The promotion ceremony for Hannya was still ongoing. The candle used to break through the rating and the Soul-calming Candle used as "dog food" were quite different. It had been burning for two days and only half had melted.
The candle flame flickered restlessly, and the wax that dripped down was a deep red, like tears of blood.
Additionally, during the promotion ceremony, Hannya needed to stay inside the Shikigami statue to absorb the essence of the candle flame, so Kamiyagawa temporarily couldn't summon her.
