Chapter 50 - Mechanical Rhythm III

RED01 surged forward, its movements swift and calculated as Hermann directed the attack towards Romulus. "Romulus, the leader of Black Hound," Hermann's voice echoed through the cockpit, laced with a mixture of determination and incredulity, "never expected in my life I had to fight against you."

Romulus remained silent, his focus solely on the incoming assault from RED01. With precision and agility, he dodged each strike, his movements fluid and controlled despite the chaos of battle raging around him. Though his expression remained stoic, a flicker of surprise flashed in his eyes at Hermann's unexpected challenge.

As Asher relentlessly attacked Salis, he taunted him with a sinister edge to his voice, relishing in Salis's growing anger. "Yes... anger, more and more," he mocked, his words dripping with contempt.

Meanwhile, Felix, engaged in combat with Silas, felt a sense of foreboding creeping in. He urged Asher to maintain control over his emotions, his voice filled with concern. "Something bad might happen... Brother! Don't let your anger control you," he implored as Fujin surged forward, joining the fray.

Fujin's blow struck Salis, leaving a visible mark on his mech's left arm. Silas responded with a dismissive laugh, echoing his brother's carefree demeanor. "Ohh Brother, hahah, I'm just following your order. You wanted to toy with them," he remarked casually.

Salis chimed in, his tone shifting to a more serious demeanor. "Hahah, you're right, Silas. Well - well, enough time playing. Time to get serious," he declared, signaling a shift in their approach to the battle.

As Salis and Silas fused their mechs together, Asher and Felix watched in awe and apprehension as the two machines morphed into a formidable entity resembling the Japanese demon tales of Ryoumen-Sukuna. The fusion created a monstrous visage, with one half fighting like fire—violently and aggressively—while the other fought like ice—coolheaded and cunning.

Asher's eyes widened in shock at the sight before him. "What... what is that?" he exclaimed, his voice trembling with a mixture of fear and fascination.

Felix's expression mirrored his brother's astonishment as he observed the fusion of the two mechs. "It's... it's like they've become something entirely different," he remarked, his tone filled with a sense of urgency. "We need to stay focused, Brother."

As the fused mech advanced toward them, Asher and Felix braced themselves for the coming onslaught, their determination fueling their resolve to face this new, formidable opponent.

As Salis and Silas launched their first assault, Asher and Felix reacted with urgency, their movements synchronized in a desperate attempt to evade the oncoming onslaught.

"Felix! Quick!" Asher's voice rang out with a sense of urgency as he maneuvered Raijin swiftly to avoid the impending attack.Felix, equally determined, matched his brother's movements, narrowly dodging the swinging blades of Salis and Silas.

"Brother! We must do something!" he exclaimed, his voice tinged with frustration.

Amidst the chaos, Asher remained composed, his focus unwavering as he formulated a plan. "Just hold on, wait for the opportunity, Felix," he instructed, his voice calm yet determined. "Then activate Fujin's ability."Their hearts pounding with adrenaline, Asher and Felix prepared themselves for the battle ahead, their determination driving them forward despite the overwhelming odds they faced.

As the fused mech extended its arms, Asher and Felix found themself struggling to keep up with the lightning-fast movements. Frustration etched into Asher voice as he admitted, "Damnit! It's really fast enough! I cannot see it."

Salis's maniacal laughter echoed through the chaos, his voice filled with pride and arrogance. "Hahahahahahaha! This is the true power of being one of the Black Hound super soldiers!"

Confusion crept into Asher's tone as he questioned, "A super soldier?"

Silas, still laughing, chimed in with an air of superiority. "Of course! We Black Hounds are super soldiers, unmatched by any other."

Salis's laughter turned sinister as he addressed Asher once more. "Now, Hell Brother, come join us. Oh, but I forgot—you're a failure. Like you, it's our job to eliminate failures."

