Kaito chapter 60
Upon seeing the daimyo, Shikaku and his team greeted him with a deep bow. The daimyo responded with a nod, acknowledging their presence. He then motioned for them to follow him as he made his way towards his ornate palanquin.
As they departed from the grand palace grounds, Team 11 formed a loose circle formation around the daimyo's palanquin. Shikaku took up the rear, making sure that their noble guest was well-protected during their journey. The streets were filled with onlookers who bowed and whispered words of respect towards the esteemed ruler as they left the capital city.
....
As they departed from the grand palace of the daimyo, a sense of leisure permeated their movements. The daimyo himself was accompanied by two members of 'the twelve guardians shinobi' acting as the daimyo's personal body guards, A dozen attendants also joined the party, following closely behind the palanquin that carried the esteemed leader.
The two stood on opposite sides of the palanquin, ever vigilant and ready to protect their daimyo at a moment's notice. The journey itself was uneventful and somewhat boring, as the route had been cleared and blocked off in advance to ensure a smooth passage for the daimyo. Despite this, it still took longer than expected for Team 11 to arrive at their destination in Konoha.
They had set out at 9 AM, but now with the sun high in the sky and casting its warm rays upon them, it was already 1 PM. Four hours had passed, yet they were only halfway through their journey. The landscape around them remained mostly unchanged, with tall trees and lush greenery stretching out as far as the eye could see.
The daimyo abruptly halted the palanquin, causing the attendants to quickly lower it to the ground. "I think we should rest and have lunch," the daimyo suggested, his voice tired from the long journey. The attendants immediately got to work preparing a meal for their master. Seeing that they had stopped for a break, Shikaku gestured to Team 11 to gather around. The two members of 'The twelve shinobi guardians' stood beside the daimyo on guard.
Team 11 sat a bit further away, allowing the daimyo and his entourage some privacy. Kaito was the first to sit down and unseal the bento that his mother, Kushina, had prepared for them. He distributed the bento boxes to his teammates, saying, "Here guys, Mom made this for us.".
"Thank you, Kaito-kun. And please thank Lady Kushina for me as well," Hotaru said gratefully as she received her bento.
Itachi took his box with a smile and added, "Yes, thank Kushina-san for me."
Shikaku nodded in agreement as he also received his bento. "Hai, thank her for me too."
"Hai hai," Kaito replied with a grin as he eagerly opened his box. Inside, he found crispy chicken karaage with fragrant fried rice. With an exclamation of "Itadakimasu!" the team began to dig into their meals.
Kaito couldn't help but hum in delight as he took a bite of his mother's cooking. Her cooking was one of the things he loved most in this world. As he savored each bite, he couldn't help but think, "Mom's cooking is truly on another level. No wonder Dad fell head over heels for her." With each mouthful.
The members of team 11 finished their lunch first and stood guard, their eyes scanning the surrounding area for any potential threats. The daimyo sat at his makeshift table, enjoying his meal as he sipped on a cup of hot tea. With a deep sigh, he lamented about how far away Konoha was from their current location.
Shikaku, who had been standing nearby, lazily chimed in, "If we don't leave now, we may not make it back to Konoha before nightfall." He let out another sigh as he thought of the long journey ahead.
the two members of the 'Guardian Shinobi' helped the daimyo back into his ornate palanquin. As they were about to depart, Kaito suddenly sensed a presence nearby. His body froze and his mind raced as he identify the persons. "No...it can't be," he whispered to himself.
His teammates noticed Kaito's sudden stillness and the shaking of his hands. Hotaru, concerned for her friend, placed a comforting arm on his shoulder and asked worriedly, "What's wrong, Kaito-kun?"
just then, Itachi's urgent call broke through their conversation. "Shikaku-sensei!" He gestured towards the road ahead.
Hotaru and Shikaku immediately turned their heads towards the direction that Itachi was facing, both sensing a change in the atmosphere. As they looked, they saw a figure skipping towards them with an almost childlike bounce in their step. Shikaku's eyes narrowed and he called out to his team, "Get information! Now!"
But it wasn't just the sight of this orange-masked man that made Shikaku tense up - it was the orange mask with horizontal black zebra-like stripes that adorned it with Only one eye hole on the right side that was covering his face. Hotaru and Itachi were also tense seeing the masked man, they had a bad feeling about him.
Meanwhile, Kaito remained frozen in place, still trembling at the sudden appearance. One of members of 'twelve Gradian Shinobi' noticed their actions and spoke up, "What's going on?"
Shikaku didn't take his eyes off the masked man as he replied, "Stay alert. Be on guard." He then turned to face the stranger and demanded, "State your name and intentions."
As the masked man drew closer to them, he threw his right arm into the air and posed a question in a jolly tone, "Hummm, I have a question I would like to ask if you don't mind?"
Shikaku, focused on the task at hand, ignored the man's inquiry and instead asked, "The road is closed today. How did you manage to get onto it?"
The masked man smirked in response, "Oh, is it closed?" He exaggeratedly spread out both arms, capturing the attention of everyone around him.
Itachi suddenly felt a disturbance in his chakra and immediately called out to Shikaku for guidance, but it was too late. The next thing they knew, everyone including shikaku, Kaito, the two members of the twelve shinobi guardians, the daimyo and his attendants were all caught in the genjutsu. everyone except Itachi and Hotaru were caught in a powerful genjutsu. Hotaru, Due to the innate resistance of the Byakugan, Hotaru remained unaffected by the powerful Genjutsu.
Both Hotaru and Itachi felt their bodies tense as they could sense the dangerous aura emanating from the masked man before them.
