The Banshee, a fairy from Celtic legend that foretells death.
Usually harmless to humans, it simply informs of the impending doom with its terrifying cries. There are also tales that claim a visit from her means someone in the home will die. She would comb her hair while weeping bitterly, usually crying outside the window of the person destined to die one or two nights before the event.
Naming this gun after such an entity was, admittedly, pretty cool—Kamiyagawa quite liked it.
"Every time I fire the gun, the sound of the shot is like the Banshee's lament, heralding the arrival of death to the enemies. Oh! I absolutely adore this level of melodrama!"
