On the second day, when Yun Chi rose to attend the morning assembly, despite his extremely light movements, he still startled Hua Yan awake.
Hua Yan opened her eyes and sleepily asked him, "What time is it?"
Standing before the bed, Yun Chi replied in a soft voice as he dressed, "Did I wake you? It's the fifth watch."
Hua Yan's mind cleared a little; she glanced outside the window, noting that the rain was still falling, seemingly heavier than the day before. Startled, she asked, "Are you going to the morning assembly?"
Yun Chi nodded, "Just keep sleeping. I'll be back by noon to join you for lunch."
Hua Yan seemed to ponder for a moment, then asked, "How long does the morning assembly usually take?"
Yun Chi looked at her with a smile, "Do you also want to take a look?"
Hua Yan shook her head, "I just want to follow you, that's all."