The stranger seemed amused that they were able to resist his genjutsu With a hint of mockery in his voice. "Oh ho, so there are those who can dodge my genjutsu after all. And not just one, but two.", He continued walking towards Hotaru and Itachi and declared, "I just want the old man behind you." His killing intent was palpable as he shifted his focus between the two of them.
"im a shinobi of konoha " Itachi identified himself as a ninja from Konoha and struggled against the overwhelming pressure of the masked man's killing intent. He activated his sharingan in an attempt to resist. Hotaru followed suit and activated her Byakugan to reduce the effect of the intense killing intent. Both of them tightened their grips on their kunai, preparing for the worst. Itachi couldn't help but wonder who this mysterious man was with such formidable abilities.
Hotaru's knuckles turned white as she tightly held onto her kunai, And just as they were about to face off against the masked man, both Itachi and Hotaru sensed a sudden surge of chakra behind them.
Kaito's was also ensnared in the powerful genjutsu, but he quickly broke free thanks to his anti-genjutsu seal. As he emerged from the illusion, his chakra flared uncontrollably and the ground beneath him cracked and crumbled. In a split second, Kaito was standing in front of the masked man, and in his right hand swirling rasengan.
With a fierce battle cry, "DIe!" Kaito thrust the swirling ball of energy towards the masked man's face, intent on destroying him once and for all.
The sudden attack caught both Hotaru and Itachi off guard, their eyes widening in surprise. But before they could react, the Rasengan made contact with the masked man's mask...and passed right through it. Startled by this unexpected turn of events, both Kaito and his attack phased through the masked man as if he were nothing but an illusion.
and just as Kaito moved past him, the masked man swung his sword with lightning speed, aiming to decapitate the young ninja.
Kaito's attack passed through the masked man as if he were nothing but a mirage. The masked man swung his sword at Kaito, Itachi and Hotaru cried out in unison, "No, Kaito!" "No, Kaito-kun!" But their desperate pleas could not stop the sword swinging towards their friend.
But it was too late. The blade sliced through Kaito's form, causing him to fade away. However, this was all part of Kaito's plan. He had anticipated the masked man's intangibility and used his version of the body flicker technique, leaving behind only an afterimage for the masked man to cut through.
Kaito reappeared behind him and thrust rasengan into the back of his enemy. However, just like before, the attack passed harmlessly through the elusive foe. As Kaito's attack hit the ground below
The force of Kaito's rasengan hitting the ground created a massive crater, sending dirt and debris flying in all directions. The masked man took advantage of this distraction and jumped back.
As the masked man landed, his mocking tone ringing out. "Ho, you've gotten stronger, Uzumaki Kaito." Kaito's eyes narrowed as he unsealed his tanto and created a shadow clone without any handsign. "And I'll make sure you die today!" Kaito's voice was filled with anger as he pointed his tanto at the masked man, the blade crackling with red lightning.
With incredible speed, Kaito body flickered in front of the masked man, slashing his tanto with full force. But just like before, the blade passed through the man as if he were made of smoke. In a split second, the masked man retaliated, slashing back at Kaito with his own weapon. But to his surprise, the slash was blocked by a shadow clone and the real Kaito appeared behind him, swinging his blade horizontally in an attempt to cut the man in two.
"What?!" The masked man was caught off guard by Kaito's unexpected move and quickly leaned to the side. However, Kaito's tanto still managed to cleave through the side of his right arm, slicing off a small part of it. The masked man jumped back, creating some distance between them. As he landed, he spoke with a hint of surprise in his voice. "It seems I have underestimated you again, Uzumaki Kaito."
Kaito's eyes narrowed as he clicked his tongue and prepared to launch another attack at the masked man. But just as he lunged forward, a shadow suddenly stretched out and wrapped around the masked man, holding him in place. Shikaku let out a shout as he held up a ram hand sign and crouched down, ready to assist in the attack. "Now, Itachi!" he yelled. Itachi wasted no time, spitting out a massive fireball jutsu that engulfed the masked man where he was trapped by their sensei's technique.
But as the flames died down, Itachi's triumph quickly turned to shock as he saw that the masked man was still standing, seemingly unscathed by the intense heat. The masked man sneered at them all and spoke, his voice filled with malice. "I see, so all of you wish to die..." He paused abruptly, his attention drawn to a certain direction. "This chakra...Kakashi Hatake," he muttered, before turning back to Kaito. "I'll be sure to kill you next time."
Before anyone could react, the masked man's body started to get pulled into the hole on his mask. Kaito's instincts kicked in and he shouted, "No you don't!" He saw the opportunity and used his full speed and body flicker technique to appear in front of the masked man. His tanto glinted in the light as it sliced through the air towards the masked man's neck, crackling with red lightning chakra. But it was too late - the masked man had completely disappeared into the eyehole of his mask.
Kaito's fists clenched tightly in frustration as he realized, once again, that he had missed his chance. A low, guttural scream of pure anger escaped from between his gritted teeth as the masked man disappeared into the shadows. Kaito pounded his hand repeatedly into the ground, releasing all of his pent-up frustration.
Suddenly, four shadows descended from the trees above, one of them being Kakashi. The masked man was nowhere to be seen now.
Kakashi approached Kaito cautiously, concern. "What happened, Kaito?" he asked gently.
"It was him, Kakashi," Kaito growled in frustration. "That bastard was here. The same guy who captured my-"
Kaito's words were cut off as his eyes widened. He muttered the word "mom" before suddenly body flickering away before anyone could stop him.
