the Mortals? Why are you saying this?"

He asked with the same indifferent expression and calm tone of voice.

The Old Man was called "Mr. Wan" by everybody here.

Mr. Wan looked slightly conflicted before he sighed.

"Young Master, to be honest, when I was a youngster in my twenties, I was a Martial Artist who wished to become a Hero who everyone looked up to. I traveled around the world and went to multiple Dynasties and Empires.

But once when I was staying in a village around a few hundred miles away from the Willow Leaves Town, I saw Immortals for the very first time in my life. They were dazzling and elegant beings, completely out of the world.

But they did not come on good terms. Multiple Immortals fought in the air as all kinds of powerful arts were being constantly used. The entire Village was stomped upon and nearly 10,000 villagers died by the aftermath of the battle. I barely managed to escape because I was a First-Rate Martial Artist.

It was only at that time that I understood the terror of Immortals. at that moment, they did not look elegant, instead, they were like Bloodthirsty War Gods with cold gazes about to destroy everything.

Even if the matters today are not as serious as that time, it's better for the Young Master to keep his distance from the Immortals."

Mr. Wan reminded at the end.

Tian Yongheng still had the same expression on his face, but he was pretty surprised inside.

He had long known that Wan Min was a person in the Seventh Level of Acupoint Opening Stage, but he did not expect that he had gone through such a series of events.

Yes, his true name was Wan Min. And the reason why Tian Yongheng knew these things was because of a function of the system.
