Chapter 39 - CHAPTER 39:YOU'RE SO THIN

"Mr. Xia, you're back! Please have a seat first. I just made some of my signature dishes and they'll be ready soon..."

Sky, wearing a light blue apron, poked his head out of the kitchen. His jet-black hair cascaded down his shoulders, accentuating his fair and delicate features.

However, as soon as he noticed the tall and straight figure standing by the door, his expression froze for a moment.

"Master Li..."

His charming smile disappeared in an instant.

His hands, which were naturally hanging by his sides, involuntarily clasped together upon seeing Dray's cold and stern expression.

"Eli went to the hospital to accompany grandfather. Didn't he tell you?" Dray's eyebrows furrowed slightly, his expression even colder.

"I...I fell asleep in my room this afternoon, so maybe Mr. Xia didn't wake me up when he left," Sky made up an excuse to cover up the fact that he was repairing a ring in his room this afternoon.

But as soon as he finished speaking, he saw a hint of understanding in Dray's dark eyes.

Sky immediately understood that Dray had misunderstood his words.

"No...that's not what I meant," he quickly explained.

Dray looked at his blushing face and his eyes softened. "It's okay. I know you worked hard this afternoon."

"I know. Thank you," Sky replied gratefully.

Sky: "..."

He dared not look into his bottomless eyes any longer.

Sky deliberately changed the subject, "By the way, Master Li, you haven't had dinner yet, have you? Aunt Mary is not at home tonight, so I cooked dinner. Well... I know you don't like my cooking. Maybe you can go out to eat now, or ask Assistant Mark to deliver takeout?"

Although Sky appeared to be friendly to him, in fact, he was indirectly asking him to leave. Since he moved in,Dray

had always shown disdain for his cooking. He was sure he couldn't tolerate his food.

Sky was intentionally trying to get Dray to leave.

Unexpectedly, as soon as he finished speaking, he saw him change his shoes and walk in from the foyer.

"No need, I'm actually hungry, I'll just eat what you made."

Sky froze as he was about to place the dishes on the table.

The man who had claimed to dislike him and his cooking was now going to have dinner with him.

....

He didn't know what to say!

Sky had just placed the three dishes on the table when he saw Dray's eyebrows furrow deeply, making no attempt to hide his displeasure.

It was obvious that even though he said he wanted him to be his man, he wouldn't mistreat him. But in reality, Dray still exuded a sense of cold arrogance from the inside out. Not only did he disdain him, but he also criticized the dishes he made.

"Master Li, if you don't like these dishes, you can order something else now..."

"Sky, is this your dinner?" His words were interrupted by the man's low, magnetic voice.

"Huh? Is there something wrong with these dishes?" Sky looked up in confusion.

The three dishes he made today were all made from ready-made ingredients in the refrigerator. Stir-fried dried bamboo shoots, tomato scrambled eggs, oil-drenched eggplant, plus a soup made from corn, carrots, and yam. Because he came down late and didn't have time to thaw the meat, he could only use ready-made vegetables. These dishes were a bit plain, but they were all delicious. Just by smelling them, you could tell how good they were.

"These dishes are delicious. If you don't believe me, try them." He was afraid that Dray wouldn't believe him, so he took the initiative to pick up the chopsticks and put a few bites of food in his bowl.

However, the next second, the man's lazy and cold voice came again.

"Eating these nutrient-poor foods won't do anything for your body."

"No wonder...you're so thin that I could hold you with just one hand..."
