When I got back the tribe my mind would wonder back to Lady Dee. I could see why it was her family always to be the protectors of the realms; As we left the restaurant and those humans that called out to her made me mad but the looks she gave them shut them down. Dragons were the bigger predators in the empire and how they could change their form with a snap of their fingers was always amazing to me. Someone one brought me out of my thoughts; "Tribe leader Bruce! You can't possibly believe that the dragons are going to keep their word. The current Lady Dee is cunning and has been for the last 400 years; I wouldn't put it past her to try and trick us then what. We still have to worry about food!" spoke an elderly man
"When was the last time you saw Lady Dee or her family? She seem genuinely when she said she wanted to help, and we are already a dying breed as it is! Do you have another way on how to procreate! Do you need a reminder that it was thanks to your wonderful leadership that got us where we are, so until you have a better way on doing things not another word on this matter. I may not of known the previous empresses but I'm willing to put my faith in the current empress, we have a chance of prolonging our race and until I feel that we are endangered I hope that you will all keep an open mind." I said which made other members of the snake council keep to themselves because they knew what I was saying was true.
"I have to agree with both of you. Some of the dragons can be tricky and how do we know that we can trust them? I kind of disagree with former leader Jacobs, it's been years since you've met anyone from royal descent?" a man said that made Jacobs shut up glaring.
"If the current empress means what she says let her prove it to us. Did she say on when we should make our way to the empire? That trip alone is 4 days at most." said the man which was more like a uncle figure to me "I should be having a message soon from the empress soon. I have other matters to attend to, this meeting is adjourned." I said and everyone was leaving the meeting room but the former tribe leader stayed behind, "Don't undermined me again like that in front of the others like that ever again! Your mother never taught you to respect your elders!?" Jacobs shouted but he was cut off "Jacobs you're already on thin ice! try it and see what happens!" the man shouted Jacob storms off out of the meeting room "Uncle Dylan. I could of handled it" I said but Dylan only chuckled "I know you could of kid. Jacobs is a cunning bastard, you haven't dealt with him like I have in the past. Just watch your step around him, also he can twist your words so that it can be in his favor so watch what you say to him." Dylan said nodding to what was said Dylan looked at me puzzling something; "the current dragon empress must be a beauty if she has your mind in a twist." Dylan said arching an eyebrow not hearing what he said I spoke up "she is a beauty. Her attitude is something else too." now realizing my words my uncle laughed
"I haven't see you this preoccupied in a while. Do you think she's good enough to be your mate?" Dylan asked and feeling the heat crawl up my cheeks; "She's phenomenal. I wonder if I'm good enough to be her mate?" I said looking away, "well; you're stubborn, pigheaded, a little sexist, an ass, a smart mouth but you are also a caring, loving and wonderful." Dylan said patting Bruce on his shoulder before walking out ahead of him. I had just ratted myself to my uncle; I meant what I said to him. 'I know that she is way out of my league but all I could do was try, right?' I said speaking inside my head. Little did I know there was something or someone there "who's there?" I asked looking around the empty room but heard giggling, a spirit showed itself.
"Hmm you're sharp as a whip. My master told me to pass along a message, 'Hello Mr Bruce Jamieson, I hope all is well with you. In the upcoming weeks; I'll ask that yourself and the selective few to make your way to the empire. If there is need of any help with the transport do not be afraid to ask, I hope that we will be able to get along in the future to come with your tribe and the empire. When you do get here, I would like to have another chat with you in private; hope to see and hear from you and your tribesmen soon.' -Lady Dee
"who are you?" I asked "my name is Harper. I'm the earth familiar of lady dee, I go where she tells me to; now that my job is done see to it that you follow my masters orders. buh bye." harper says waving the disappearing
I could feel my heart race. finally some good news and we can have hope, I wondered why my heart was racing so much? just the thought of her and the thought of seeing her again; the fire and passion in her eyes. I do know one thing is that she wasn't mated when we last met, maybe I could one of her mates? I asked myself hoping that I could be close to her like no other.
As I'm about to walk out of the meeting room there was a guard coming in wounded "sir... It's the scorpions, they're attacking us from all sides.." the guard said falling down on the floor and when I went over to him he was heavy breathing soon before passing out I tried waking him up but he didn't move nor did he wake up. There was a lot of blood on the floor and when I saw where the injury was I knew there was no saving him; half of his side was out completely but how he was able to get here was beyond me. Scorpions always trying to pick a fight, not this time they've crossed the line. They want a fight so badly the snake tribe is more then happy to give it to them.
