Chapter 157 - A Tough Hunt

Artifacts?

What is she talking about?

Eleazar, who had been knocked out by the Deerhead Spirit, quickly rolled over and stood up.

Looking at the contents of the body for a moment, his eyes finally rested on the silver ring.

This thing, it's an artifact?

All this time, he had been using his spirituality to harness it, and hadn't really tried to infuse any other energy into it.

Glancing up ahead, the crows covered the sky, the branches weaved and tumbled, and the entire island in the lake was shrouded in darkness.

It was too late to try it out slowly, and the direct spirituality was converted into heat and injected into the silver ring.

"Whew!!!"

The form shifted and fire erupted, blades of flame without weight or feel, coalescing in the palms of his hands surrounded by silken tongues of fire.

The island shrouded in darkness bursts into red light.

Eleazar gripped his new weapon and swung his sword heavily, the crows coming up ahead of him being driven away by the wave of fire.

Sweeping and slashing heavily, the ground churned with branches that shattered like charcoal.

The consumption of spirituality was greater, but his attacks had also become stronger.

Eleazar gasps and sees the deer-headed spirit less than ten meters ahead.

Holding his breath and bending over, his figure instantly disappeared as a large crater exploded beneath his feet.

"Crack!"

When Witcher's figure reappeared, he was already close to the monster, and the blade of flame, clenched in both hands, pierced through the torso of the Deerhead Spirit in a harsh manner.

The branches and vines all returned to their cages, and the two sides stalemated for a few moments before Eleazar muffled his voice to carry the excruciating pain coming from all around his body, and as fire erupted from his hands, the deadwood torso in front of him burst into flames, splattering charcoal all over the sky.

The crows around him became even more frantic, splitting into a single stream that surrounded him in death, while the rest all flew into the rubble and grabbed a totem cobbled together from the bones.

The warlock coalesced fireballs in his hands, "I'm not really participating in the hunt if I help him out, it won't interfere with his transfer ritual, will it?"

The Witch, who had already hunted with Witcher many times, clasped her hands lightly, "Actually, it was figured out when you helped him burn a totem, the more we intervene, the less he gains..."

Fina dispersed the fireball in her hand at once, and could only watch anxiously as he struggled through the maddening mob of crows.

Heat, air currents, and flames erupt!

Eleazar consumes a large portion of his spirit once again, erupting into flames that consume the humongous crows.

When his vision returns, a bruised Witcher turns his head to look at another mass of crows flying away.

They've crossed the lake and flown into the forest.

Gasping for breath, he stomped down the frosty path again, catching up moment by moment.

By the time the two women had returned to the shore with their respective approaches, they heard another wolf howl from the forest.

"Ow!"

The crows dodged frantically in the air, wolves converged from all directions, several giant bears stood up manfully, and the beasts all came out brazenly to block them.

Gradually being dragged into a decadent state, Eleazar realizes how he can't keep up with the nimble fluttering crows.

A sweeping chop sent three pouncing wolves flying, and he quickly pulled out his last card.

The silver bullet is loaded, the revolver is raised, the spirit is infused, and the silver light shines.

Aiming for half a second, a preemptive silver bullet blasted the crows apart.

"Bang!"

Black smoke rose from the half-destroyed totem and fell from the air.

Eleazar crossed over to the beasts that had suddenly become stagnant and quickly pursued them, fighting the monsters that had coalesced into form again.

The Deerhead Spirit had become too weak to use any spells, but Witcher was also close to running out of gas and couldn't even conjure a fire blade anymore, his attacks weak and ineffective.

Now it's all about who lasts longer.

The two women stood outside the arena secretly cheering him on.

After fighting to the death for a moment, Eleazar suddenly backs off and pulls out a bottle of Tonic Potion and drinks it.

Then without giving the howling deer-headed spirit a chance to struggle, he resumed summoning his fire blades and swiftly terminated its torso.

Finally, he found the totem that had been carried into the grass by the hare, and chopped it to pieces with a few swords.

[Residue of magic potion: 908→608]

Feeling the transcendent activity boiling through his body, Eleazar gasped and tilted his head.

After a long time, the red light that trembled in the pupils of his eyes slowly went out.

"Wow, that's awesome!"

Seeing that he had recovered well, the witch trotted over to celebrate.

Eleazar rewarded her with a hard chestnut.

"If it weren't for you two, there wouldn't have been any need for such a grueling fight!"

"Oooh..."

Evelea clutched her head in aggravation and looked back at the warlock behind her.

Fina turned her head to look at the forest, "We should get going, those villagers have probably already organized to come in and check it out if you guys don't want to get rocks thrown at you and spit on."

Eleazar felt the sudden decay of life force around him.

Those abnormally lush plants began to show large areas of wilting.

If those villagers saw such a scene, they would only blame them for all the mistakes, and throwing stones and spitting would probably be light.

Sacrifices, in exchange for the transcendent growth of the forest, were the interests they fought so hard to protect.

Eleazar mused silently, turning toward the two women:

"The druid's commission is complete, let's go."

"Don't you need to get some proof?" Evelea asked curiously.

"No need."

Eleazar looks up at the various birds and fowl on the nearby branches.

"Maybe he's watching right now..."

"Wow, I can't believe I'm spying, that's disgusting!"

"Will that man keep his word?"

Discussing the character of the druid behind them, the trio quickly left.

There really were a lot of villagers and lumberjacks checking out the outskirts of the forest, and they bypassed the men and took a steep slope back to the main road.

Carrying the two women up the 3-meter-high slope, Eleazar set them down and took one last look back at the bustling village at the end of his sight.

"Hopefully, they will accept their new lives without the intervention of transcendental beings."

Mission accomplished, time to return.

...

The three of them were walking slowly along the road in the middle of the desolate countryside.

With dozens of kilometers to cover, they might have to walk until dark to get back to the town.

"So tired~"

The witch hammered her leg, then looked around again, attempting to find any animal that could walk for her.

Just then, a car honked behind him.

Evelea instantly blushed with delight, and in a hurry she pulled Fina to the curb.

"What are you doing!"

"Don't you want to go back sooner, or are you really going to walk back?"

Witch said, standing on her tiptoes, stretching her arms out toward the road and giving a thumbs up.

Fina, who did want to go back early, had to follow her movements and do as she was told.

In the desolate countryside, two big beautiful women poking out playfully, standing on the side of the road to stop the car, few drivers can resist the temptation.

So Eleazar, who was standing on the side of the road watching all this, got on the back wagon with no problem, and sat down with the three goats that were bleating and arching their heads against him at the same time.

Eleazar propped his chin on his hands and stared vacantly at the smoke from the rear of the car.

Listening to the laughter coming from the cab in front of him only made him feel noisy.

The flap suddenly pulled open, and the witch revealed her face and said happily, "It's done, Uncle has promised to send us back to Crowe Town first~"

Eleazar silently mourned for a second for the drivers who lost gas money.
