A fairly tall guy had his back resting on a red Mustang coupe car. He lit a cigarette and put it in his mouth, when his phone rang. He puffed and picked up the phone. "Yes sir. "
"What's the news on Mike?" The voice on the other side of the phone asked.
"Mike is dead boss." He paused then went on. "He was killed yesterday."
"And what is the money report?"
"Fanel says Mike only worked 2000 dollars for them. That hasn't even touched the quarter of 100 million he is demanding."
His boss took some time to digest the information. "Adam?"
"Sir."
"There is an auction being held tomorrow, at the Marquis. A star of David will be sold. It's a diamond. You are going to get that for me. "
"Yes sir. How much will I be taking with me?"
"Fifty million. Then we'll have it sold for about seventy million. That will clear more than half of the price."
Adam entered and ignited his car. "I'll get it sir." He replied and his boss hung up.

SATURDAY NIGHT: NIGHT OF THE AUCTION
James stared admiringly at Hazel. Her glittering, red, off shoulder gown was so tempting. He desired to take it off.
Hazel turned in front of her mirror and giggled. She faced James and smiled. "How do I look?"
"Beautiful, as always. " He replied.
She returned to the mirror and he continued to stare. "Remind me again, why I can't come with you guys."
She faced James again, while packing her hair. "I told the guys we would have a family night out tonight. Because I've been so busy with work and all. So it's a good time to spend with my cousins."
"Well, I'm your fiance. I'm also family."
She put on her stiletto heels. "James, we can always go out anytime. But tonight is for me and my cousins." She pecked him and smiled.
"Alright. If you say so. "
He followed her out of the house, where the SUV was already parked, with Andrew and Fred waiting for her to hop in.
"See you later James."
She got into the passenger seat and they drove off. Fred was the driver for the night. Andrew sat at the back seat in his white tuxedo.
"What took so long?" Andrew asked. "Lover boy didn't want you leaving the house?"
"Shut up Andrew."
He laughed. "Anyways, the tiny speakers at the trunk, what are they for?"
"When I push a button on my phone, they will go off. Gun sounds to throw everyone into confusion and to get this over with quickly. "
"Hmm."
"And I didn't get an extra ticket for you guys. So Fred already knows he'll remain in the car while you, Andrew, are with me. My plus one. "
"Sure."
They mentally prepped themselves for the mission ahead. Luckily, when they got to the gate of the Marquis, it was a different guard they met. He took Hazel's ticket and examined it. "Welcome miss Coleman. "
Fred drove in and found a suitable spot to park. The setting up of the speakers was up to Fred. His job was to place them at different locations in the compound, while Andrew and Hazel walked inside.
She conducted the bud check while they were inside. "Can you hear me Fred?"
"Yeah. Already started my work."
"Good. How about you Andrew?"
"Yup." He grabbed a glass of wine from a waiter's tray and sipped from it. "Loud and clear."
"Have you spotted the diamond?"
"No. Most of the items are covered. I'm sure the diamond is one of them. " He bumped into a man and almost spilled his drink. "I'm so sorry. " He said quickly and walked away.
Adam adjusted his suit. That man almost spilled his drink on him. And was he talking about a diamond?
"You know what to do Andrew. Just stay close when you find the diamond. The heist fully starts when the auction for the star begins."
"Sure. "
The auction soon began. A piece of painting was sold for 500,000 dollars, a necklace was sold for two million dollars. A lot of items were sold at ridiculously high prices also. Like a skull which was sold for twenty million. It was apparently the skull of an African king, who did want his skull to be sold(it was in his will).
The time for the Star of David came, and they took off the napkin and the glass covering.
"Right here we have the Star of David, a very beautiful diamond which would start off at the price of 20,000 dollars."
"Alright Andrew, get ready."
He gulped down the remaining content of his glass and slowly dipped his hand into his inner pocket. Hazel was there to act like she was going to buy and she raised her hand for 20,000 dollars.
