Grey Level monsters, also known as dust on the battlefield, may not seem significant having just emerged from the Black Fog, but in Royal City, they're the most substantial threat.
If that dust could be cleared away, the threat within Royal City would be reduced by more than half.
However, cleaning up the dust was notoriously difficult.
They were born everywhere, in countless numbers, wandering the streets and alleys, rendering it impossible to use attacks with tremendous destructive range.
Figuring out how to efficiently clean them up was always the biggest headache for the guardians of Royal City.
But it was Rod's favorite thing to do.
Sweeping the dust might not be the most profitable, but it was the most stable; there was no danger, and efficiency was the only issue.
Rod had many insights on this, and the Eye of the Soul provided tremendous help, ensuring that he could always clean the most dust in the shortest amount of time.
