"Alpha, we've got a problem." Jackson, Ryan's beta, called out from outside his office door.
"Should I come back later?" Bella, Ryan's fiancée said seductively from her place on the Alpha's lap.
"No baby, you're important, whatever he has to say is probably not something to worry about." Ryan replied, leaning in to continue their make out session.
Jackson cleared his throat, clearly uncomfortable with the situation. "Alpha, it's about the pack. We've received reports of rogue werewolves on our territory, attacking innocent humans."
Ryan reluctantly pulled away from Bella and stood up, smoothing out his shirt. "I'll handle it. Bella, I need to take care of this. I'll be back soon," he said, pressing a quick kiss to her lips before turning to Jackson . "Gather the pack, we'll take care of this together."
"Wait, weren't you just at the forest right now, Bella?" Ryan asked, looking back at her.
"Oh yes, I was but I didn't notice anything, they probably just came." She shrugged, adorning her lips with a tight smile.
"That's probably true, okay, see you later." He waved bye and left after Jackson .
As they neared the location where the rogues were said to be found, they were gone.
"Could it be that they were passing by?" Jackson said nervously, he knew the kind of temper his alpha had and not meeting something as it was said to be would be an ultimate disaster.
"Hmmm, Beta!" Ryan started venomously, "Next time, you confirm before disturbing my peace, is that clear?"
"Yes Alpha." Jackson replied nervously.
With that, Ryan turned to leave, but Jackson held him back once more.
"Alpha, there is one more thing... "He got interrupted when the Alpha abruptly turned back with a murderous look on his face.
"What ever you have to say, you can say later, okay?"
"Okay Alpha." Jackson bowed and left the spot immediately.
With just a thought in mind, Ryan ventured back to the pack house. He had every intention of continuing where he left off with his fiancee.
As he walked through the halls of the pack house, he could feel his wolf stirring within him.
The scent of Bella was still fresh on him, and he couldn't wait to have her in his arms again. As he entered his room, he found Bella waiting for him, wearing nothing but his shirt and a seductive smile.
"Finally, you're back," she purred, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Sorry about that, Bella. I didn't expect the rogues to be gone." He kissed her deeply, his hands roaming over her body.
She moaned into his kiss, her hands trailing down to his pants.
"I want you, Ryan. I need you."
Without another word, he lifted her up and carried her to the bed, where he proceeded to show her just how much he needed her too.
They moved in perfect synchronization, their bodies tangled together in a passionate dance. Hours passed by, but neither of them wanted it to end.
But, there were more pressing matters that Jackson could not weave off anymore.
He paced, waiting just outside the Alpha's suite.
"Ugh! What now?" Ryan whined to Bella, laying his head on her chest.
"What is it?" Bella queried, not having sensed Jackson outside.
"Nothing, I hope, but I need you to get dressed now and go do whatever the future Luna is supposed to do." He gave her a chaste kiss ans rolled out of bed.
"Come in, Beta." There was an underlying tone of threat in Ryan's voice as he called to Jackson after Bella left the room.
Jackson knew that tone too well and it means to be sure of whatever information he was about to pass across.
"Check this Alpha." He handed Ryan the stack of papers in his hands.
With a shot up eyebrow, the alpha took the book, it was the financial reports.
"You are not supposed to bring this to me until the end of the month." Ryan said.
"I know Alpha, but I noticed some glitches on there that require your immediate attention. " Jackson confessed, leaning in to point out the glitches.
"I don't understand." Ryan confessed, looking at the book like an alienated object.
Since he became alpha, he didn't bother to oversee everything, he would simply assign Jackson to see to finances, even the well being of the pack. One could say he was only an alpha in name only.
The only thing he enjoy seeing to himself is the play of dominance over the Beta's and the Omegas, those with lesser ranks than him.
Other than that, his alpha duties are not important to him.
"I noticed that in the middle of every month for the past 2 years someone has been stealing our resources, importantly the money and I can't trace the source." Ryan shot up from his sitting position.
If there is anything he loves as much as bullying those lesser in ranks, it was staying rich, being able to cater for the pack.
That was the reason they have not overthrow him ans he knew it, but if it got out that their finances was lacking he was simply a minute away from being chased from the alpha seat. His father would then come back as Alpha, he couldn't risk that.
Ryan's eyes narrowed as he looked at the report, his mind racing to figure out who could have been stealing from the pack. "We need to find out who's behind this and put a stop to it. How much have we lost so far?" He asked Jackson , his voice firm and commanding.
"About a million dollars per month, Alpha." Jackson replied nervously, already knowing what the alpha's reaction was going to be.
Ryan's face contorted with anger. "A million dollars? How could we have not noticed this before? Who's in charge of finances?" He barked, his eyes flashing with fury.
"I am, Alpha," Jackson said, bowing his head in shame.
Ryan's anger turned to disappointment. "I trusted you to handle this, Jackson . How could you have let this happen?" He said, shaking his head in disbelief.
"I'm sorry, Alpha. I didn't know until now." Jackson said, his voice laced with regret.
Ryan took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. "We need to find out who's behind this and put a stop to it. I want you to look into it and report back to me as soon as possible," he said, his voice firm and commanding.
"Yes, Alpha. I will do my best to find out who's responsible," Jackson said, bowing his head in submission.
Ryan nodded, dismissing him. As he sat alone in his office, he couldn't help but wonder who could be stealing from the pack. He knew he couldn't trust anyone, not even his most loyal Betas.
He decided to take matters into his own hands, he would find out who's behind this and make sure they pay for what they've done to his pack.
As he sat down, he remembered taking in a lone wolf recently, then it clicked in his head, it could be the new member of the pack.
"Pack meeting everyone!" His voice boomed through the mind link.
Everyone dropped what they were doing to answer their Alpha. An angry Ryan was not an easy Ryan and they knew that.
"Yes Alpha." In no time, everyone was gathered in yard where their meeting usually take place.
"Calm down baby." Bella tried to calm him down, but he almost swatted her hands away. She looked offended.
"Sorry babe, this is quite important." He stepped forward to the podium.
"There is a thief among us." He went straight to the point, making everyone gasp.
"A vicious thief but he has been caught and now, he will pay for his sins by dying." Ryan spoke with no emotions in his tone.
Jackson, from where he stood, was surprised that his alpha had sorted the issue just like that, and he hoped he was not wrong.
"Charles Kali, you have been accused of stealing the pack's resources and I will not forgive you for this treason." Ryan pointed at the poor man that was watching and listening to his speech.
"No, Alpha no!" Charles screamed, battling with the warriors that held him.
"Throw him in the cells, he is to be executed in the morning." Ryan finalized and left the podium.
