"Is it too late for me to refuse now?" Tang Yuran asked seriously, looking towards Gu Yu.
"It's too late." Gu Yu's eyes were filled with tender amusement as he reached out to ruffle Tang Yuran's hair, smiling as he said, "Even if knives fall from the sky tomorrow, you still have to come out and watch the fireworks with me."
"Alright," Tang Yuran sighed lightly, a look of helplessness on her face, "Since you invited me so earnestly, I'll reluctantly agree."
"Oh... is it that reluctant?" Gu Yu blinked, a hint of mischief in his voice as he teased her.
"Mmm... not especially reluctant..." Tang Yuran blushed, unable to help herself, and turned to look at the television, whispering softly.
Gu Yu finally couldn't help but burst into laughter.
Not long after, Tang Yuran's mother came out of the kitchen carrying a steaming plate of dumplings, calling out to Gu Yu as she walked towards the living room: "Xiaoyu, come and try the dumplings Auntie just made."
