Dray elegantly cut the grilled beef sausage on his plate with his slender hands holding the knife and fork.
As he spoke, he lowered his gaze to observe Sky's reaction.
Sky responded with a simple "Hmm" and remained silent.
All he wanted was to make Bella pay for what she had done, or at least return the 200,000 dollars and the ring that Bella had cheated from him.
But he knew he didn't need to say any of this because Dray would never help him.
"When I'm not around, be good and don't go looking for trouble with Bella," Dray gazed at his obedient little face and added in a low voice.
Sky lowered his head and softly responded with another "Hmm."
His expression remained gentle, even more delicate than before, as if hearing Dray mention Bella didn't affect him at all.
But his lowered eyes were already icy cold.
He knew that Dray's rare tenderness was all for Bella.
Perhaps he was afraid that he would tell Bella the truth while he was away.
That was why he came up with the idea of having breakfast with him early in the morning, just to comfort him.
"Open your mouth."
Dray furrowed his brows as he looked at the overly obedient man in his arms, feeling somewhat dissatisfied.
He didn't like the way his pet behaved, and his expression showed it.
The man pinched his chin and, seeing Sky obediently open his mouth, he fed him a piece of sausage from the plate in his hand.
Sky was taken aback by Dray's sudden action, but he quickly swallowed the delicious food.
"Is it good?" Dray asked, his finger stroking his chin as he looked at his mouth, which was stained with food residue.
"It's delicious," Sky nodded in agreement. Aunt Mary's cooking is really good.
He didn't understand why Dray was always so picky and always made him cook. Was he deliberately trying to torture him?
Dray raised his eyebrows skeptically and pinched his chin before kissing him deeply.
Sky was immediately overwhelmed by the familiar scent of his hormones.
When the kiss finally ended, Dray's voice was hoarse as he commented, "Not bad."
"Be obedient and don't make me receive any reports from Dan about you," he reminded him, referring to the incident where he was kidnapped outside Beijing University.
But to Dray, it was a warning.
He didn't want him to cause trouble for Bella while he was away from Beijing City.
Especially, he didn't want him to reveal their secret marriage to his beloved fiancée.
He would have Dan keep an eye on him.
"Mr. Li, don't worry. I took your money and I know how to behave and stay in my place."
Sky smiled, but there was a hint of coldness in his expression.
He could hold back and not immediately go to the Kin family to demand justice the next day, but it was only because Dray had paid for his mother's surgery.
He could hold back until after the surgery was over, and then settle the score with Bella.
He could even tear everything apart.
Dray's eyes darkened when he heard Sky's misinterpretation, but he didn't explain himself.
After breakfast, Dray went to the airport.
And finally, Sky, who had always pretended to be obedient in front of Dray, could breathe a sigh of relief.
He turned and went back to the dressing room upstairs, taking off the blue clothes.
It wasn't that he didn't like Blue.
On the contrary, blue was his favorite color.
But because Dray liked it too, he didn't want to wear it.
At least for the next few days while Dray was away, Sky wanted the freedom to wear what he wanted.
He dug out a few of his old clothes from the corner of the closet, which had already faded from being washed too many times. Sky put them on, tied his hair up, and applied some clear lip gloss before heading out to work.
Perhaps because Dray wasn't around, even his work went smoothly that day. The studio had received a new batch of jewelry, and there were many customers inquiring about custom orders.
In the afternoon, Sky took some time off to visit the hospital.
The hospital had introduced him to the world-renowned Professor Robert, whom Sky had researched online and confirmed was indeed an authority in this field.
Internationally, there were only a few hospitals that could afford to invite Professor Robert to perform surgeries.
Mira's attending physician told Sky that if it weren't for Mira's medical records being seen by Professor Robert, and their hospital having a deep collaboration with him, Mira would never have had the chance to be operated on by him.
Sky was grateful.
After carefully reading through the surgical confirmation form, he signed his name.
The hospital informed him that the surgery could be performed as early as one week or as late as two weeks, depending on Mira's physical condition.
Sky stayed at the hospital to help his mother clean up, and also visited Uncle Xander before returning to his apartment.
Little did he know, as soon as he got home, he bumped into Aunt Mary sneaking out with a bag in her hand.
"Aunt Mary, where are you going?" Sky frowned and asked.
