After Hua Yan had fallen asleep, Yun Chi ordered fresh water to be brought in and got up to bathe behind the screen.
When Yun Chi returned from his bath, Hua Yan was already sound asleep. He lay down beside her and took her tender, boneless hand into his, filled with reluctance at the thought of departing from her the next day.
Yun Chi watched her for a long time, until Hua Yan, seemingly sensing something, suddenly opened her eyes in her sleep and met his gaze, filled with an unwillingness to part. Startled, she widened her eyes and touched his eyebrows, her voice husky from sleep, "What's wrong? Can't bear to leave me?"
Caught off guard by Hua Yan's abrupt awakening, Yun Chi hesitated for a moment before softly uttering a "Hmm."
Hua Yan chuckled and teased him by tapping his forehead lightly, "As the Crown Prince, where is your composure?"
Yun Chi stayed silent, holding her hand tighter. "You're not in good health, and I'm worried when you're not by my side."
