Chapter 14 - CHAPTER 14

HOLY NIGHT SEBASTIAN

Rhyme led me into the student council office, where they positioned me in front of the table where Leah, the student council president, was seated. Moryn stood to my right, and Rhyme to my left. I was already aware of their reasons for bringing me here against my will. It seems like everyone is conspiring against me.

"Excuse me, Ms. Leah. Here's the agenda for our meeting with the faculty," A girl stated as she passed the paper to Leah. Her secretary, Samantha Flores, excused herself before Leah even glanced at the paper, her focus now on me.

"You probably understand why I've asked you to come here, don't you?" Leah asked, leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms. Beside her was Vice President Charbelle, who was also her best friend. Luckily, there were only five of us here, as I would have been even more uncomfortable if the entire student council were present and listening to us.

"You still haven't been following the proper uniform dress code," she continued. I looked down, realizing that I haven't been wearing the female uniform for a long time, and no one has ever reprimanded me for it. Why is it that after all this time of studying here and almost daily violating the dress code, they're only calling me out now? "To avoid any further problems, I would like you to just follow the rules. Do you understand?" Leah said. "Don't worry about your uniforms, I'll take care of it," Charbelle said with a big smile, standing beside Leah.

We all looked at her. It was evident from her appearance that she seemed giddy and excited. When she noticed that we were all looking at her, her smile quickly faded, and she suddenly became serious. She cleared her throat before speaking again. "I mean, that's right, and you need to start by tomorrow," Charbelle added. "What?" I was surprised by that. They're being too much. Can't they give me a little more time? Tomorrow, really? Plus, I don't agree with wearing the girls' uniform yet.

"So, do we understand each other now?" Leah clarified. "For sure, you'll look even cuter," Charbelle commented, her eyes sparkling. "Ew!" I couldn't help but cringe. "Why?" Leah asked, trying to suppress her smile. I also noticed Charbelle and the two others on either side of me laughing. It's annoying! I knew it, they're teasing me. "I don't wanna wear the girls' uniforms!" I complained, standing up abruptly.

Leah also stood up and walked towards me. "You know, Holy Night, we have rules in school that we need to follow," she explained, placing her hands on both of my shoulders. "Exactly!" Charbelle agreed. "But I don't want to!" I said irritably. "And why not?" Rhyme suddenly spoke up and went in front of me, standing next to Leah.

I couldn't answer. I scratched my head. He already knows the reason, so I wish he didn't ask. "Sorry, but it doesn't suit you to wear boys' uniforms," Rhyme said seriously. His words immediately struck a nerve. "Hey! Take that back!" I shouted, pointing at him. "Rhyme, can you please stop that," Leah reprimanded him. Rhyme crossed his arms and looked at me, making me feel like he was belittling me or discriminating against me. "Alright. If you really want to wear our boys' uniforms, then prove that you deserve it," he explained.

Wait, what is this idiot saying now? "And what do you mean by that, Rhyme?" Leah asked. "Yeah," Charbelle chimed in. Rhyme and I locked eyes until I understood what he was trying to imply. "You jerk! Are you saying I'm not deserving because I'm not a boy?" At this point, I really felt like punching Rhyme. "Hey! I am a boy, okay!" His irritating gaze and smile towards me infuriated me. "Prove it." He said.

"You're going too far. It's just wearing a male uniform, why would I have to prove myself. Is that a set of requirements?" I said, slumping back into my seat. "Yes, of course, and first of all, you gotta have this," Rhyme said with a smirk, pointing down below, causing us to look in that direction. I suddenly froze, my eyes welling up. Because of that, Leah slapped him. "Ouch! That hurts!" he exclaimed. "You really are a pervert!" Leah said.

"Guys, can we just let Night be where she's comfortable?" Moryn suggested. "No way!" Rhyme and Charbelle objected simultaneously. Rhyme looked at her in surprise, causing Charbelle to step back, pursing her lips and avoiding eye contact. To be honest, I've been noticing something about Ms. Charbelle since earlier. I heard Leah sigh. "For goodness' sake, Charbelle, just give up," Leah said. "There is no way!" Charbelle refused. "Even before, I've always dreamed of seeing Night wearing the girls' uniform," she said, her eyes sparkling as if she's in love.

Now it makes sense. Charbelle and Leah really planned to make me wear the girls' uniform, or specifically, just Charbelle's only idea. "Well, that's up to you," Leah said as she returned to her seat. Charbelle approached me. "You know, Holy Night, it's a rule in every school to wear proper uniforms." I scratched my head. She's so persistent. I really don't want to wear the girls' uniform. "But I'm not comfortable with that." I said.

