Both of their attacks were launched at the same time, targeted at one another.
As if they had decided to finish it in this one final move.
Just as both of their attacks were about to connect, the Ice bird shaped projectile launched by Fu Yue changed its direction midway, completely dodging the giant ball of ice launched by Fu Xuan.
Making its way towards Fu Xuan, faster than before.
Fu Xuan made a shocked expression, seeing something completely outside of his expectation happen.
He quickly regretted his decision to not use his tenseigan till now.
*Booomm!!!*
A long icy explosion happened enveloping the nearby plants in a layer of ice, making a large pillar of ice appeared on the place Fu Xuan stood.
One might think that he should be defeated by that right?
"She got him right? I mean how could one dodge that giant ice bird which can track you down and cause a big explosion while being hit?" Said the spirit master who was forced to be the referee.
"Yes, he should be. After all whatever monster he may be, Lady Fu is even bigger monster. Fighting till this stage is already impressive." Someone said, which followed nods and agreement of many others from the shadow squad.
No one thought that he can overcome that.
Afterall no matter how strong he is. He can't just fend of attacks like this which even a spirit emperor could not defend against given if they were in the same position he was in.
But Fu Yue knew he was not an easy opponent and that is what happened.
As the smoke and debris cleared up, figure of Fu Xuan can be seen with his Crimson tenseigan pulsating with silvery-purple glowing soul power.
His short figure which appeared to have only received some scratches could be seen getting healed with an incredibly fast pace.
He has now started to use Tenseigan, which was the reason why he was able to dodge such an impossible seaming attack.
Honestly speaking, if only he had remained at his place, he might not have got even a little scratch, but getting captured without a clear way to escape would have been his loss.
Just like his Kaguya's mind's eye, his tenseigan is also unique.
At its base form not only does it provide him with the ability to see everything in 3D format proportional to amount of spiritual energy and soul power he provides but also gives him the ability to tell the working and functioning of every energy-based attack of skill.

Frankly speaking he is able to copy techniques and movements like sharingan eyes, or even better as he is able to see even chakra inside once's body.
Just as Fu Xuan dodge the attack, Fu Yue emerged from behind like she was expecting him to dodge that.
When she appeared, she kept her distance and used the first spirit skill of her plant martial spirit.

While partially summoning her martial spirit, she cast her skill.
Following which multiple vines of golden-red color burning with crimson fire covering its surface erupted from the ground surrounding Fu Xuan trying to catch it.
Even with the presence of tenseigan he wasn't able to dodge it, as there was not any space to dodge to.
It's a situation similar to one falling off a cliff, you fall of a cliff, you are going down. Now what? What can one do? Can you run back? Can you stay floating in the air? No, you will go down obviously!
While facing entanglement from all directions he knew he could not dodge so what can he do?
He put his hand in his empty back pocket while taking out some Funjutsu tags from his small world.
With the use of his plant type martial spirit's innate ability of Amethyst vines to transform it to a barrier of kind to protect himself while spreading the seals outside.
Just as Fu Yue's Spirit skills touched the seals a blinding light enveloped the surrounding for a few seconds making one unable to see anything in the meantime.
Even with that kind of attack the situation didn't change much, Fu Xuan was still in the cage of golden-red vines just about to get captured.
But then, Fu Yue's Spirit skill crumbled away, like plant losing all its water.
"What? How is this?"
Fu Yue's surprised voice was heard which seemed to contain, a hint of doubt and worry.
At that moment she wasn't able to see anything so she couldn't tell that what and how did her soul power just feel like leaving her body.
When she was surprised Fu Xuan appeared right in front of her like a ghost, with a golden dagger pointing at her throat.

My second disciple was always a mystery. She was much stronger than anyone of her level, even people above a major rank.
She had an unparallel talent in artifact making and Alchemy.
Talent which was enough to make her the greatest alchemist of spirit hall in just a few years after she started learning it.

Sometimes I just get the feeling that she can even tell lies and truth apart.

Fu Xuan my third disciple, he is a monster similar to her, no, he is a much bigger monster.

The paper tags he is carrying, are they the runes made by his first spirit skill?
Just when Fu Yue's spirit ability connected to these tags a bright light erupted.

But when I thought that he still won't be able to escape, Fu Yue's spirit skill dissolved like the connection of soul power is cut off.
Everyone else was affected by the light so they couldn't see, but I saw.
6 weird shaped golden knifes were planted around Fu Yue, surrounding her while being stabbed on the ground, while paper tags with different symbolic marking from before being carved on it.
Symbols rosed from it marking the ground in a way, which momentarily cut Fu Yue's connection with her soul power.
'This kid…'
I was left speechless by this kind of use of the spirit skill which I thought was useless.
"I win" Fu Xuan's voice rang out, as he held a golden dagger similar to one on the ground near Fu Yue's neck.
He sounds genuinely happy; is it joy of winning against the older sibling? Heh can't say I don't understand it.

"I win."
That sentence was like the wake-up call for me to come out of my daze.
"What the?! H-how did you do that!" I said by reflex feeling a edge of a dagger pointed at my neck.
Soon my vision returned, and I can see some seals bound to knifes thrown around, surrounding me.
'Did these things make me lose my soul power mid fight.'
Some might consider this to be cheating or use of unfair means, but I know it is general application of Xuan'er skills.
But the question still remains…
'How in the world kind of seals were they! I don't know if Naruto had something like these as well.'
"I won right?"
He said still keeping the knife at it's place.
"Geez, just how little trust do you have on me. Do you think I will turn the chessboard if I am on loosing end."
But he remained unmoved, even looking at me like I am some liar.
'Tch! So, you won't fall for it.'
"Tsk, tsk, alright you win! Don't look at me like that."
I can see him nodding at affirmation, while pulling out that dagger.
"By the way I am not a pervert." Fu Xuan said suddenly.
"??"
"What do you mean by that expression? Didn't you say you wanted to fight because of it?" He said narrowing his eyes, as if he found something.
"Y-yes that right! Now I believe you aren't one so don't worry about it!" I said trying to put out the kindest of smile I can.