"100,000 dollars." Someone called from the back.
"Okay. A hundred thousand." The auctioneer called. "Can we get 150?"
Hazel raised her hand for 150, and the auctioneer announced it.
"Diamond up for 150. Anybody going higher?"
"Two hundred." A man called.
"Shit. " Hazel said under her breath. "Fred tell me those speakers are in place."
"Yes mom."
"One million." A lady called.
"Andrew?"
He slipped out his thermal goggles. "Go for it."
"Fifty million." Adam called and the whole hall went silent. Even Hazel forgot what she wanted to do. Who jumps up the price that way?
"Fifty million. Anyone challenging?" The auctioneer asked. No one answered. "Going in five, four—"
"Hazel!" Andrew called.
"Oh shit." She pressed a button on her phone and gunshots were heard. Everyone began to scream and take cover. Some ran out of the hall.
Andrew put on his goggles. "Lights, Hazel."
She touched another button and the devices on the electronic panel activated, switching off all lights. The screens at the surveillance room went static also. Guards were making their way to the sound of the gunshots.
Andrew had already made his way to the podium. He slipped on rubber gloves and took the diamond in the midst of the darkness and confusion.
"Andrew, make your way to the second exit. Lots of guard activity at the first. We'll be there waiting in the car."
He followed her instruction and made for the other hallway. Once he got there, he dropped his pace and stopped to catch his breath. "Alright, Hazel. You can turn on the lights now."
The lights came on and he took off his goggles. As he continued moving, Adam came out from a room and stood in front of him. He had a knife in his hand and he glared at Andrew.
Andrew took two steps back. "Woah." He studied the man and laughed. "Oh. You were the guy I bumped into before. I'm really sorry. I didn't think you were so angry to want to kill me for it. "
Adam wasn't smiling. "The diamond. Now. "
Andrew tapped his chin, like he was trying to think. "Sorry, what diamond? "
"Don't bullshit me. The Star of David. Give it to me. Now. "
"I don't know what you are talking about."
Adam attacked and swung the knife. Andrew moved to avoid it. Adam swung again, Andrew dodged. Then he charged in and pushed Adam to the wall, punching him twice. Adam pushed him back, causing Andrew to fall. He was going to drive his blade into his stomach, but Andrew rolled away avoiding it.
"Hazel! Lights off again!"
The lights went off and Andrew swiftly put on his goggles. Adam couldn't see and it was the perfect opportunity for him to be cleared off the ground, and to take a heavy hit to his nose.
Andrew quickly ran away and finally made it to the exit, where he entered the car. "Drive!"
Fred drove off. The gates were already opened seeing as there was a huge commotion.
"What happened Andrew?" Hazel asked in shock.
"A guy attacked me. He somehow knew that I had the diamond."
"Well do you still have it?"
He stared at her like she was crazy. The only thing on her mind was the diamond. Her partner almost lost his life and she didn't care. He slowly shook his head and tossed her the diamond. "I'm fine by the way. Thanks for asking."
Fred arched his brow. "I don't think anyone asked."
"Fuck you!"

Adam stood in front of a man. His boss. He had just explained everything to him.
"So someone else has the diamond now? Fuck." He held his face in desperation. "Who is he?"
Adam took out his phone. "This was the video from the drones." The drones caught the event of the night and Adam pointed out Andrew. "He was the one. And he had a partner. Hazel was the name. She apparently had access to the lights of the Marquis. I'm sure the attack was staged by them. There were no real guns. Guards found speakers."
"Run him through the Network." The boss said.
" Already did that. Andrew Barnes. He was a Death Angel. Till the company crumbled. "
"What does he need the diamond for?"
"The masked man also wanted it. So the contract was taken up by a group called the Trinity. I'm sure he is delivering it to the masked man."
The boss sighed. "Get me their contract number. A former Death Angel would actually be able to pull off this job. "
