My mom dropped me off in her new Porsche which my dad got her for her birthday a few weeks back. I walk to the class rows on the tarmac where we normally would just stand and our vice principal would just say stuff to bring it to our Attention.
After I placed my backpack down I see Amber sitting on one of the benches that over views our school pond. I sneakily walk up too her and when arriving right behind her I did the only thing any human would do "BOOOO!" she jumps up and started hitting me "YOU CRAZY BITCH IM GONNA KILL YOU IF YOU DO THAT AGAIN! " I'm Laughing clearly my ass off for the way she always reacts when she gets scared, her fight mode.
"Ok you wanted to talk to me?" Amber is the only one that knows that I'm gay and we've been best friends from the third grade. "Ok so there is a new guy in our school and OH MY LORD HE IS DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!" I look at this girl knowing she is going mad because she had 23 boyfriends in Term 1 & 2 COMBINED "Shut up slut you already had 23 boyfriends in a 6 month period, you should stop crushing for every guy you see.
" Ok fine let me just show you how he looks like" And within seconds she pulls my arm and started walking to our school garden, full of plants, flowers and trees. After entering our schools lavish garden, I stare at a Boy, He has fluffy dark brown colored hair, Brown eyes, Tan skin and from the first eye sight of him I knew every girl in the school will fall for him. He seems to be listening to music from his headphones.
Amber still pulling me toward this guy until we stand right infront of him, he looks up at her before standing up "This is my friend I was talking about" He looks at me from top to bottom doing a clear analysis of me before breaking a smile with his beautiful straight white teeth "Hi, I'm Caleb Nice to meet you" He sticks his hand out and I give him a firm Handshake "And you are?" I was so mesmerized by his appearance I forgot to introduce myself "I'm Matthew, but call me Matt" We stared at each other not breaking eye contact "Whos class are you in" I ask and before he could answer Amber chipped in "He is in our class dummy"
And without a second further our school bell rings and Amber, Caleb and I slowly walks to the Tarmac where all the classes stand in line for the daily announcements.

After the announcements we walk to our admin classes for the daily attendance. We walk in and sit in any seat and the second Caleb entered the class our admin teacher walked up to him "Hi I'm Miss. Rose Your admin teacher and you're Caleb right?" He looks a bit nervous "Uh Y-yes I'm Caleb" She looks at me and then back at him "Caleb this will be your mentor, Matthew will that be alright with you?" I Stare at him and slowly nod "Yea its fine Ill just go show him his locker and with that said we walked out into the hallway.
After walking across the whole school we finally found his locker number 297 "Finally three years later" he sighs sarcastically, we make eye contact and we just stand there... Not breaking eye contact... "We should probably go back to class before the bell rings." He nods and we slowly walk back but taking the longest route so we don't have to sit the whole 20 minutes and do nothing.
First period Math's
We start to make our way to our math class, which is, in fact, located on the other side of the school. The whole way, Amber couldn't help but feel a surge of nervous excitement. She discreetly adjusted her hair, flashed her brightest smile, and peppered Caleb with questions about the upcoming math assignment, all in a desperate attempt to capture his attention, hoping he'd notice her efforts and the connection she yearned for to bloom between them on this long walk to class.
As we made our way to our math class, located on the far side of the school, a subtle but intricate dynamic was at play. I started a conversation, asking him about his interests, his previous school, and what he thought of our school so far.
Caleb, being the friendly and open person he was, engaged in the conversation wholeheartedly. He seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say, and I couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement deep within me. It was as if we were forging a connection, a connection that I had been secretly yearning for.
Amber, who had always been the center of attention in our group, started to notice the shift in dynamics. She watched as Caleb and I conversed, her smile wavering just a bit as she sensed the growing rapport between us. The sparks of jealousy were beginning to kindle within her.
Amber's attempts to regain Caleb's attention became more pronounced with each passing second, but it was clear that a new friendship was forming between Caleb and me, one that had the potential to change our group dynamics in ways we couldn't have foreseen.
Sitting in our dull math class, I couldn't help but feel drawn to Caleb. He had this cheeky grin and those cool hazel eyes that made my heart race. We sat really close, almost touching knees, and it felt like there was just us in the room.
Caleb leaned over, all playful, and said, "Hey, Matthew, did you see the latest episode of 'Game of Equations' last night? Apparently, it had some serious math drama."
I laughed and said, "Totally, Caleb. That math show had me on the edge of my seat, almost as exciting as this class."
We locked eyes for a second, and it felt kinda magical, but then I noticed Amber, who'd been giving us dirty looks since we started joking around. She was clearly upset.
Caleb kept going, "Speaking of exciting, Matthew, you make solving those math problems look so cool."
I blushed a bit but played along, "Well, Caleb, your trigonometry skills are impressive, but I'm more into the 'angle' between us."
We both laughed, but Amber looked even angrier. She was determined to get Caleb's attention.
Just when things were getting interesting, the teacher shushed us, saying, "Alright, Caleb and Matthew, save your 'math talk' for after class. Let's focus on the lesson, shall we?"
We reluctantly turned our attention back to the lesson, but I couldn't help but smile. Little did the teacher know that what we had was way more complicated than any math problem. Our flirting was just one part of a much bigger, cool relationship that went beyond the classroom.
As the math class continued, Caleb and I reluctantly returned to our studies, but the energy between us lingered in the air like an unsolved equation waiting to be cracked.
Amber's jealousy still simmered, but we couldn't be bothered by it. We shared secret glances, exchanged playful words, and let our fingers brush against each other whenever we could. It felt like our own little world within the confines of that classroom.
Despite the teacher's interruption, the connection between Caleb and me was undeniable. We were like two numbers that just seemed to fit together perfectly. Little did we know that this was just the beginning of a story that would continue to unfold, chapter by chapter, taking us on a thrilling journey filled with love, laughter, and countless equations yet to be solved.
