Chapter 204 - The Last Argument

In the tavern, Evelea sweeps the floor while keeping her head down and getting a lecture.

"Look at you, how many dishes have you broken today, the more you help, the more you help, the chef with perfectionism is a slow cook himself, it's okay if you don't respect his achievements, then you can't hold the dish over the guest's head!"

The waiter grumbled and swept up the debris on the floor.

Broken plates and wine glasses trampled dishes, and broken table and stool legs.

The tavern looked as if it had been through a melee, with tables and chairs all tipped over, broken debris all over the floor, and barely a single intact spot to be seen in the store.

The bartender wiped the blood from the bar and glanced regretfully behind him at the twisted wine rack that pressed out a human shape.

The chef guy really, the hand is not a light, not just step on a foot of the steak fried for half an hour, as to throw others so heavy, this rack of wine is worth 100,000 dollars, all gone in a flash.

The chef who is most saddened to have a dish made with passion stepped on by others is sitting in the doorway at the moment smoking a cigarette.

The last to come out to the battle, he still didn't know how the melee in the tavern had broken out.

The Diviner was only vaguely heard to exclaim a rogue, and then there was the sound of a man's scream.

Duke was still counting, "Isn't that the way it is in places like taverns?"

"The most anyone can do is mooch off you, it's not like they can do anything to you, so why react so much?"

Evelea sank her little face, "No way! Not one cold hair!!!"

"Okay, okay, if you're that sensitive, don't come out to help in the future!"

"Hmph, I'm waiting for the day you get your ass touched by a male Kiri!"

"It doesn't matter, just touch it."

The bartender, who was gathering up the racks of drinks, drifted in with a slow comment, then realized that the tavern had suddenly gone silent, and he looked back curiously.

The burglar and the soothsayer looked at themselves with puzzled expressions, and even the gladiator sitting in the doorway looked back with a shocked face.

The bartender explained with a calm demeanor, "It's not like we can touch it anyway, how could we Transcendents be so easily taken advantage of by ordinary people, she had dodged her claws, but she still had the strength to snap the hot dish on someone's head, and look at you guys, how much damage this impulse has caused us tonight!"

The conversation returned to that melee, and Evelea sulked.

Loveland stepped out of the darkness looked at the messy tavern and said after a moment of silence, "You guys... Really, why is it that every time I go out and come back there's a surprise?"

"Big sister you said you wanted to make the tavern a bit more lively ah, then we let the Diviner go to the door to solicit customers, the guests were quickly filled up, but only the success also the Diviner, also the defeat is also the Diviner..."

Duke shrugged, "There was a little unpleasantness back there and then a fight broke out."

"By the way, did you find a buyer this time?"

The conversation returns to pinning, and Loveland is silent for a moment.

"No, the Church's scrutiny is getting tougher and tougher, another assembly has been cracked down on, probably confessed by those who were arrested earlier, and now that everyone's on the edge of their seats, a lot of people are fleeing abroad..."

There was a moment of silence.

It's very hard to have a proper identity in Celine, and those people would rather abandon the operation here than flee, so you can imagine how difficult it is now.

Loveland said quietly, "You could survive anywhere if you had the skills to be self-sufficient, but the problem is, without Transcendent Material to maintain stability, we're all going to die..."

Duke sighed, "Loran is full of exploitation and struggle, and Celine here is full of acolytes, so she can only be a shrinking violet, why don't we go to Rouen, I heard that it's an adventurer's paradise over there, and it's completely based on strength!"

The bartender lowered his gaze, "If it's that good there, why would Thane run out?"

Duke turned back, "Hey Gladiator, why are you so quiet tonight? Tell us all about your glorious ride on the geoduck in the great pristine jungle one more time!"

"Hey! You're not still mad, are you?"

Loveland looked strangely at the back of the man who sat on the threshold without a word.

"What happened to him?"

The bartender shrugged, "Maybe it's a habit left over from his old jungle life, he gets angry when he sees people spoiling their food, and he can hit hard."

At this point, Duke disgruntledly stepped forward and pushed him.

"Splat~"

There was a sound of something heavy crashing to the ground, and the three men in the tavern looked back, only to see the gladiator's head fall straight down, his body slowly crooked too, and the burglar looking at his hands with disbelief.

"Him!!!"

"Du back off!"

Issuing a warning Loveland quickly pulls out a short staff before seeing the staggering backward-leaping burglar slashed in the stomach by a shadowy blade.

"Ahem!!!"

Duke fell to the ground after covering his stomach and spewed out a mouthful of blood that was bright red with a hint of azure.

"Poison... Poison..."

His mouth was crazily overflowing with blue blood, and the life in his eyes was slowly extinguished, but just a moment before he was about to die, his eyes suddenly widened, and he lifted his hand and fought his way up to the ceiling.

"Bring it on you!!!"

A mass of black shadow was stealing down from him in the air and clutched in the palm of his hand with a death grip.

On the beams of the room, the clown in the black and white mask lost the shelter of the shadows straight away, exposing his figure.

But the other man was only surprised for a moment, then he laughed softly and crouched down.

"How touching!"

"Due to the loss of props, this vanishing program has been forced to abort."

Loveland raised his short staff and said coldly, "Dark Moon Circus!"

"Oh? Did you come to our show too?"

The clown asked with great anticipation, "And may I ask, which of our programs had the best performance?"

The bartender's eyes suddenly turned dark, and his mouth murmured silently, "Slumber!"

"Shh!"

The Joker, who had suddenly appeared behind him, turned the bartender's head and whispered close to his ear:

"Let me teach you what true restful sleep is!"

Blackout, whose head was twisted off, died horribly on the spot.

The two women who were left in an instant look at the clown who appeared beside them in shock.

The corners of that black and white mask's mouth lifted, "The audience was punished for not answering correctly during the halftime question period!"

"This is not a stage and we are not your audience."

Loveland immediately deactivated his opponent's ability, then turned his head toward the Diviner and said quickly, "Look at the situation and verbally negate what he's doing!"

Joker tossed his dagger in disinterest, "There goes the Shadow and the show, why do you guys always make life so boring?"

The Secret Mage raised his wand without a word.

In the tavern, the dense threads that appeared out of nowhere instantly tightened.

The clown's hands danced as he was lifted in the air, and his arms and legs showed an unusual reflexive fold.

"I can't breathe!!!"
