Chapter 1 - Prologue- A New World

*Location Unknown*

Blank..

The world around me could be best described as blank.

I could feel nothing, do nothing, see nothing but the blank abyss that stared right back at me for what felt like hours' if not days.

Unfortunately, unlike protagonists in stories, I do not have a seemingly endless reserve of willpower to keep my sanity in check. As time continues to tick by, I can slowly feel my sanity begin to slip.

At this point, I'd take pain over the dull, blankness that surrounded me, so that I may feel something.

No matter how much I tried to move my body to observe the space around me, I could only stare straight ahead of me. Straight into the blank wall of space that greets me.

After trying to will my body to move once again, as there is little else to do in this hellscape.

A glaringly white light engulfed my vision, blinding me for a few seconds due to the rapid change in brightness.

As my eyes adjusted to the sudden change in brightness, my vision began to clear, revealing large trees that towered over me, and sand that my feet sunk into as my weight crashed into it.

My brain stopped working for a moment as the sensory overload of the surrounding sights, smells, sounds, and sensations, differed so much from the blank void that my body froze, falling to the ground, unconscious, due to the sudden change of location.

I did not know how much time had passed since I had fallen unconscious but it could not have been long as, the sun was still out and shining brightly above my head, forcing me to squint from the bright light.

I groaned and forced myself to my feet, still with squinted eyes, appraising the surroundings.

"Well, Shit..." I manage to force out of my unused vocal cords.

I have somehow, unbeknownst to me, arrived on a beach, where my feet sunk into the soft yellowish sand. Clear blue waves have crashed into the shore, and the taste of salt on my lips, allowing me sensations I thought I would never have again after being trapped in that void. On the other side of me was a forest with sparsely placed trees every so often, allowing for an easy view of the landscape.

After the shock of my surroundings began to clear up, I began to hyperventilate, feeling short of breath, I felt a wave of dizziness hit me causing me to once again fall over unconscious, though this time I made it safely under a tree, allowing for a bit of shade to block the UV rays of the sun.

After waking up, I groggily lifted my eyelids, feeling dead tired from the shock of everything, even though I did almost nothing the entire day. When my eyes finally opened all the way, I noticed that the sun had begun the set, as the sun nestled just above the waters' embrace.

The beauty of it all, allowed for my mind to calm down from any of the wild theories that explained why this was happening and think rationally for once.

"I suppose this is better than that hellish void at the very least." I said out loud to no one, with my face in the palm of my hands, pushing back my overgrown hair, from my face.

After finally becoming fully calm, I looked around at my surroundings, which began to rapidly darken, due to the setting sun.

"Now what?" I said to myself with an exasperated sigh.

"I suppose now there is a reason as to why I watched all those survival guides at the very least." I said while gazing at the clear ocean water.
