Hua Yan was awakened by the arrival of Yun Chi and, after struggling to converse with him for a while, finally couldn't resist anymore. Her eyelids gradually closed, and she fell into a faint sleep within his embrace.
As Yun Chi was speaking, he noticed Hua Yan had become silent, with even breathing being heard. Only then did he realize she had fallen asleep. Another wave of heart-wrenching pain hit him; he had seen her now, and his health had improved, but she must still be in extreme agony.
Worried she might not be comfortable, he gently placed her back on the bed and covered her with a quilt.
Little Zhongzi heard the silence in the room and peeked in. Seeing that Hua Yan had fallen asleep, he asked softly, "Your Highness, you haven't eaten a grain of rice for two days, why not have some food?"
Yun Chi, leaning beside Hua Yan, could not bear to take his eyes off her face, nor could he bear to let go of her hand. Without looking up, he replied, "I have no appetite, I can't eat."
