[MUISC RECOMMENDATION: SWEET BUT PSYCHO~ AVA MAX]
Gracefully, Princess Kitanna made her way to join her family for breakfast. The long table was laden with a variety of delicious dishes, from freshly baked bread and tender sauced lamb chops to bacon, soup, spinach, berries, fresh tea, wine, and side dishes.
Kitanna chose to sit on one side of the table, while her brother Khelan sat on the other with his new wife, Larel, beside him.
Queen Almaria, as the elder, occupied the head of the table. With grace, Almaria took a slice of bread, added some sauce, and savored it slowly.
The room was filled with the sounds of cutlery clinking against plates and the noise of munching and gulping as the royal family enjoyed their breakfast in silence.
Kitanna, being no regular princess and one who does not conform to royal etiquette, filled her plate with generous portions of meat, bacon, vegetables, side dishes, rice, and mashed corn. To an outsider, it might appear as if she was participating in a charity event, to eradicate hunger from her life.
Larel on the other side of the table being a typical elite daughter took the bread piece by piece measuring her spoon before dipping and eating elegantly.
"Kitanna, you should learn from our new family member. See how she eats with such grace," Queen Almaria commented, serving herself more sauce and adding extra bacon to her plate.
"Oh, Queen Dowager, I believe I inherited my eating habits from you," Kitanna replied with a smile, continuing to munch on her food.
"Please, let's maintain decorum; it's too early for this," Khelan chipped in.
"Yes, my king," Kitanna said, bowing slightly while suppressing a laugh. Breakfast continued in silence, but it didn't last long before Kitanna started snickering.
"What is this madness, Kitanna?" Almaria asked, growing increasingly irritated as she glared at her daughter who seemed like she was losing some screws.
"Oh, pardon me, Queen Dowager. I tried to contain it, but I couldn't. It seems Queen Larel will be bearing an heir before we know it! Classic!" Kitanna replied, placing her hand over her chest as if deeply affected, then grabbing a glass of water to keep herself from choking with laughter.
Almaria glared at the witch called Kitanna. She shouldn't have even spoken to her to start with. Her eyes trailed to look at Larel. The queen let out a smile.
"Kit.....what??..." Khelan questioned looking very uncomfortable.
"My... my.... Khelan, did our king and his wife create an heir while drunk? What a fantastic tale this will make for scholars! If it were a movie, it would have been classic," Kitanna continued to giggle girlishly.
Almaria banged her hand on the table to regain everyone's attention and then smiled again at the embarrassed Larel, who had turned as red as a tomato. She turned and passed Kitanna a warning look, but the girl paid no mind to the shots the queen fired with her eyes. She continued to mock Kehlan subtly with her smile.
"Larel, please make yourself comfortable and let the servants know if you need anything. This is your home now." The queen said while cleaning her hands with the table clothes. She passed Kitanna one last look before leaving the table.
"One night won't be enough, you know? I have the finest wine that can..." Kitanna began, but someone spoke immediately.
"It was a mistake, Princess Kitanna," Larel felt the heat rise up to her cheek. She wanted to run back inside her room and hide.
"Yes, Kat, we were both drunk, and it won't happen again, so please!" Khelan came to her rescue.
"Well that makes Khelan a mistake, because I heard the Queen Dowager did not love my father in her days, first mistake Khelan, second mistake me, which I strongly doubt, as I think properly, and I'm pretty sure if my father was alive there will be a third one." Kitanna said, popping berries into her small mouth.
"Kitanna, you're not helping" Khelan said eyeing his sister.
"My king, I'm being stoned for telling the truth, but as long as my lips move, I won't stop. The sexual tension between you two? Wow! It's making the air dip! Have a wonderful day, my King and Queen." Kitanna bowed playfully and exited the room, leaving the royal couple in an uncomfortable silence.
Kehlan and Larel had the rest of their breakfast in absolute silence, each avoiding the other person's gaze.
Inside the dark dungeon, the assassin tried to move so badly but felt pinned and paralyzed just then the gates of the dungeon creaked and the assassin pretended to be asleep. The shadow that walked in, moved closer and stood in front of the assassin who gently looked up.
"You!!!" The assassin glared at the person with hate.
"I believe it is pronounced 'thank you my princess for saving my life' but I'm ok with the short form if that's what you're into. You see I don't judge" Kitanna grinned with mischief hidden behind the angelic smile.
"I will make sure you regret this" The assassin struggled to moved.
"You're a hostage, I'm your captor, you are paralyzed and don't know if you're making it out here alive and that is what gets me. Who is kidding who?. You're in chains and I am free." Kitanna mocked.
The assassin didn't say a word but just glared at the princess with anger.
"How do you think you'll get back at me when you are not sure of making it out here alive?...hmm.. Calissa darling?" Kitanna faked a frown and a sad face, then she grinned.
Kitanna doubted Calissa from the first day she saw her. She made her research and found out that the house used to belong to an old widow who suddenly went missing and from the records, the widow had no other family neither did she have a child.
"You....you are?!!!....." Calissa tried to speak up but the princess cut her off.
"Well I think maybe your brain still works a little, that's news and yes! I am" Kitanna cut short her words. Calissa clenched her fist in frustration.
Kitanna walked closer to her captive and held her face up.
"What did you do to the old widow of that house?"
"She wasn't going to live past that age anyway..I just helped her" Calissa gritted her teeth, pulling her face away forcefully.
"I guess I will be helping you today then" Kitanna grinned.
"Tch...tch...tskk...don't do that...I don't like it!" She tutted as Calissa struggled to move away from her in fear.
"Get away from me!! Leave me be!!!" Calissa yelled, fear washing blood from her face.
"That's no way to address your princess" Kitanna smiled.
Kitanna moved closer and whispered into her ear inaudibly, just immediately Calissa's eyes bulged in fear.
"Please just kill me... please... please...I beg you" Calissa begged and sobbed regretting the day she met the king or ever accepting the job to infiltrate the palace.
"Look at that!. Darling I am not a murderer ok? Anyways I'm glad I met you because last night? My brother was having the time of his life, I saved you from heartbreak so you see? I saved you, twice! I'm just taking what I need as reward of my bravado."
"You think Queen Dowager will be having this conversation with you at that crib that day? No! She will kkk.....take your head with her" Kitanna replied illustrating the beheading with her hand on her neck.
"You are mad!!! You're the devil!! You are crazy!!" Calissa cried, trying so hard to move away like a mouse in a cheese trap she struggled to run away from the pretty maniac.
"Now look closely and listen attentively Calissa for this voice and this face will be your last and try to say nice words too, it'll be the last time your hear your own voice honey."
Kitanna walked closer, the smile disappeared and her face turned serious.
The sharp scream echoed in the dungeon but never left the dungeon as it was built underground and away from the main castle.
Kitanna cleaned her blood stained hands and walked out of the dungeon.
