The following day, Yun Chi and Hua Yan set out on their journey back to Nanchu, while Lu Zhiling and Mei Shuyu stayed behind in the Southwest Territory.
Mei Shuyu felt a strong sense of jealousy towards the sworn siblinghood between Lu Zhiling and Hua Yan. Had he not known that Hua Yan was to marry Yun Chi, and that he would have to call her sister-in-law in the future, he might have impulsively joined the oath himself.
An Shuli, leading the retinue from King of Anyang's estate, accompanied Yun Chi and Hua Yan back to Nanchu.
An Shuli mulled over Yun Chi's decision to entrust a million troops to Lu Zhiling and have him stay in the Southwest. He faintly sensed that Yun Chi must have some grand plan for the future and sighed softly to himself.
The four renowned gentlemen of Nanchu were all incredibly intelligent; none of them were fools.
Lu Zhiling was not, and neither was An Shuli.
