Upon leaving the Duke Residence, Yun Chi pulled Hua Yan into his embrace inside the carriage, kissing her as if to punish her.
Hua Yan gasped for breath, unable to catch her air. She tried to push him away, but he ignored her until she felt she was about to suffocate. Only then did Yun Chi release her and looked at her, asking, "Will you make decisions on your own and not come home again?"
It took a good while for Hua Yan to catch her breath. She glared at Yun Chi with mock anger, "The Duchess was so hospitable, it would have been rude to refuse."
Yun Chi humphed, wrapping his arm around her waist, "No matter how close you are to the Duke Residence, it's not as close as your relationship with the Eastern Palace and me."
