It had been four days since we got married. Everyone, including his parents, exclaimed happily when they heard that we were spending our honeymoon in a hotel to avoid interruptions from people.
A part of me was suddenly begging for his attention. I knew he was angry at me, and I wished he could come around, even if he would end up howling harsh words at me.
I make a silent prayer and resorts to checking up on him in his hotel room. At the door, she feels a little uneasy at the thought of meeting him with another lady. Her wimpy hand goes for the doorbell, and she waits for a response.
Footsteps approach, and the door creaks up, revealing a beautiful lady clad in a very short bodycon gown.
She flashes her a fake smile "Is Mr. William's inside?
The lady hesitates, and her gaze slowly goes up and down my body as if ascertaining my worth.
"He's sleeping. And you're?..."
"I'm his wife," I said, feeling satisfied by the pure look of surprise on his face.
I watched her withdraw her body slowly from the door, cussing as she jammed the door to my face.
For some odd reason, I felt extremely happy. "My husband will pay me a visit soon," I said teasily, rubbing my hands on my invisible baby bump.
I waited for him to come as envisioned, with fire and brimestones dropping from his eyes, but I got none of that.
He was bent on punishing me.
The protracted ringback tone that begged to end frustrates me as I repeatedly dial his number.
Just when I was about to retire to fate, the doorbell chimed loudly.
I knew it was not him. He had a spare key to my hotel room and would always let himself in.
Startled, I watched him brush past me into the room.
"Why have you chosen to bug the hell out of my life?"
"I... was worried about you," I stuttered
"And why exactly are you worried about me? You and I know that this thing is not real," he waves his ringed finger at me, calling my attention to the beautiful wedding ring seated on his middle finger.
"Not while I'm pregnant with your child."
