Within Michael Lord's Mansion:
Beneath the opulent expanse of his mansion, Michael maintained a private sanctum for his research. Unlike the lavish marble seen in many parts of the house, this room was adorned in the familiar warmth of wood.
Six sturdy gas lamps lined the walls, casting a warm glow that banished the shadows from the expansive space.
The centerpiece of the room was an impressively large desk that seamlessly traced the left wall before elegantly curving at the end. Upon its surface, an array of glass containers held liquids of various hues, each labeled with a stern warning: 'Do not touch.'
In addition to the glass vessels, the desk played host to an assortment of containers filled with plants, herbs, stones, and crystals. The scene was reminiscent of Lucian's own chamber, but here, it exuded an even grander allure.
