Chapter 56 - The Fishermen

In the Silver Prism motherbase, everyone gathered around the large screen in the common area, watching the news. The anchor's voice filled the room with concern:

"The fishermen are struggling due to the sudden and severe weather changes. Even the weather forecast experts are baffled by this unusual phenomenon. Reports are coming in of devastating conditions at sea, with strong winds, lightning strikes, and massive waves. Many boats have been damaged or destroyed, and several fishermen are found dead."

As Eliza listened to the news, she frowned. "This is strange. The forecast didn't predict anything like this."

Asher, leaning against the wall, added, "A lot of bad things have been happening lately."

Joseph chimed in, "Could this be related to the mechanical creature we fought before?"

Luther, addressing the group, nodded thoughtfully. "Could be... A creature that can control the weather? How dangerous would that be...."

Eliza took a drag on her cigarette, lost in thought. Suddenly, her phone vibrated on the table. She picked it up, exhaling a cloud of smoke. "Yes?"

Oswald Orcaser's voice came through, tense and urgent. "Eliza the Silver Prism right? this is Oswald Orcaser. I need your help."

Eliza replied, "Sure... Is this about what happened to the fishermen?"

Oswald continued, "I see you've been watching the news. Yes, we need your help to find out what's causing the sudden weather changes. Some of my fishermen reported seeing a mechanical creature. I want you to locate it and eliminate it before it's too late. As the founder of VoyageCenturyCorporation, I assure you the payment will be substantial."

Eliza's expression hardened. "Understood, Mr. Orcaser. We'll take care of it."

Oswald's voice softened with relief. "Thank you, Eliza. Time is of the essence. Good luck."

Eliza hung up and turned to the group, her demeanor serious. "Oswald Orcaser just called. He wants us to locate and eliminate the mechanical creature that's causing these weather disturbances. Apparently, some of his fishermen saw it."

Joseph looked determined. "So it is related. We need to act fast before more lives are lost."

Felix nodded, already moving with purpose. "Alright! Let's gear up!"

Asher pushed off the wall, his expression serious. "This is going to be a tough mission."

Lucil, who had been quietly listening, stepped forward. "Eliza... can i join them too?"

Eliza looked at Lucil, her expression softening. "I'm sorry, Lucil. The condition of EMERALD PHANTOM means it needs more time for full repairs. You need to rest and recover first. Today's mission is only for Joseph, Asher, and Felix."

As Joseph, Asher, and Felix suited up in their piloting suits, the atmosphere filled with tension. Rina and Scarlett stood nearby, their faces etched with concern.

"Be careful out there..." Rina said, her voice trembling slightly. "We don't know what we're dealing with."

Scarlett added, her eyes locked onto Joseph's, "We'll be working hard to gather as much information as we can while you're out there. Stay safe."

Joseph gave them both a reassuring nod, a determined look in his eyes. "Don't worry, I'll be fine. We've faced tough situations before, and we'll get through this too."

As the three of them moved to their own mechs, they meticulously checked their systems, ensuring everything was in perfect working order. Once satisfied, they initiated the launch sequence.

GENESIS, Raijin, and Fujin soared into the sky. From her palace, the Black Queen watched.

As the mechs flew into the area, they arrived at the fishermen's terminal port. Eliza's voice came through Joseph's comm, clear and commanding. "GENESIS, keep an eye out for anything suspicious. If you find anything, report it immediately."

For hours, until the night fell, the three mechs patrolled the area, scanning for any signs of the creature. Asher's voice over the comm filled with frustration. "Boss, we've been here for hours and haven't found a single clue."

Eliza's voice responded quickly, "Scarlett, any updates on your end?"

Scarlett, still to her screen, replied, "No, nothing yet."

Luther interjected thoughtfully, "Maybe this thing only targets fishermen?"

Felix's voice agreed over the comm, "Makes sense."

Eliza considered this, then spoke decisively. "If that's the case, we need a fisherman as bait, but they're all too scared right now."

Suddenly, Lucil, having overheard the conversation, spoke up. "Then I'll be the fisherman!"

A moment of silence followed, the weight of his words sinking in. Eliza finally responded, "Alright, Lucil. Just be careful out there."

Luther added, "Lucil, come with me."

Lucil followed both Luther and Sally to a secluded area. When they arrived, Luther revealed a new prototype mech. "Lucil, this is a prototype. We haven't fully tested it yet, but it should serve you well. You'll use this mech to hide under the sea, beneath the fishermen's boat."

Lucil nodded, his resolve clear. "Alright, Luther. I'll do it."

As Lucil prepared, Eliza's voice came through Joseph, Asher, and Felix's comms. "Lucil will join the operation. He'll act as bait for that creature. When the time comes, cover him."

The plan commenced with a fishing boat positioned in the middle of the sea. Lucil, disguised as a fisherman, began casting his line. For a while, everything seemed normal as he pulled in a school of fish, just like any typical day for a fisherman.

Suddenly, Rina's urgent voice over the comms as she detected an usual signal. "I'm detecting a sudden change in the weather!"

Scarlett's voice followed swiftly, filled with tension. "A storm is brewing! The creature might be on its way!"

As the weather worsened, the sea raged, making it increasingly difficult for Lucil to remain steady in his hidden mech beneath the waves. Suddenly, a mechanical creature resembling a giant bird appeared, its roar with thunderous lightning strike.

"A lone fisherman, what makes you brave yet foolish enough to come here?" the mechanical creature taunted.

By hearing those words from mechanical creature everone are shocked. Lucil, trying to maintain his cover, shouted back, "I'm just a fisherman! I'm here to make a living. Why are you attacking us?"

The mechanical bird responded, "Starting to speak, huh? How brave you are. Fine! I am Codename Zeus. I've known from the beginning why you're here, especially you, GENESIS!"

Joseph, realizing they had been discovered, emerged from their hiding spot. His voice was firm over the comms. "Codename Zeus... what's the reason you're here? Are you related to the Children of Eden?"

Zeus replied, "Two questions are enough for me to answer! The reason I'm here is to challenge you, GENESIS! You are a threat to the ARTIFICIAL!"

Joseph, striving for a peaceful resolution, called out, "Zeus, is this really what you want? I don't want to fight you."

Zeus responded with another thunderous roar, lightning striking violently around them. "Fight?! Enough talk! Now, GENESIS, prepare to meet your demise!" he bellowed, his voice filled with menacing intent.

Joseph tightened his grip on the controls, understanding that words were no longer an option. The battle was inevitable, and he needed to be ready.
