Chapter 89 -  Night of the Witch

Incredible battlefield, blood splattered on the sheet.

Eleazar is sitting alone on his bed.

It was like a scarlet dream, with the lingering scent of the witch still lingering in her nostrils.

"See, you fool, that woman is using you to digest the magic potion..."

Eleazar muttered, standing up holding his somewhat sore backside.

That wild horse was so strong and had such amazing stamina that it could have tossed him around.

Slowly getting dressed, removing the psychic boundaries from the four corners of the room, and tidying up the battle-scarred sheets before dragging his tired body out to wash up.

Halfway through the morning, Eleazar yawns and heads out the door to class with his book bag clutched.

The weather seems to be getting a little colder, and all the students outside are wearing jackets.

He didn't feel much of anything when he mastered 2nd order cold energy, but he went upstairs to put on a coat for the sake of fitting in before rushing off to class.

After an uneventful morning class with no surprises, Eleazar was about to get up and leave when the professor suddenly tapped on the board.

"After studying for so long, it's time for your first quiz, and you'll be ready to start your quarterly exams next week."

There was some commotion in the classroom.

The professor said in a deep voice, "There's nothing difficult about the history department's exams, as long as you memorize them you'll pass, and if anyone fails the class, I'll never let him off the hook."

Very simple indeed...

Eleazar thought silently and stood up, seeing that the students around him had begun to cross-reference their notes with each other.

Well, the questions on the test are probably the same things that have been covered in class in the past few months?

Thoughtfully following the professor's lead out of the classroom, the other suddenly turned back.

"Mr. Eleazar, don't you have any interest in archaeology?"

"Uh..."

"In fact, I think your talent is very good, it's rare to find someone who can master the ancient language so quickly, and you have such excellent physical ability, you might want to listen to more courses on grass, geology, biology, and cultural relics when you have time, with this talent of yours, you might be able to become a good archaeologist in the future."

Go digging to analyze ancient ruins...

Isn't this going to get us killed?

Eleazar silently glanced at the professor's departing back.

The public ruins may still have some protection, but how many people have died at those unpublicized archaeological, or even privately contracted, excavation sites may only be known to God.

Curses, viruses, sealers, spell residue, constructed creatures, just about any one of them could kill an entire camp.

As for those ancient documents unearthed, ancient relics, gold and silver jewelry... In the end, he's actually more interested in transcendental creatures.

So, you should have enrolled in biology?

Eleazar was thoughtful.

Coming downstairs, the silhouette had been standing there for a long time.

It was clear that there was no agreement this time, but the two of them were inexplicably as if their hearts were in the right place.

Evelea smiled sweetly and trotted over to greet her.

"Good morning, did you get out of class?"

She also wore a black jacket today, underneath was still a knee-length black pleated skirt, her slender legs had black stockings over them, leaving out a small section of snow-white absolute field, and on her feet were black round-toe miniature leather shoes, still the original dark style, but today in her blouse she wore a white blouse, with the neckline tied up with a bow of red satin silk.

The two men met as if nothing had happened, with their usual faces.

"Morning..." Eleazar glanced at her blouse. This woman, not only had she worn away her shirt, but she'd also slipped away a jacket, and he'd said how there seemed to be less clothes in the closet.

While she was dressed very nicely, that's no reason to steal clothes.

This kind of behavior must be curbed, otherwise the other person will slowly feel that this is a matter of course, and over time, it may even develop the terrible idea of 'what's yours is mine'.

Eleazar sulked, "Why are you taking my jacket!"

Evelea beamed, "It was so cold, did you bear to let me go like that~"

"Wash it and give it back to me tomorrow."

"Why don't ~ you come get it yourself?"

"I'm not going!"

"Huh?"

She suddenly smiled flirtatiously, "Didn't you fuck me?"

Mind shaken a little, Eleazar took a dark breath and tilted his head in calming denial.

"I didn't!"

"Hee hee~"

The witch smiled wryly and walked ahead with a bounce like she had won, humming in a happy mood.

"O geese, shadow by shadow? ~Waving their wings with all their might, do you see the light of your dreams? ~"

Hearing the song drifting ahead, Eleazar's body stiffened, as if something had taken root deep inside, and the pupils of his eyes instantly went hollow.

The sky suddenly darkened, huge reflections emerged, an upside down city hung upside down in the sky like a mirage, the whole campus was instantly in an uproar, and shocking cries of alarm rang out from outside the streets, as a hazy white fog filled in around them at some point.

Evelea tilted her head dumbfounded, "Eh!?"

She was just about to mobilize the power in her body, but her mouth continued to softly start a chant as if she had lost control:

[Black Wings Singing Alone]

[No one listens to her]

[Who will answer the coldness of the night sky...]

[Will you scream once the scars are twisted?]

[Body covered with knife tips, still dancing like a puppet]

"Disperse, you've flown into hell.

[Falling Arrows, Burning Ashes...]

"The Scarlet Fairy Tale

Listening to the altered 'Night of the Witch', the pupils of Scarlet's eyes gradually widened as she pulled out her shotgun with difficulty, trembling against her chin.

Evelea had a premonition that something irreversible was going to happen if she didn't stop.

But her finger couldn't pull the trigger, and those last lines were slowly chanted in her sobbing voice.

"O God, awaken..."

"Bury all regrets..."

"My wish is nothing more..."

An unfathomably great power was called out, and the entire heaven and earth, slowly solidified.

... The sound of waves echoed in people's ears as the roiling white fog slowly drowned the city.

The Transcendents were unable to move at all, their faces desperate as they watched this scene.

The power of God, who can stop the...

Just as this was about to become irreparable, the upside-down Sky City suddenly shook, then collapsed and slowly annihilated.

"Pfft!"

A red-stained, translucent blade emerges from Eleazar's back.

"Ahem..." Coughing up blood, he turned around and saw that the witch was also under control, so he quickly rushed over and knocked her down.

A belated pillar of light shot up into the sky.

The majestic holy light disintegrated the last remnants of the image, and the halo of light that erupted cleared the clouds, the sky instantly clearing up, an endless rain of light showering down, dispelling the mist.

Countless people fell down and lost consciousness.

On campus, the two held each other up, desperately trying to avoid the light rain.

By the time he'd managed to duck into the woods, Eleazar had a back full of white feathers, and his body was wailing with transcendental activity, his face contorting in pain.

Evelea stared blankly at the man in her way.

"Are you a fool..."

It was as if something had been torn apart inside, it hurt...
