Chapter- 6
(Old comrade)
I dressed him up in the newest styles for a few days, covering up his obvious imperfections. I passed my entrance exam with flying colours, thanks to his lessons. We even got close enough at the same time for him to give up attempting to appear dead, though he still acts eerie sometimes, gnashing his teeth in the middle of the night (perhaps from a nightmare or hunger) and ripping his skin.
It's my first weekend here since I moved, so let's see what the new neighbourhood has to offer. I rose before Shin, and, after getting ready to the nines, I softly roused the prince from his sleep. He always wakes up puzzled. We had brunch out after he was ready. I got him some sunglasses so he could use them whenever we went out.
We headed to 'Cafe Beetroot,' which is well-known for its cosplay staff and beetroot motif.
"I still don't understand why you're taking my coffee-drinking picture. Shouldn't you click when I strike a pose? What's up with this unexpected breakfast, too?"
"When you pose, you seem nerdy and dashing naturally. Okay, so I'm going to post these photos on your SM."
"The entire generation of today is corrupt. Taking photos of food rather than actually eating it, as though it will come to life later. Even though the meal is terrible, you still take pictures because they seem cute, which defeats the objective of a mea-"
"Stop it, Shin! It's okay to laugh sometimes and not take things so seriously. "Why take me out when my words annoy you?" He said. He was still hungry, but he got up from his seat.
"Sit down (shin still walks away) (yells) I Said Get Down." I became really ashamed as soon as I discovered that people were watching us. At that very moment, an old buddy and comrade of Shin's dragged his chair over to our table, astonishing us. A peculiar grin appeared on Shin's face upon recognising him, and he took his place. He appeared to be a puppy who had seen a butterfly. I wish he could see me in that light.
"I thought the face on that page looked familiar, but now that I'm looking at you in person, I can't deny that you are' Origin 125.' I departed from the regiment after learning of your passing, my brother. It wasn't until the prior year that my spouse persuaded me to return. Although those bastards haven't changed, seniors are still striving to give you justice."
As he sat down, he said.
"You look very skinny now. Back in the day, you were a hay bag." Hearing it, I laughed as much as he did.
"Who is she? perhaps my sister-in-law ?"
With a fierce flush, we both shouted no at the exact same moment. With a startled expression on his face, he nodded slightly and asked, "Won't you take your old comrade to your home?" putting his palm on each of our hands as they were at rest, leaving us both looking into each other's eyes and wondering what should be done next.