Her facial expression immediately became serious, and she stood up straight. "Is that so, Night?" I got nervous at her words, so I just nodded. "Then, Rhyme is right. You need to prove that you deserve to wear the male uniform like the boys, like Rhyme." Leah facepalmed at what Charbelle said. "Well, what is she supposed to do then?" Moryn asked. "Yeah, it seems like those brats have done everything already," Leah commented, pointing at both Rhyme and me. Charbelle thought for a moment. "Okay, I have an idea. During the upcoming school festival, both you and Rhyme will walk inside the horror booth." I swallowed hard at her words. Oh no. I've never encountered a real ghost in my entire life, but I'm extremely scared of them.

I've been hiding this for a long time because I don't want Rhyme to know that I'm scared of ghosts, and he might just laugh at me. "If I'm the first one to get scared between the two of us, then you can continue wearing male uniforms. But if you're the first one to get scared, it means you're not a real man and you're a coward," Rhyme explained. They're going too far. It's really offensive. But whatever, I'll do everything I can to not lose. There's no way I'm wearing those short skirts of the girls' uniform. "Game!" I bravely replied. Charbelle's face lit up again with extreme excitement. "Good luck, Rhyme. I have faith in you," she added.

"Don't worry, Rhyme. I'll help with setting up the horror booth and make sure it's even scarier," she said, giving Rhyme a pat on the shoulder. I let out a sigh and slouched. It's only now that I realized I don't stand a chance against this. "Can I join Rhyme and Night inside?" Moryn asked, also excited. "Sorry, Moryn, but for the first opening of the horror booth, it's exclusive for Rhyme and Night before it becomes available to everyone," Charbelle explained. After our discussion, we left the office, and I was still slouching. It's like I'm feeling weak from my extreme bad mood.

I followed Moryn and Rhyme quietly and sluggishly. As I put my hand in my pocket, I furrowed my brow when I felt a crumpled paper. I suddenly jogged my memory of the upcoming audition for the role of Romeo and Juliet. I couldn't let Rhyme find out about this. If I could just dispose of all the flyers and posters related to the audition, I would gladly do so, as long as he remains unaware of the theater club's audition. I couldn't risk him deciding to join in. I absolutely mustn't reveal my plans to audition, because he'll ruin everything. It feels like he'll destroy all my plans in life as long as he's around.

"Do you guys want some ice cream?" Moryn suddenly asked. Maybe she noticed the tension between Rhyme and me. "Sure!" Of course, I didn't want to refuse that. At this point, it seems like ice cream is the only thing that can revive me. We headed to the school's food court, and Moryn kindly treated us to ice cream. While we were enjoying our treats, the student council president and her vice president unexpectedly showed up. Oh no, here they are again. Just their presence alone makes me feel anxious, especially Charbelle.

And they even approached our table. I really didn't want to see them at that moment. I didn't want to give Charbelle and Rhyme an opportunity to engage in conversation. It could ruin my appetite for the ice cream. "Oh, I want ice cream too!" Charbelle exclaimed excitedly, swiftly placing her order with Leah. The three of us, Leah, Charbelle, and myself, sat side by side, with Charbelle positioned between Leah and me. Moryn and Rhyme occupied the seats across from us. As we savored our ice cream, Rhyme remained silent, keeping his head down and focusing only on his own treat.

"Rhyme, are you okay?" Charbelle asked, her brows furrowed. It seems like she also noticed Rhyme's sudden silence. I wonder what he's thinking about now. Maybe he's already planning something regarding our challenge in the horror booth. Well, I decided to don't mind it at all. I won't let him defeat me. "Is the chocolate ice cream really that bad to make you feel sad?" she continued. "Of course not. Maybe he just remembered something," Leah interjected with a smirk. As soon as Leah said that, Rhyme immediately lifted his head. "Shut up," he scolded his sister.

"If it's about the horror booth, you don't have to worry. I'll take care of it," Charbelle assured him. "No, Charbelle. You know, when we went to the amusement park, we had ice cream and..." Leah couldn't continue what she was about to say because Rhyme suddenly spoke up. "Go ahead, keep talking. I'll spread what happened during your first menstruation," he threatened. I got curious about that. What could have happened? In anger, Leah suddenly pulled Rhyme's hair. "You're such a pervert!" Leah exclaimed, clearly annoyed. "Ouch!" Rhyme complained, and Leah let go of his hair. Charbelle and Moryn laughed at the siblings' naughtiness, while I scratched my neck, forcing a laugh. I just couldn't understand what they were arguing about.
