As the Americans began their big push, Rothschild ordered his troops to begin an attack that he called Operation Joplin. Operation Joplin was named after the EF-5/EF-6 tornado the tore through the town of Joplin Missouri. Rothschild had something special in mind for the Americans.
As the Ghost of Ottawa and his team pushed deep into the heart of Rothschild's territory, a single shot rang out.
Everyone looked around, nobody had been hit, nobody on the ground that is. As Demi looked up, their jaw dropped in horror as the BPA-100 slammed into the ground. Rothschild stood up and rapid fired the anti-material rifle into the BPA-100. However, it was an empty husky of armor. The Ghost charged him in the ODPA tackling him to the ground. However, Operation Joplin has just kicked off. The Ghost plowed directly into the center of Rothschild's trap. Rothschild's injection enhancements had him far more youthful and stronger. The Ghost did his best to stay upright and defend himself, but as he turned to defend himself from an onslaught of soldiers, Rothschild's opened fire his lense lasers into the Ghost's side.
AH FUCK!
THIS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THIS IS THE SHOT THAT KILLED A GOD DAMN DEMOCRACY!
Rothschild picked up the anti-material rifle and kept punching holes into the already weakened side of Ottawa Defender Powered Armor. Each shot resulted in more blood splattering on to the walls and ground as the Ghost tried to defend his vital organs.
DIE DIE DIE! GOODBYE GHOST OF OTTAWA!
As the last round exited the smoking barrel of the rifle, the Ghost used the last of his strength to punch through the wall and make his escape back to friendly lines.
HUNT HIM DOWN! Make sure he doesn't leave here alive.
As the Ghost ran, his suit began giving off all sorts of warning lights indicating he was losing blood fast. Bullets whizzed past his head as he ducked and weaved around this European hellscape. Once he had outrun them, the Ghost leaned against a building and slowly slide down as his strength had run out. He ripped a liquid nitrogen hose out of his suit and sprayed down his wound. It was bad, he didn't have to look to know. His side burned and pain receptors were jamming his brain functions. Finally after the bleeding had stopped, he passed out.
As nightfall reached Europe, Demi and the Ottawan Defenders finally found the Ghost. He was unconscious but alive, barely. The wound was deep and terrifying frozen solid. They loaded him on a stretcher and began to make their way back to the ships.
All forces be advised, Gamma-Oscar is in critical, abandon the mission and retreat!
Across the city, the news reached Inferno and Captain Maddock, along with the 451st Company. With a nod, the pushed across the New World Order territory, stretched over the breaking point, and well against their orders to retreat. Inferno watched as his men were getting decimated, then, a sniper shot rang out. Down went Captain Maddock, down went another soldier, and another.
