Kaito chapter 49

Kaito felt overwhelming happiness flood through his body. "Orochimaru has finally defected," he thought to himself, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Now I can finally get my revenge."

The thought of making danzo pay for crossing him brought a wicked smirk to Kaito's lips. "oh Danzo...oh, Danzo," he chuckled to himself. "I'll make you regret ever messing with mom." With determined thoughts swirling through his mind, Kaito drifted off to sleep with a satisfying grin on his face that promised retribution to those who had wronged

The sun had just risen over the hidden leaf village, casting a golden glow on the bustling streets below. The people moved about their daily tasks with purpose and determination, the sounds of their footsteps and chatter filling the air. Among them was a young boy with vibrant red hair, his gaze focused as he made his way towards a specific destination.

This boy was Kaito Uzumaki, a genin of konoha. He was on a mission this morning - to pay his respects to his father, whose name was etched into the Konoha memorial, and to find a certain white-haired jonin. It had been far too long since Kaito had seen Kakashi, ever since he became a genin himself.

As he walked through the village, Kaito's eyes scanned the familiar streets and buildings, taking in the sights and smells of his home. But his mind was focused on finding Kakashi, knowing that he could often be found at the memorial paying tribute to fallen comrades.

It had been exactly one week since Orochimaru's betrayal of Konoha, and tensions were still high among the villagers.

Kaito arrived at the memorial stone, the weight of his emotions heavy on his heart. Kakashi stood in front of the stone, head bowed as he gazed at the grave marker. Kaito slowly approached, his footsteps crunching against the gravel path. He carefully placed the single flower he had brought down onto the smooth surface of the stone. The two men stood in silence, each lost in their own thoughts and memories. For Kaito, his mind was consumed with thoughts of his father, Minato, and all that he had lost. He couldn't help but wonder what could have been if his father was still alive. But he pushed those thoughts aside for now, focusing on the task at hand.

Kaito had waited weeks for this moment, planning and strategizing to ensure everything went according to plan. He wanted to wait for Kakashi to return from his mission to hunt down Orochimaru before putting their plan into action. It was a risky move, but one that Kaito felt necessary.

As they stood there at the memorial stone, Kaito's remembered that Danzo had attempted to assassinate Hiruzen. He knew it happened around this time, making it the perfect opportunity to spread rumors and set their plan in motion.

After a while Kaito shifted his weight, breaking the tense silence between himself and Kakashi. The sound of rustling leaves filled the air as he spoke.

Kaito began tentatively, "it's been ah... it's been a while, Kakashi."

Kakashi finally tore his gaze away from the ground to look at Kaito. He nodded slowly, acknowledging the truth of his words. "It has... how's it going for you as a genin?" he asked, peering at Kaito with one eye.

Kaito couldn't help but smile as he thought about his answer. "It's great," he replied enthusiastically, "having my best friends as teammates and Shikaku-sensei is good too."

Kakashi nodded again, then asked with genuine curiosity, "So what brings you here?"

Kaito raised an eyebrow in response. "You know," he answered with a slight shrug, "just visiting my dad."

Kakashi hummed in acknowledgement before returning to his previous stance of staring at the memorial stone.

Kaito couldn't resist breaking the awkward tension that had settled between them once more. "You're quite hard to find, ya know," he commented casually.

Kakashi raised an eyebrow in question. "You've been looking for me?" he asked incredulously.

"Hmmm..." Kaito trailed off, considering his words carefully before continuing. "I was hoping for a spar, ya know," he suggested with a sly smirk on his face. "So how about it?"

For a brief moment, Kakashi seemed almost tempted by the offer. But then he shook his head regretfully. "I can't," he stated firmly, "I have a mission tomorrow."

Kaito looked slightly disappointed but understandingly nodded in acceptance. He then remembered something and asked curiously, "Is it related to Orochimaru?"

Kakashi's eyes hardened at the mention of the notorious Sannin. "No, it's not," he clarified, "it's an escort mission."

Kaito hummed in acknowledgement before a mischievous glint appeared in his eyes. "Then after your mission, how about that spar?" he proposed, knowing that Kakashi would be more relaxed after completing his mission.

Kakashi nodded in agreement, and Kaito could tell that this was the same mission where Danzo had attempted to assassinate Hiruzen.

With a final nod of understanding, Kaito began to walk away. But then he turned back to face Kakashi once more. "You should move on, ya know," he advised earnestly. "They wouldn't want you to be like this... they would want you to move on and be happy."

Without waiting for a response, Kaito used shunshin to disappear from sight, leaving Kakashi alone with his thoughts once again.

Two days after their initial meeting, Kakashi appeared before Kaito once again. The air was thick with anticipation as the two prepared to spar. Kaito's muscles tensed and his heart raced.

For an hour, they exchanged blows, kakashi pushing kaito to his limits. Kaito felt a surge of pride as he held his own against the Kakashi.

Once the spar was over, Kakashi bid Kaito farewell and left, acknowledging that the young ninja was indeed growing stronger.

With Kakashi gone, Kaito set his plan into motion. He created 20 shadow clones and sent them out across the village, each one disguised using the transformation jutsu.

Feeling determined and focused, Kaito thought to himself, "It's time for payback on Danzo."

As his clones spread out throughout the village, Kaito returned home to spend time with his mother and brother while his clones did the work. The familiar warmth of family surrounded him, providing him with a sense of comfort in the midst of his revenge plot.

