The most important thing was that Rod now needed to make "Soul Firewood."
If he didn't have a powerful soul, he would need 50,000 Souls Without Spirit and 100 spirituality instead.
This was hard to accept.
But it wasn't easy to obtain a powerful soul either.
Opportunities like last time weren't something one could just stumble upon regularly.
In fact, Rod would never be included in a real hunt for truly powerful monsters.
Despite his somewhat impressive appearance now, he was far from reaching the actual level. Rod had tried asking Lauren to participate in some higher-level operations; he was almost always flatly rejected and sternly warned to stay in the academy with content, not to harbor any fanciful thoughts, and not to wander off.
He wouldn't dare venture alone into the deeper parts of the sewers, much less venture outside the Royal City.
Thus, this trial was actually an excellent opportunity.
There were many tricks up Rod's sleeve now, far more than before.
