Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: My Useless Elders

Tony's POV

It has been over a week since I sent a message to the Alpha of the Moonstone Pack asking him to hand over Leroy and Janet to me, but since then I haven't gotten any feedback from him.

As for now, I still can't predict the meaning of his silence, but I hope it's not what I'm thinking. Let it not be that he's planning not to hand them over to me, because if that's what he's planning, then let him be ready because even if it's war he wants, I'm going to give it to him.

Meanwhile, let me wait for the arrival of the elders before deciding what to do next.

In less than thirty minutes, the elders were already in the court chamber, and from their facial expressions, I could clearly see that they were already wondering why I summoned them.

"Good day, my dear elders and counselors of the Oz Pack," I greeted them from my throne.

"Good day, the great Alpha of Oz pack," they all greeted me in unison while prostrating themselves.

"I know you will all be wondering..."

"Good day, the Alpha of Oz pack," one of the elders who was just arriving greeted while prostrating himself.

"You again, Eduardo, why must you always be the late comer?" I thundered at him angrily from my throne.

"Sorry, my Alpha, I had something urgent I was taking care of," he replied to me while trembling in fear.

"And what is that thing that is more urgent to you than my call?" I asked him angrily while standing up from my throne.

"Please, my Alpha, have mercy on me; I will never be late again," he begged me as I was approaching him angrily while displaying my sharp claws.

"Answer me!" My voice echoed throughout the whole court chamber.

"What was it that was more important than my calling?" I asked him while approaching him, and immediately he started taking stop-steps backward while trembling in fear.

Just like a flash of light, I quickly approached him, gripped his neck, and started pulling him from the ground.

"Please, Alpha, have mercy on me. I had to take my sick child to the hospital," he said to me while gasping for air, but I ignored his pleas while tightening my grip around his neck.

"Please, Alpha, have mercy on him," the elders started begging me on his behalf.

After some minutes of hesitation, I finally released him from my grip, and immediately he fell to the ground and started panting heavily while holding his bleeding neck.

Immediately, as I turned my gaze towards the elders, I could see the terror written all over their faces.

"This is what will happen to any of you who mess with me again," I said to them with an icy glare before walking back to my throne.

Once I returned to my throne, I tried calming my nerves so that the color of my eyes would change back to their normal color.

Like every other Alpha, when we are angry or are on the verge of shifting into our wolf form, the color of our eyes changes automatically to red, while that of simple werewolves changes to yellow.

After some minutes of silence, the tension in the court chamber slowly came down, and the atmosphere became cool once again.

"Just as I was saying before some latecomers interrupted me," I said to them while turning my gaze towards Eduardo, and immediately he bent his head in shame.

"It has been over a week since I sent a message to the Alpha of the Moonstone Pack asking him to hand over to me the rebels that escaped from my pack, but he hasn't given me any reply. So what do you all suggest that I do?" I asked them.

After some minutes of silence, one of the elders proceeded:

"My dear Alpha If the Alpha of the Moonstone Pack hasn't given you any feedback since then, it only means one  thing.

"And what does it mean?" I interrupted him immediately.

"It means he isn't going to hand them over to you," he said to me, and immediately I furrowed my brows at him.

"Yes, my Alpha, if an Alpha sends a message to another Alpha and the Alpha refuses to reply to him in less than a week, it means he isn't going to do what he requested if it was a request, and if you were asking him for support, it means he isn't going to support you. He has the choice to either write back to you or remain silent," the elder explained to me, and I nodded in agreement.

"I was already expecting such a reply, but I never imagined that he would be so stupid to the extent of risking the lives of his innocent citizens because of two strangers. I wonder what they told him," I said to them.

"Well, if it's war that he wants, then we are going to give him war; we will wage war against him until he decides to hand over the rebels to us," I said to them, and they nodded in agreement.

"I think there is a problem, Alpha," one of the elders said to me after his colleague whispered something to him in the ear.

"What problem?" I asked him with an inquisitive look.

"If we are going to wage war against the Moonstone Pack, we need to have enough soldiers, whereas we don't have enough soldiers after half of the soldiers were murdered by the two rebels," the elder said to me, and immediately I widened my eyes in surprise.

"What!" I exclaimed in surprise.

"Thought I instructed you all to recruit new soldiers?" I asked them with an inquisitive look, and immediately they took a glance at each other.

"My dear Alpha, none of our pack members agreed to join the soldiers," one of the elders said to me while avoiding my gaze.

"What? And none of you informed me about it?" I asked them with anger.

"We thought that maybe with time they would start joining," one of the elders said to me while avoiding my gaze.

"Oh moon goddess, what have I done to deserve these dummies as elders and counselors?" I questioned myself sorrowfully while glaring at them angrily.

"Guards!" I called out, and immediately two guards quickly ran into the court chamber.

"Tell the chief commander to take with him five soldiers and go to every house and bring any male that is between the ages of eighteen and twenty-nine; they are all going to become my soldiers; if anyone refuses, kill him," I instructed them.

"Yes, Alpha," they replied.

"The children of the elders are not excluded; I want them too," I said to the guards.

"Yes, Alpha," they replied before leaving.

Once they left, I turned my gaze towards the elders, and I could see the terror written all over their faces.

"You all have three seconds to disperse from my presence; if not, none of you will like to witness my other side," I threatened them angrily, and immediately they started dashing out of the court chamber like rabbits being chased by hunters.