One clone swiftly landed in a secluded alleyway, his feet barely making a sound as they touched down. With a deep breath, he activated his kagura's minds eye, scanning the area for any signs of discovery. Satisfied that he was in the clear, the disguised clone confidently stepped out and blended into the bustling crowd.

Making his way through the busy market, the clone picked up some groceries and struck up a conversation with the shopkeeper. "Hey, have you heard the rumors?" he asked casually, trying to appear nonchalant.

The shopkeeper looked at him with confusion. "What rumors?"

Leaning in conspiratorially, the clone glanced around before whispering, "You know, the ones about Danzo-sama and Orochimaru."

The shopkeeper's interest was piqued and he leaned in closer to listen. The woman buying goods next to them also leaned in curiously.

"You don't know?" The clone feigned shock, building up the suspense. "It's all anyone is talking about in the village right now."

"Come on, tell us already," the shopkeeper urged impatiently, while the woman nodded eagerly.

The clone nodded solemnly, his expression mirroring the gravity of his words. "Alright... alright. The rumor is that Danzo-sama is involved with Orochimaru," he began.

The shopkeeper and lady gasped in shock, their eyes wide with disbelief. The clone continued, his voice low and intense, "But that's not all. Danzo-sama is also the one who supplied Orochimaru with test subjects."

"It can't be," exclaimed the woman next to the clone, her hand covering her mouth in horror.

The clone nodded again, his eyes hardening as he spoke, "It's true. Danzo-sama provided Orochimaru with orphans from the orphanages run by Konoha."

Both the shopkeeper and the lady beside him gasped once more, unable to believe the despicable actions of someone they had trusted. "But surely the Hokage wouldn't allow such atrocities," said the lady, her voice trembling with anger and betrayal.

The clone shook his head sadly. "That's what I thought too. But there are rumors that the Hokage knew about it all along and only took action because it became public knowledge."

They gasped again, their faith in their leader shaken to its core. The clone added, "There's also talk of Danzo-sama attempting to assassinate the Third Hokage yesterday... but the Hokage apparently let him go without any repercussions."

The lady clutched her heart in shock. "What? Surely the Hokage would punish him for such a heinous act?"

The clone's voice was filled with suspicion as he spoke, "That's what I thought too, but when you really think about it, the Hokage allowed Orochimaru to leave without punishment. This isn't farfetched at all." The shopkeeper nodded in agreement, "It does seem like favoritism is at play here." A lady nearby also nodded in understanding.

As the shadow clone paid for their groceries and walked away, they began spreading rumors about Danzo's involvement with Orochimaru and how he had supplied the villain with innocent children to experiment on. They also spread whispers of Danzo attempting to assassinate the Hokage and how the leader had turned a blind eye instead of punishing him.

Kaito, another one of the clones, added fuel to the fire by suggesting that the Third Hokage may have known about Orochimaru's sinister experiments but chose to do nothing until it was brought to light. The clone continued to spread these rumors throughout the entire village, causing doubt and unrest among its inhabitants.

The sun was just beginning to break through the clouds as Kaito and his mother, Kushina, made their way to the market. The bustling streets were filled with merchants setting up their stalls and villagers going about their daily business. As they arrived at their usual grocer store, the shopkeeper greeted them with a warm smile.

"Good morning Lady Kushina...Kaito-kun, the usual?" he asked.

"Hai, good morning Misaki-san. We would like the usual please," replied Kushina, looking around at the familiar faces of the people in the market.

"Good morning Misaki-san," Kaito echoed politely.

"I couldn't help but notice everyone whispering to each other. Is something going on?" Kushina asked curiously, sensing a strange tension in the air.

Misaki-san leaned in closer and spoke in a hushed tone, "You haven't heard yet?"

Shaking her head, Kushina leaned in as well and whispered, "No, what is it?"

The shopkeeper's expression turned grave as he revealed, "There's a rumor going around that Danzo-sama has been supplying orphans to Orochimaru for his experiments."

Kushina's eyes widened in shock as Misaki San spoke, her voice trembling with disbelief. "That's not all," Misaki San continued, her tone grave and serious. "He also attempted to assassinate the Third Hokage himself, yet the Third let him go without any consequences."

Kushina shook her head, unable to fathom how the Hokage could allow such a dangerous enemy to escape unpunished. "Surely the Hokage wouldn't do that," she said, her voice filled with doubt.

But Misaki San nodded solemnly. "That's exactly what happened," she confirmed. "The Third was the one who let Orochimaru go."

As Misaki San went on to share the rumors circulating throughout the village about Orochimaru's actions and the Third's involvement, Kaito listened intently with a shocked expression on his face. Internally, he couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction that his plan had worked so perfectly.

At the same time, Kaito was amazed at how quickly news traveled through the village; in just one day, everyone seemed to have heard some version of the rumors. The village was buzzing with whispers and speculation about Orochimaru's actions and the Third Hokage's and danzo's role in it all.

After gathering all the necessary supplies from the shop, Kaito and his mother exited, their steps light and hurried. As they walked, Kaito couldn't help but voice his thoughts to his mother "Mom, do you think the rumors are true?"

Kushina's gaze flickered towards her son before she responded with a hint of uncertainty in her tone "It can't be right."

But Kaito was quick to point out the other possibility "But the village also found out about you being the former jinchuriki through rumors, mom."

Kushina's expression turned grave as she bit her lip, mulling over Kaito's words. It was a delicate topic that she didn't want to fully acknowledge yet knew could very well be the truth.
