Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Desired By The Alpha Of Moonstone Pack

Leroy's POV

If there was one place I hated visiting, it's the pack hospital. Since childhood, I have always hated the scent and drugs. I thought that maybe while growing up I would get over it, but unfortunately that never happened. Even when I grew up, I still hated it because whenever I perceived the scent of drugs, it disturbed my wolf's senses; it's just like coming into contact with a wolf's bane.

Despite all of these, the Alpha still forced me to go to the hospital and fetch Janet.

Even though I tried giving him some excuses in order not to go, he still forced me to go, saying that she wasn't feeling fine and it wouldn't be safe to leave her to find her way to the palace alone. I wonder why he cares a lot about the welfare of a she wolf that he just met yesterday; he doesn't even know anything about her. I hope that's not what I'm thinking.

Before getting to the hospital, I stopped by a pharmacy in order to buy a face mask that I will use to protect myself from the scent of the drugs that will possibly fill the hospital.

When I drove to the hospital, I wore the face mask before walking in.

Hello handsome How can I help you?" The receptionist asked me while smiling seductively at me.

Well, she's right, I'm handsome, and she's not the first lady to notice it. Which lady won't fall for the chief commander of the Moonstone pack?

"Nothing much; where is the ward of the lady that was brought here last night by the Alpha?" I asked her with a warm smile.

"First floor, second ward by the left," she said to me.

"Thanks a lot, pretty," I said to her before heading to the ward.

As I was approaching the ward, I could already sense her presence, and I'm sure that she would have already sensed mine too.

Once I arrived, I placed a soft knock on the door of the ward, but I got no response.

After some minutes, I still placed another knock, but there was still no response.

Without waiting for her to reply, I opened the door and walked in angrily.

Once I entered, she raised her head slightly and looked at me while grinning, and without saying a word to me, she laid her head back on the bed while shutting her eyes slightly.

I stood there staring at her angrily while expecting her to acknowledge my presence at least, but she didn't react as if I were even inside the ward.

After some minutes of silence, I walked angrily to where she was lying, and without uttering a word to her, I started wrapping her with the bedsheet on which she was lying down.

"Leroy, Leroy, what are you doing?" She asked me with a surprised tone, but I snubbed her.

"Help!, help! Someone wants to kidnap me," she started screaming, and immediately I used my hand to close her mouth while wrapping her, despite her efforts to break free.

After wrapping her, I carried her, placed her on my shoulder, and started heading outside.

"Help!" She kept on screaming while drawing the attention of the patients in the hospital.

"Will you keep quiet, you troublesome girl?" I sneered angrily at her.

As I was walking down with Janet, who was still struggling to get down from my shoulder, the receptionist ran into me, accompanied by the security guards of the hospital.

The receptionist had certainly alerted them due to Janet's screaming.

"Hey Leroy, you really scared us; we thought that someone had attacked you guys," the first security guard said to me.

"No, of course it's nothing of the sort; it's only that when you have a stubborn sibling, you have to go through some stress like this every day," I said to them, and immediately they smiled at me.

As we were still discussing, the doctor entered the hospital.

"Ooh, Leroy, you are already here; the Alpha had already informed me about your arrival," the doctor said to me.

"Yes, I had to show up earlier because I have things to take care of after bringing her back," I said to the doctor, who nodded in agreement.

"By the way, why are you carrying her like that?" The doctor asked me inquisitively.

"It's a way of proving my love to her; after all the stress she went through yesterday, I don't want her to stress herself this morning. That's why I decided to be a good brother by carrying her," I said to the doctor, who nodded before heading towards his office.

"Seriously, aren't you guys going to do something? Who carries his little sister out of the hospital like this? Janet asked the security guards and the receptionist, who were still smiling.

"Sorry, young lady, but over here we don't get ourselves involved in family affairs," the receptionist said to Janet while grinning ear to ear.

"My name is Janet, not a young lady," Janet said in annoyance as I was heading outside with her while holding her firm on my shoulders.

"Janet!!!!!!!!!!" She kept on hollowing until I came out of the hospital.

Once we came out, I opened the door of the passenger seat and dropped her in before entering through the other side.

She kept on staring at me angrily immediately after I entered the car; if her eyes contained lasers, she would have already shot them at me.

"Whatever you are thinking, you better keep it in your mind, because if you dare say it out, you will find your way to the palace," I said to her, and immediately she hissed at me while turning her face towards the window.

"Janet, I want you to tell me the truth: why did you jump from the window of the motel where you were staying?" I asked her, and immediately she turned her gaze towards me.

"So he told you?" She asked me inquisitively.

"Yes, he did, and that was after reproving me for being an uncaring big brother," I said to her.

"Well, he's right after all," she mumbled to herself.

"What?" I asked her with an icy glare.

"Nothing, she replied brusquely.

With that statement, I rolled my eyes angrily at her, and immediately she turned her gaze away.

"So tell me, why did you jump?" I asked her.

"They came after me," she said to me with a frightened tone.

"Come on, Janet, you know well that I hate suspense. Who came after you?" I asked her inquisitively.

"It's the soldiers of the Oz pack," she replied.

"What? But how were they able to find you?" I asked her while forgetting that she too didn't know the answer to the question.

"I have no idea," she replied brusquely.

"Well, don't worry too much about that; no one is going to come after you in the Moonstone pack," I said to her reassuringly, and she nodded in agreement.

"Hope you told everything to the Alpha?" I asked her, and she gave me a positive nod while avoiding my gaze.

"Janet!" I screamed her name angrily.

"Do you always have to read my mind?" She asked me angrily while raising her in the air, and immediately I gave her an angry stare.

"Ok, I told him everything except that I murdered the Alpha," she said to me before turning her gaze away.

"But why?" I asked her.

"What will he think of me when I tell him about it—a girl who murdered the Alpha of her pack and who is coming to his pack to seek refuge in order for her not to be executed because of the crime she had committed?" She asked me, her voice filled with guilt.

"Did you also tell him that the Alpha executed your parents for no reason?" I asked her inquisitively, and immediately she turned her gaze towards me. I could clearly see the guilt written all over her face.

"No, I didn't," she said to me with a dejected tone.

"Janet, I want you to always remember this. You did nothing wrong; the Alpha deserved whatever happened to him. Have I made myself clear?" I asked her, and immediately she nodded in agreement.

"You are going to tell the Alpha what happened, or I will do it by myself, and trust me, he won't be happy if he discovers it through me," I said to her with a calm tone.

"Ok, I will tell him. I hope he won't execute me or ban me when I tell him about it." She asked me.

"Nothing of the sort is going to happen as long as I'm here." I said this to her reassuringly.

"Thanks a lot, Leroy," she said to me before hugging me tightly.

"Don't mention it, Janet; what are big brothers for?" I asked her while hugging her.

"So, Leroy, where are we heading?" She asked me after I disengaged from the hug.

"To the palace," I replied while igniting the car.

"Why to the palace?" She asked me inquisitively.

"Because that's where the Alpha said I should bring you," I replied before zooming off.
