Chapter 34 - Monster

Is she really tutoring someone?

On a rooftop, Eleazar half crouches his body and looks out a window a few hundred meters away.

In the brightly lit room, Olivia, who had changed into a conservative outfit, was tutoring a shy boy on his homework.

Suddenly, as if she had sensed something, she raised her head and looked into the distance.

The facilities in the old town are old, the street lamps flicker and dim, and many families do not use high-power incandescent lamps to save electricity.

It was dark outside, but that was hard to beat.

His pupils instantly stood up, and his grim gaze like that of a viper swiftly swept in all directions.

"Duk-duk~"

At that moment, there was a knock on the door behind them and the boys' mother walked in with snacks and tea.

Olivia immediately turned back to her head, and her face, which had already returned to its normal state, smiled faintly.

The boys' mother, however, couldn't stop shaking.

The cups and bowls on the plate made a slight 'clunking' sound.

"Hey Mom, don't bother us..."

The boy turned his head back in displeasure, but was surprised to see his shivering mother, and followed her horrified gaze to his side.

That pretty older sister, whose body was leaning forward and sitting beside her, had turned her head behind her.

"Olivia... Sister..."

"Can you guys, please, stop popping up behind you all the time."

The smile on Olivia's face disappeared, and her gentle tone became unbearably icy and cold.

"Monster... Monster..."

"Xiaohua, run away!"

"Pop!"

"Rip-"

First, there was panic, then an exclamation of horror, the room lights snapped out, and finally, the sound of ripping flesh and blood rang out.

Eleazar didn't realize that he had only ducked for a moment, and there was already a horrific tragedy happening there.

The only light left in that building was in the hall, where a man was sitting on a couch watching TV, and he didn't notice a woman covered in the blood slowly coming up behind him, and then his head was pressed down by a pair of hands, and he couldn't even let out a cry of anguish before his head was ripped out of his head alive, bringing out a shower of blood and a whole string of cervical vertebrae.

Eleazar took a small breath and crouched down again.

That hall, where the eagle demoness, who had already exterminated a family, slowly cast her eyes again.

With a slightly accelerated heartbeat Eleazar quickly realized a problem.

Its senses are equally sharp.

In terms of vision alone, one may not be as good as others!

Eleazar wondered if the other man had noticed him, and he didn't even dare to look up to make sure now; he didn't dare to gamble because he just wasn't ready to do it today.

That's when he heard a slight flapping of feathers.

It came...

If they don't leave, they'll have to confront each other face to face.

Eleazar immediately began to retreat, half crouching and moving backward as he used the book in his hand to pat away the dusty footprints on the ground, eliminating his tracks along the way.

When he had managed to back into the stairway, he backtracked his body and walked down the stairs again, leaving a series of confused footprints in his wake.

"Flutter flutter..."

Slowly flapping her wings behind her arms, Olivia, who came covered in blood, glanced coldly at the rooftop below.

Eagle pupils could clearly distinguish that there were fresh footprints down there.

Gathering her wings, she fell gently.

Easing into the stairway, she peeked out and glanced down.

No one's coming downstairs.

There was no elevator in this old building, but there were more than ten floors.

Glancing at the fresh footprints on the steps, she took one step down the stairs.

Standing on the floor where the peeling paint said 12, she glanced from side to side.

The walkways on either side were unlit, with only a small amount of light coming through the cracks in the doors of the few concierges.

She went down one level at a time.

11th Floor ...

10th Floor ...

9th Floor ...

Descending to the 8th floor, Olivia glanced at the floor and a horrific grin slowly spread across the corners of her blood-stained mouth.

In a place like this, where dust is all over the place, any cover-up is a joke.

She walked straight to the left as if she already knew where the peepers were.

Taking one step to the door of the room whose doorplate read 807, she raised her hand and was ready to force it open.

"Ring-ring-"

But at that moment, the fire bell was triggered, and the shrill ringing resounded through the building.

Olivia froze, no longer caring, and busted right through the door.

A room strewn with cobwebs and dust came into view.

It was full of abandoned clutter, dust blown up by the wind from the door slowly billowing in the moonlight, and the floor was devoid of any footprints, the freshest of which she had stepped on herself.

She fell for it. The other guy wasn't in there.

And now, she'll never get the chance to go out and look for it.

Unless she kills the whole building!

The building was old, but there were still a lot of tenants, all of whom had been startled out by the alarm at the moment and were running up and down the aisles.

Olivia stood frozen for a long moment, and after figuring out that she would never have a chance to get the man out again, she came to the window with a grim face.

A grim gaze kept scanning the people running out of the building downstairs, trying to locate the unholy one.

It didn't take long for the fire trucks to arrive quickly, inspect the building, confirm that it was a false alarm, and then leave again in a hurry.

Before leaving the captain persuaded the group to replace the fire equipment.

The residents returned to their residences cursing.

Olivia, who was hiding in room 807, still hadn't identified the peeper, and in her insightful eagle's eye, those people downstairs, their dress, behavior, and expression all matched the characteristics of the residents here.

Or maybe that person was originally from this building...

Olivia's face went cold and her fingers couldn't help but crush the door frame.

----

[Breaking News Report: Late yesterday night, a shocking murder occurred in the old city center, a whole building of 216 residents was killed, the magnitude of the case is the largest ever in Dalung City, and the chief of security was removed from his post, several officials have been held accountable, and the mayor of Dalung has issued a second level of curfew order, starting from 8:00 p.m., all unrelated people are strictly prohibited from traveling at night.]

Early the next morning, the whole campus was talking about it and everyone was on edge.

"It's horrible, how could there be such a murderous maniac!"

"Ah! There's a curfew? What about us living outside!"

"It's okay, my old side of the family used to have a curfew, just bring your own documents when you go back, and better yet, get a certificate of residence from the school."

"To tell you the truth, I'm the one who lives in Old Town, and last night the dogs were barking wildly throughout the district, and before we could react, the military department came right in and sealed off the grounds."

Eleazar, who had learned of the news, couldn't help but suck in a cold breath.

She's crazy!

How could he not have expected that the other party would be so heartless?

"Ah..."

Suddenly one of the boys let out a heartbreaking wail and dashed the school gates.

He had a couple of teachers chasing after him, but couldn't be persuaded.

Word slowly spread.

The boy's family, who live in that building, got away with it by not going back last night.

Eleazar watched this in a daze, his fists slowly clenching and unclenching, lowering his head in silence for a long moment before suddenly turning back and walking back to his dormitory.

"Hey..."

Lingyin is about to call him out, but Fina pulls him back.

"Don't go, he's angry now."

"Angry...?"

Lingyin was stunned and suddenly covered his head with a face full of pain.

"It hurts..."
