Chapter 2 - Noah

"Hehe, yes, now let's see this new body of mine," Noah exclaimed as he awakened in a world known as Red Moon. He had chosen this world because of its diverse races and magic, as it was under the dominion of one of the gods he had slain. Noah embarked on his journey here to avoid retracing his old path to power, which began on Earth.

He had taken over the body of an orphan living in an academy for two reasons: first, the boy was alone and weak, so no one cared about him, and second, the boy had contemplated suicide, and Noah had offered a helping hand.

Noah gazed into the mirror with a contented smile. He possessed striking features, including blue hair and blue eyes. Standing at about 182 cm tall, he anticipated further growth to reach 190 to 192 cm in the future. Despite his somewhat fragile health, he retained a degree of handsomeness. Most importantly, he was an intelligent boy, which provided him with a wealth of memories about the city and the academy to rely on.

"Hey, System," Noah said after observing his reflection, then sat back on the bed.

"Yes, Master. Congratulations on your successful reincarnation," replied a mature voice, which he had borrowed from his former head maid—a woman with a soothing and reassuring voice.

"From now on, your name is Sara. Now, let's consider how to live this life."

"Yes, Master. I have prepared three enjoyable life paths for you in this lower realm planet: Assassin, King, and Scholar. Please tell me which style of life you would like to pursue so I can organize the required knowledge."

Noah contemplated for a moment. Being a Scholar seemed pleasant and laid-back, but he already possessed extensive knowledge from the System, rendering it redundant. On the other hand, the life of a King was burdened with numerous responsibilities. The path of an Assassin appealed to him as it offered a different experience from his usual direct confrontations.

"Let's go with Assassin, Sara, and show me my stats."

"As you wish, Master."

Name: Noah

Race: Human

Talent: Perfect

Strength: 10

Agility: 10

Vitality: 6

Abilities: None

Affinity: All of them

"Hmm... so the average strength of a normal person is 10," Noah pondered. "Sara, how do I regain knowledge and abilities?"

"You must complete missions, Master. That's how you programmed the System to operate. However, you do have a starter pack. Would you like to receive it?"

"Yes," Noah nodded and opened his inventory to inspect its contents. He wasn't disappointed. Although he had lost knowledge, he retained his understanding of the items and their potential, akin to knowing the ailment but lacking the cure.

"You have received God's Eyes: capable of seeing through everything and discerning truths from lies. Immortal's Blood: consuming it will grant you a body as clear as jade, perfect for martial arts. Shadow Summon: you can summon shadows of strength proportional to your mana."

"Master, you will not receive treasures from the System because the world is not developed enough, and any treasures would make you overpowered."

"I should have ventured to the lower realms and acquired treasures there. Nevertheless, it's not a significant concern. I can obtain what I desire here," Noah mused. Among the bestowed abilities, he held God's Eyes in the highest regard, as it enabled him to detect falsehoods, assess strengths, and identify potential threats. Immortal's Blood, once ordinary in higher realms, was now a valuable asset in this world. As for Shadow Summon, it was an ability Noah had possessed for years but had never fully explored, given his preference for direct combat.

Now, he anticipated the adventures that awaited him, with a newfound willingness to embrace all the abilities he had previously neglected.
