Hua Yan had been dragged back from the brink of death by Yun Chi, the cyanosis on her face and the deathly pallour fading away, yet she remained unconscious.
Yun Chi, after having He Yan and the others withdraw, half-lay beside her, quietly watching her.
Since she had schemed to leave halfway to the Southwest Territory, almost a month had passed, yet she seemed unchanged. The candles within the room were bright, and she appeared no longer to be in discomfort, very quiet, as if she were sleeping.
Yun Chi watched her for a long time before he tiredly closed his eyes, rubbed his temples, and called out, "Yun Ying!"
"Your Highness!" Yun Ying appeared in response.
"What has become of the Poisonous Insect King Palace since I left?" Yun Chi asked.
Yun Ying immediately replied, "Reporting to Your Highness, the Poisonous Insect King Palace has been destroyed. None of the Hidden Guards protecting it survived; all perished within the palace."