Asher's sudden halt in the midst of battle caught Felix off guard, his concern evident in his voice as he questioned his brother's actions. "Brother! Why did you stop?"

Salis's taunting words only fueled Asher's resolve, his voice filled with determination as he faced the twins. "Surrender? Not a chance. Prepare to face your defeat, just like your mother!"

Before the twins could land their blow, Raijin intercepted their attack, its blade clashing with Salis and Silas. Salis's surprise was palpable as he struggled to comprehend the sudden turn of events. "What? How is this possible?!"

Asher seized the moment, his voice filled with conviction as he urged Felix into action. "A failure? Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Now, Felix!"

As Felix activated Fujin's ability, an illusionary barrier materialized between Raijin and Fujin, creating a momentary distraction for the twins.

As Felix surged forward to strike Salis and Silas, a sudden sense of foreboding gripped the battlefield, causing an eerie silence to fall upon the combatants. A presence, palpable yet unseen, sent shivers down their spines, and a commanding voice rang out, commanding them to halt.

Eliza's recognition of the voice sent a wave of surprise through the ranks. "Black Queen herself? Is she here?"

As everyone saw the Jade Black Mech appeared. Despite the warning, Aycali remained undeterred, his determination clear in his response. "A Black Queen wants to stop us? I don't care. Prepare to meet your demise!"

Before Aycali's mech could reach Black Queen, she activated her Will of Ruler, unleashing a powerful wave that caused intense pain and confusion among the Black Hound pilots. Joseph and the others looked on in shock as the once fierce fighters were brought to their knees.

Salis and Silas, writhing in agony, struggled to hold on. "Ughhhhh, what is this?" Salis groaned, his voice strained with pain.

"I can't hold it much longer, brother," Silas added, his resolve faltering under the overwhelming force of Black Queen's power.

Meanwhile, amid the chaos, William's concern for Stein was evident as he called out, "Stein?! Are you alright?"

Stein's gasping voice broke through the chaos, signaling a retreat. "Ughhh...Hassan, it's time to go... this Black Queen isn't our target right now."

Hassan, grimacing in pain, agreed. "Ughhhh...Damn it! Let's pull back... Romulus, it's time to retreat."

Despite his injuries, Romulus remained defiant, resisting the effects of Black Queen's power. Charging forward, he aimed his mech's blade at Black Queen, only to find himself deceived by a holographic decoy.

As Black Queen materialized behind him, her voice dripped with disdain. "A hound that never learns his lessons, hmm?" With a swift strike, she rendered half of Romulus's mech inoperable, leaving everyone stunned by her immense power.

Hassan, frustrated by Romulus's failure, muttered, "Tsk! That fool never learns... I wonder why the ARTIFICIAL chose him as our leader."

Black Queen's commanding presence silenced the battlefield, her words echoing with authority. "I am the apex here. Know your place. Continuing this battle risks innocent lives. Should you wish to continue, face me first."

Hassan, lifting Romulus, acknowledged the necessity of retreat. "We must depart, damn it!"

As he prepared to leave, Hassan's gaze shifted to Joseph. "GENESIS...heh, you're lucky this time. But when we meet again, death awaits."

Stein's departure prompted William to plead, "Stein! There's still a chance to break free from the Black Hounds!" Stein remained silent, exiting the battlefield without a word.

The sight of Black Queen's flying city, The Land of Dogma, instilled fear in all who beheld it, casting a foreboding shadow over the already tense atmosphere.

Black Queen's command sent shivers down the spines of Joseph and the others. Her words, spoken through Joseph's comm, carried an undeniable weight.

Hermann's voice, signaled the end of their operation. "Malek, it seems our mission is complete. Farewell, Eliza."

The directive from Black Queen reached Hermann's mech as well. "RED01 and RED02, you are summoned to The Land of Dogma."

Eliza, though relieved that the operation was over, couldn't shake off a lingering sense of unease. As she couldn't help but wonder what awaited them at The Land of Dogma.
